I know this is OT but I thought it might bring a smile to someone.
I have been home sick the past few days including today so this morning I decided to put on the porch a bowl of candy for any trick or treaters that may come by. Later on I look out the window and the family of chipmunks that have made underneath my porch their home are carrying off all the candy. Needless to say the candy was Junior Mints so I am sure they will have minty breath the rest of the day! :)

Hello everyone. Sounds like I've missed a lot since I've been away.

It was a rough 3 week recovery from tube removal.

But we had our appointment with the RE yesterday and were told the clinic that would do our ER and ET would be closed down for Christmas and New Years so instead of starting this month with ER and ET around Christmas we have to wait till my December cycle to start meds.

I was told that I will start Lupron on day 21 of my cycle in December. So I'm looking around 29th or so to start Lupron.

Then some time in January I will start Follistim. I'm not sure when in the cycle I start this or what exactly it's for but I will start it in January.

At some point, when eggs are mature I will take the HcG shot. Then, depending on my cycle, ER around 21st and ET around 24th. They prefer to do 3-day transfers (and that's what our insurance covers). I was told that the Pg Test would be around February 8th (ONCE AGAIN, JUST TENTATIVE DATES).

I was told since I have two AF's to come and go that these dates are tentative. I was also told that they would stop my cycle of IVF if I understimulated and if I hyperstimulated.

She did put the needle in my stomach as a test run so I'd see how the needle felt, as I'm terrified of needles. It really was no BIG deal. I know however that that might change once there are meds in the needle, but the needle itself really didn't hurt.

So, we are excited and ready to move on.

IVF - BFP - HERE I COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great day ladies!!

Will check back soon. I have to get ready to head out of town for our nephews b-day party.

It's great to be back!!!!

Hi guys,
Just wanted to check in. My ER went great. My RE told my DH that I did really well. They retreived 14 eggs. I have no idea if that's good or not, but they seem to think so. I remember them setting me up and the next thing I knew I was waking up in recovery. I'm incredibly sleepy right now but the thing that hurts the most is the progesterone shot! Ouch! As of right now, it looks like we'll do a 3 day transfer on 11/4 (Election Day!) but we'll know more tomorrow when they call with the fertilization report. I'm praying for a good one. So, I'm going to rest now but will check in again tomorrow.

Hi gals! Hope everyone had a good halloween!

I have a question for any of ya'll who knows a little more than me about these meds - this is our very first go round. Anyways, I've been on Lupron for 6 days - I start stim meds on Monday and will be on those for 2 weeks till ER on Nov. 14th.. I want to know if I can have a drink while on Lupron / stim meds. I haven't thus far - I don't drink a lot, but while at a family gathering last night, I went to grab a beer and then realized that I wasn't sure if alcohol messes with these medications, so I passed on the beer. Perhaps it is silly to think that having a drink would affect this upcoming procedure? Dunno ..
Anybody with advice on this would be appreaciated ;)

Thanks!

Anyone pre-ovulate? I had 19 eggs, but pre-ovulated and they saved 6, got 4 good ones and find out tomorrow if any are ready for FET on Tuesday. Goodness! We did Lupron for two weeks and have just started Pregestoron (sp) in oil. Ouch! We've been taking shots for two months now! But this last round isn't fun, the others were piece of cake.

My background --
38, trying 6 years, apparently I'm good to go but...
DH 41, 0 sperm in cup, got good from Tese/biopsy and now frozen (anyone have male infertility info, love to know)

hi detroit, welcome, wow it looks like you've been through a lot with IUI's. we skipped those and went straight to ivf. so i don't have any experience to enlighten you with. i'm not sure what you meant when you asked 'anybody have this kind of periods before'..i've been a low-responder to treatments.

so are you wanting to do a FET (frozen embie transfer) next? or do a fresh cycle? i'm sorry to hear you've had so many disappointments..it's been crushing for us. there's lots of support here.

Hello everyone! Goodness, everytime I miss a couple days I miss out on SO much! I am so glad to hear that so may are doing so well!! :)
Good luck with everything Karen - I hope your 2WW isn't too bad and you wind up with that BFP that we're all praying for!!
Robin, sounds like you are a fertile myrtle (this is what they called me during one of my U/S), I hope that I can have that many eggs! That's wonderful!!! I'm sooo happy for you and wishing you the best when you go in for the ET!
Kas, I am so incredibly sorry to hear about the BS that your clinic is pulling on you. That is absolutely horrible!! I would rip em a new one. This is something that you have all been planning together and you even went over the scheduling with them so, for it to be re-scheduled just like that is completely unprofessional and not excusable! What a nightmare.
Gina, good luck with your follicles. I hope they grow and am wishing you the very best of luck!!
lovemybaby, I was not sure about the drinking either. I'm not a big drinker either so, I just figured you know what, since I won't be able to drink while I am pregnant, might as well not now. I figure it's just better to take the extra precaution. I don't have a yes or no answer for ya though. Sorry!

As far as I go, still hangin in there. I am concerned I am going to run out of Lupron though. I was given one bottle of it and it says it's a 14 day thing but, it seems to be going rather quickly. I'm on 10 units right now then when I get into the menopur and bravelle I'll be on 5. I'm going to ask my RE on Monday if I should fill the refill. I took my last pill yesterday so, just waiting for the period to come so I can call in and do the necc. tests, start on my other injections and go in for my ER possibly Fri. It all depends on when I start my period. So, we'll see. Me and my DH were getting all excited yesterday though when I took the last one cause it just means it's getting closer and there's a light at the end of the tunnel! :)
My DH spilled the beans to my Mom. I was there of course when he did and didn't mind at all because he knew I wanted to involve her in all this. She has a medical background and I literally call her "Dr.Mom" not to mention tell her everything so, now that she knows it's absolutely wonderful to be able to talk to her about all this, gain some knowledge and hear how excited she is about any updates.

Well, thanks so much to all of you for being a part of this message board. I think it's so important to get this support and if anything, to just be able to talk about it to people going through the same thing.
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE. I'LL BE PRAYING FOR YOU ALL!

Hi All
I hope everyone is well. Have been reading and keeping up with everyone - but often don't quite know how to get a reply together!

I have my collection tomorrow. There were not too may follicles on Friday that looked like they were actually going to be big enough (about 4 out of 10 in total look like they will hopefully be upto 18mm) - but they said they can't wait for all the others to catch up properly because of fear of OHSS and my estrogen level was quite high so they didn't want to keep me going too long. So just hope they at least manage to get one or two eggs that can be fertilized

Hi Everyone!

I have been reading everyone's stories and I cannot tell you how comforting it is to know that I am not alone. My name is Michelle and unfortunately I didn't find you all sooner. My husband and I have finished all the initial shots, done the ER and ET and we are now currently in our 2ww! It is only day 2 since the ET and we are already on pins and needles.

Stressing out a bit because of some pain and cramping. Can anyone tell me if this is normal??? I am currently on Estrace and Progesterone in oil. I hope these sensations are normal and that I didn't do anything too strenuous to mess this up!

I am so excited to be here with all of you. Good luck and may God Bless each and every one of us.

Michelle
