Lovemybaby-lupron supresses things so they may want to make sure you don't hyperstimulate and if your Estrogen level is too high, the stims will make it go through the roof and you may hyperstimulate. The hardest thing for me after analyzing my system for the past two years is that our cycle isn't our cycle this month, it is being manipulated by drugs. I wouldn't stress, they are protecting you.

NY I am excited for you! Nobody deserves success like you do, this time is your time.

Gina and Much Hope- eggies in the 20s!!! Are you crazy, that is fantastic.

Robin-sleep well tonight and don't think of your ET tomorrow, things are taken care of for you with the man upstairs. Just relax and think, this is the last day you are not going to be prego...actually you are technically two weeks along! HA! It will happen! I feel it.

When is PGD needed? Will it harm the embie at all? Anyone doing assisted hatching?

Babyhope - thank you so much. I know, the doc is only concerned about my high E2 level because if we go into stim meds like this, I probably may very well hyperstimulate, and ruin the cycle anyway, so he wants to have me completely suppressed to get the best possible chance of a positive IVF cycle.. I am just so scared that when I go back on Thursday for my next BT, the E2 levels will still be to high and I will be cancelling this IVF. That scares me silly. My E2 level right now, after 1 week of 10 IUs of Lupron each night is 142. I hear that RE's like it to be under 80 to go forward with a successful IVF cycle. I just hope that doing 20 IUs of Lupron for the next 3 nights does it. Anyone else's advice on this, or their own personal stories with this happening would be awesome.. I'm just getting depressed, trying not to keep thinking that I will not be able to do this IVF.

Thanks!!

Ny4thTry - Congrats on the 7 fertilized eggs. Keeping my fingers crossed that they make it all to blasts. How many are you planning on transfering?

Wonderence - the 2ww will drive you crazy. I don't think i got any work done for like 3 weeks after ER. Not like I get much done anyway i was constanlty on this board and just couldn't concentrate on doing anything. the only thing I thought about the whole time was IVF. I know that probably wasn't good. You only have a few more days to go, you can make it. Image

Love_my_baby - I have BTDT with my 2nd cycle and having a high e2 level. Rosario was also with me around the same time. Both of us had a high E2 level and ended up getting canceled. I was on Lupron for 2 weeks and went in for baseline and my E2 level was over 100, they kept me on the same amount and went back the next week and it was higher then the previous week. Went in a week after that and it was lower but not low enough to start stims. Then went back a week later and it was higher again so they canceled my cycle. For the 2 cycles that I have started stims, my E2 levels were 80. Did you do BCP's? The cycle I got canceled I did not do BCP's. For my 3rd cycle I did do BCP's and no lupron. Sorry, I know this story really doesn't help your PMA but there is hope. My RE never increased my dosage because my 1st canceled cycle I was too suppressed to they were worried that if they increased the dosage then they would over suppress me. My body is just wacked.

detroit2007 - Glad to see that AF is cooperating finally and now you can do your FET.

Kas - Where are you, did you find out anything from your RE today?

Interesting about them increasing your dosage and the reasons why. I am afraid this will happen to me as I was on BC pills for 6 weeks with my unplanned surgery delay. I have been supressed by two months and my DH can tell a change in my attitude...

If it does get canceled for me, well, I always have to look at the positive. For me its that I will have saved $16K out of pocket! YAHOO!! If they cancel the cycle it isn't a complete bust right, I would still try IUI or something...

Stay positive, like the woman on here that said she had her cyst shrink/disapear after BC pills, you too will get back on track after this adjustment. Imagine if they hadn't discovered it and the cycle failed or if you hyperstimulated or whatever.

I certainly had a bump in my road with the unplanned surgery but I am back on track. I often think that if I had continued with IUI and I never got prego and wasted a lot of time not knowing an embie would never implant in those conditions.

We are going down the right path, just a slow one, especially when its all you think about every minute of every day. I know you will be back on track with the adjusted doses, the body is an amazing thing and you will respond well!

Thank you gals!!

To_have_fun: You said they kept you on Lupron for like 2 weeks, and you were still not suppressed enough, so you went on it again for another week, then it was still high, so they kept you on a little longer?? Were you on the same dosage this whole time? They should have raised the Lupron level right?? Or was that what you meant when you said you'd done a cycle before and you were UNDER stimulated?? That makes sense as to why for the next cycle they didn't want to increase your dosage to much. Dam.. Seems like you really DO have to have done a cycle before so that you know what your body's gonna do!! ha ha..
They are raising my Lupron dosage to 20 IUs for the next 3 nights and by Thursday morning I pray that I am suppressed enough. If I am not, I pray that I have the grace and understanding to get through it.
Yes, I was on BCP from Oct. 20 - to Oct. 31. Started 10 IUs Lupron on Oct. 27- will be on it thru next week..
Now, question: Can this cycle still be turned into an IUI if my E2 levels stay high and I can't start stim meds?? I would of course be willing to do that - I've never done an IUI - so it may very well work for me..

Babyhope : Thank you so much. Kind of funny - you said "Stay positive, like the woman on here that said she had her cyst shrink/disapear after BC pills, you too will get back on track after this adjustment."
I believe that was ME who said that! Not this past week, but the week before, I went in and had a cyst on my ovary, so the Doc said to me: ya know, the BCP may clear this up, but if not, some changes will have to occur in your cycle and the timing and everything. They put me on the BCP and planned to check on the cyst 7 days later. I prayed. FOUR days later, the cyst was gone. God has gotten me thru many hurdles. I'm not sure why I tend to forget that each time a new crisis comes my way.

I am praying ladies.. not only for me, but for you guys too! Thank you so much for answering my questions.. The support here is invaluable... May we all get our miracles ;)

Love_my_baby - I was on Lupron a total of 5 weeks before they canceled. No they never upped my dosage. My fist canceled cycle I was on 20 U of Lupron and it suppressed me too much. When I went to stims I had a dominate follicle and only grew 2 or 3 more follicles so I was canceled and turned into and IUI. On my 2nd cycle they lowered my dosage to 10 u and this is when they couldn't suppress me enough. I was on Lupron for 5 weeks total. They didn't up my dosage because they didn' t want to oversuppress me again. So that is my story. Yes the first cycle is always a chemistry test to see how you will respond. As far as doing IUI, I don't know about that you would have to ask your RE. I know the Lupron keeps you from ovulating but I don't know if you will ovulate in a normal manner right after going off. wishing you the best of luck.

Yea, so maybe since I've jsut been on 10 IUs of Lupron, the 3 days of 20 IUs will be just what I need to bring those E2 levels down to what I need. I guess you just never know. And thats what my doc keeps saying you know. He would love for me to be paitent, b/c there just is no telling what will happen! Just have to wait and see. But boy ain't that aggravating!! he he..

Thanks so much Chris. What a big help ..

love my baby, that is so funny it was YOU who had the cyst. Man, you have officially had everything now! It sounds like you have some relief with what was going through your mind earlier so that is good. I wish you all the best.

As for everyone, I found this on a Chicago fertility clinic site as I was researching love my baby's supression issues, it also relates to our earlier concerns of birth defects in IVF verses natural babies:

“Children resulting from IVF have the same incidence of birth defects as children conceived without medical intervention. The process may seem a little artificial at times, but we can assure you that these babies will kick, spit-up, scream and keep you awake at nights just like any other baby.”

No kidding, here is the site:

All my hope,

Hi all,
Robin611-congratulations on your embryos, a great number, keep us updated.

Welcome detroit2007.

Welcome rwb08, I don’t know anything about pre-ovulation. Ours is male infertility too, but I’m sorry to say I havne't been able to find out too mch helpful about it. DH is staying out of hot tubs and taking some vitamins and herbs that are supposed to help, but none of it is doctor prescribed and he hasn’t gone back in yet to test and see if it’s made a difference. Unfortunately it seems like there aren’t a lot of options.

havbaby1627 I always get panicked about running out of Lurpon too. Fortunately it’s not hugely expensive so if you do end up with an extra bottle it’s not the end of the world. Hopefully your RE gave you a good estimation of how much more you’ll need.

Melo_P, let us know how your retrieval went.

Welcome xcited2Bpreggers, pain and cramping is pretty normal I think so I wouldn’t worry too much.

Welcome Grateful.

CONGRATULATIONS Sloan88!!

Melissag, I’m so, so sorry. Know that we are all here for you.

NY4thtry, congratulations on your embryos.

Gina1234, you’re almost to your retrieval, just hang in there! Good luck triggering and ER later this week.

Love_my_baby, I would trust your RE on this one, I’ve never had this happen to me, but I think adjusting the Lupron dosage will get your levels down. Babyhope1 answered this better than I did, so read her post. Stay positive and even cancelled cycles give your RE good information for future protocols. I also wanted to say that I really appreciate your comments about IVF being a crapshoot, it’s so easy to forget that and to just give up hope once you’ve been through this a few times.

To_have_fun, I take my Lupron in the morning and I always set it out right by my breakfast things so I don’t forget. I’m glad this forum literally helped you remember!

Kareninvancouverisland, hang in there, it sounds like you’ve hit one of the low points in the rollercoaster ride of the 2ww. Hang in there and keep posting here!

Much Hope, congratulations on such wonderful numbers and good luck with your decision on how many to put back in.

Welcome kke, 11 follicles is great!

Welcome JennJenn.

Foreverlove, it’s normal to be worried about your injections but they will go fine. Just take your time. Will your DH be on hand to help you if you need it?

I had a little scare last week, I have this sebaceous cyst in one of my armpits, it got really infected a couple of years ago so I took meds and it went away for a while but eventually came back. Well, it started to get irritated last week and I started to worry it would get infected again and I really want to be healthy going into our FET. I went in to see my family doctor and he gave me a prescription for some meds but said to wait and only take them if it got a lot worse. So I’m just applying hot compresses to it and hoping that it gets better.

I was also feeling really depressed about all things IVF last week. I knew it was just AF getting ready to come but I just couldn’t help it.

All is better this week and I actually have a slight change in plans. AF came just in time for us to get in for our FET on November 20. We had planned to do it the day after Thanksgiving because I have that day off of work. But DH and I figured that the earlier we do this, the earlier we get our results! So I quick went in for bw today, and assuming that’s all good, I’ll decrease my Lupron dosage from 20 to 10 units and start my estrace pills tomorrow. I’m really pumped about being able to do it earlier.

Good luck to all in the 2ww!

Hey everyone! Wow, I'm not able to get online that much and I always miss so much. There's no way I can keep up with personals on everyone, but I wanted to say a couple things and update on me. I now have 20 follicles and my estrogen was a little over 3000 today - that seems high to me  , but I don't really know a whole lot about where the numbers should be. I took my HCG shot about an hour ago and my ER will be Wednesday morning. I am excited, but also nervous. My ET is tentatively scheduled for Saturday morning. Please pray for me!!! I will get back on probably Thurs. night and update.

Sloan88 - Congrats on your BFP!!! I know you must be excited.

Melissag - So sorry to hear about your BFN; hang in there! You will be in my prayers.

Wonderce - I was just wondering if we were going to the same clinic since we were both from North CArolina. I'm going to C.A.R.S. If you don't mind me asking, are you going there or somewhere else?

adjec - So happy to hear that everything is going okay for you and it must be amazing to have an ultrasound and see a gestational sac instead of a follicle! I hope you enjoy every minute of your pregnancy.

Good luck to everyone at whatever stage there at!!! I hope to hear about some more BFP's when I log back on!
