Please Help!

Post by angelaezra »

Hello everyone,

I have been panicking for the last two days because I started seeing brownish discharge yesterday. So I called my RE and they said they did not think there was anything wrong and I should worry about large bleeding with severe cramping. Ok so today at work I noticed pinkish-red spotting with no cramping. Of course, I panicked again and called them up right away, I was actually on my way to the emergency room. But she assured me this still could be implantation bleeding and I should worry if it gets heavy with crampy. She also suggested I take 400mg of Ibuprofen to calm my uterus down. I am wondering if the Prometrium transvaginal that I still take three times a day is irritating my uterus because my progesterone levels were 150 on Tuesday and I am currently 5 weeks and 2 days pregnant.

Has anyone else experienced this as well and what did you do?

Any comments will help!

Thanks,

Angela

brown spotting is normal! as long as you aren't cramping. Brown is old blood clearing out. I spotted a little in 9 weeks, BLED during week 10 and then spotted every day until week 13 when it miraculously stopped.

renee - I did ganirelix on this last cycle and it's good you're not on BCP. I don't think it's good to supress anything at our age.

we had a great ultrasound. baby B was bouncing in a pattern like he had a hiccup propelling him, Baby A waved - five fingers! magical. We told our families yesterday. so fun. and close friends. we have gotten crib offers and baby clothes offers and stroller offers and its great. really helps take the pressure off not having to buy everything.

too bee - you're almost there!

stefanie - Congrats that your little ones are doing so good. I know that has to be exciting every time you get to do an u/s.

SueQuiwi - Thanks for checking up on me on the other board. Have you decided what you are doing next? Hoping that the pain of your BFN is subsiding a little. I also know your pain of gaining weight. All my pants are a little tight and the only way I will get bigger ones is if I get PG. If this cycle doesn't work, I am taking time off and losing weight before I try again.

Val and Turtles - Hope you gals are still having fun on vacation.

TooBee - sorry you didn't like the barbie thing. We don't all fit into their categories. How is your stopped up issues? Did the doc's medication help any.

Amanda - So glad your little ones are also doing good. Keep us posted. Glad you had fun on vacation.

Hope everyone else is doing good.

I am going out of town this weekend to visit my sister. I haven't seen her new baby yet so that should be a treat. I also get to take my 2yr old nephew trick-or-treating, he is so cute. It will be tough because they have the most fertile neighborhood. Out of about 50 house there is around 40 kids and most of them are under age 8. I guess I will just have to suck up my emotions and have fun. DH will be there so he can keep my sanity in check.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Can I just say how nice it is to be finished w/ the vaginal suppositories 3x/day?!! For the first time in MONTHS I don't have to wear a pad or feel like I'm wearing a diaper to bed. So nice.

Friend is dropping off her old cribs this morning. We have nowhere to put them. LOL. Oh well.

Everyone sounds good. Someone on another thread I am on had a weak cervix and miscarried her multiples. It freaked me out. I guess we're never out of the woods are we?

Wow! Where did everyone go. The board just died.

TooBee - Where are you at, you are usually posting every other day or so. I even checked the May Mommy 2-Be board and you haven't posted there so now I am getting worried about you.

Stepanie - I couldn't even imagine taking those suppositories 3x a day. When I had my 1st cycle canceled and turned into an IUI I was told I had a choice of suppositories or PIO shots. First I was going to choose ths suppositories but then I thought about what a PITA they would be i just chose to do the shots. Yes, I knew I would get a sore behind but I didn't want the inconvience of doing the suppositories. Congrats on getting off of them. So are you still traveling a lot.

Hope everyone else is good.

Hey, I am still reading the posts. I have been meaning to write since I got back but have been very busy. Looks like I will be traveling again at the end of the week. My Grandpa died and I have to fly to Washington State. That is a long flight I am not looking forward too. I hope I don't throw up. I had been feeling better, but the last few days the m/s came back.

Chris - Alright on getting to start again. I am rooting for you. Good luck!! How was the trick or treating? It was nice here, my son got loads of candy that is still sitting on the table tempting me. He is a good kid that eats a few pieces only a day. Drives my DH crazy. He would have finished them all in one sitting.

stefanie - Glad you are done with the suppositories. I was really glad to stop the shots. That was weeks ago and my butt is still sore!!! Sounds like you had a great u/s. It is nice you have the cribs taken care of.

Renee - Woohoo on your December start. Hope DH makes it home on time. Good luck!!!!

SueQiwi- no roller coasters for me. Not my son either. He is not into scary rides. I also have gained quite a bit of weight through this process that I didn't need in the first place. I am only 12 weeks along and look a lot further along than that. :( It is all worth it in the end.

toobee- Happy belated Birthday! Glad you are starting to feel human again. I had a week without actually vomiting (still had nausea) and thought things were looking up. yesterday it all came back. That and I am getting a cold. Hope you have turned the corner.

val - Hope you are having a relaxing vacation. Thinking of you.

Universal was o.k. I was really tired and it took it even more out of me. My son liked seeing Spiderman and Scooby. After our business on Monday we went to the Science Center and he enjoyed that the most. Go figure. It was nice to get back, but I am so far behind on my homework and really having a hard time thinking. Thank God I have an understanding female teacher who is giving me a break. Well, better get back to it. (or at least staring at the screen blankly :) Hope everyone is doing well and don't forget to vote tomorrow!!!

I had to do shots AND progesterone suppositories 3x/day. I stopped the shots about 3-4 weeks ago now. It was a lot.

Not traveling too much. We'll go back to DC to see the show a couple of times, but my husband will be with me and we'll drive down and just see the show (no work involved)

today I have a foot thing feels like I strained or broke something??? just a really weird pain down there.

glad everyone is well. I too cannot wait to vote tomorrow.

stefanie - You had to do shots and suppositories. Man someone doesn't like you. It is all worth it seeing that you have 2 cute little beans growing in side you. Relax and enjoy.

Turtles - So glad you had fun at Universal. Are you getting caught back up with your school work. I am taking 1 class now that is pretty much a joke the only thing is that I will have a 10 page paper due. If all goes well the due date for the paper will be the same week as my Beta. UUUUGGGGHHHH so much pressure. I am a slacker and can only take one class at a time. Though they are eight week classes so technically I get 2 classes in a regular semester. I also take off the summer. The only reason why I am going to school is because my work will pay for it and it also looks good for my eval every year that I am going to school. I just hate school.

Val - Can't wait to hear how your vacation went.

So everyone please keep your fingers crossed for me. I have my baseline u/s and b/w tomorrow. Getting my E2 levels in check has been an issue so I am always worried something will be wrong at my baseline appointment. I am so pessimistic that I haven't even ordered my meds yet. I will get on that right after I get the OK to start meds.

Hope everyone has a good day. Happy voting.

Good morning girls!!

I'm back from vacation and thought I would have a ton of catching up to do!! But the thread has been quiet!
I am very happy to see that you are all doing well, the babies are growing healthy and strong. I could not use my laptop while on vacation and had to wait until I got home to read about all of you.

Toobee~ So sorry to have missed your B-Day! Happy belated Birthday, Sweetie!! I'm so glad your up and doing more after being bed ridden for so long. I'm sure that had something to do with your constipation. I hope you're getting it resolved as we speak. You've been quiet on the board and I hope you are doing well.

Turtles~ I am so sorry about your Grandpa passing. Great big hugs for you! You're doing a lot of traveling and you sound tired. Plus the studying. Try to take it easy as much as you can. It's wonderful that you have an understanding teacher, that is so much help.
Keep up the good work! The m/s should be subsiding in the next few days!

Stefanie~ Congrats again! Telling your family must have been so much fun! And getting all the help you're getting is fantastic! You have your two cribs already and tons more stuff coming.
I understand totally about wearing a pad every day. I just stopped wearing one yesterday.
The US sounds like it was so much fun to watch!

Chris~ How are your stims going? Any reports on the follies count? I haven't checked the other board you're on.
How about your cute little nephew, did you have a great time trick or treating? I sure hope you kept your sanity with all the kids running around you. I'm thinking about you and sending you all the sparkly baby dust!!!

Renee~ You are too funny with the IVF barbies! I must be a combination of Newbie and Veteran Barbie. I just want to be a pregnant Newbie/Veteran Barbie. :D
I'm glad you're starting stims again without BCPs! It will be an interesting Christmas and I hope you get the best present in the world!! You are brave to do all this by yourself.

SueQiwi~ I can totally relate to your pain and your anger. Feeling the same for the time being. I'm so glad you're going to try again and so will I. As long as we live our feelings instead of burying them, we will be fine. As time goes by, the feelings change and we will have the strength and the PMA to carry us. No desire for sex right now on my side either. I know it will come back. Our bodies go through quite a bit of trauma with the hormones all over the place. And it takes time to get back to a normal level.

Amanda~ Good to hear from you and so glad all is well.

My vacation was good. I had a chance to forget about IVF for a few days and it felt good. Now I'm back home and my head gets filled up with it all again.
We went to visit several places around Norfolk and the weather was rather nice. The leaves were starting to change which I love. It was a nice time to relax.

I'm still struggling with my cousin's pregnancy and the fact that I'm not anymore. It is just hard to have all those feelings. I'm still feeling angry to a certain degree and still very sad. Yet, overall I think I'm doing ok.
I'm thinking about my next cycle but I'm not 100% in it yet. I assume I would start around January.

Good to be back online and communicating with all of you. I missed you all!

Much love,

Hey Valerie - welcome back! so glad you got a break. there are so many feelings to sort but you sound wonderful.

To have fun - let us know how it goes. You've been there for all of us and we want to hear.

I waited an hour and a half to vote today and then had to go to the post office and wait for 30 minutes. I'm wiped and sitting w/ my feel up for the rest of the day.

Renee - Can they put you on BCP and Lupron to control your cycle so you don't have another period before your DH returns?

To Have Fun - Good luck with the tests!

I too enjoyed both suppositories 3 times a day and progesterone shots every few days. I guess since my first attempt didn't work and I just did suppositories, I figured maybe the shots helped it work the second time! But regardless...how happy I am to be done with both!

Glad you were able to enjoy your trip Valerie. It was perfect timing for you to get away. Take some time off from worrying about IVF for a while. It's amazing how exhausting it can be.

I had my 12 week ultrasound and genetic tests this week and everything was great! Woohoo! So I'm going to start looking around for a winter coat for the Chicago winter with a belly. I've looked online and everyone says to get one early because they don't have them later in the winter.

Hope all is well with everyone. Good luck to those stimming and getting ready for a cycle.
