I just wanted to let everyone know about the clinic I went to in Kiev, Ukraine for egg Donation. I know, it sounds mad, but we didn't want to spend years trying to find and prepare a donor. We took a huge leap of faith, and went out to Kiev.
Wow is all I can say! We were surprised at the level of facilities- better than I have seen in the UK. We could no believe the price, and the fact that there was no waiting list.
Anyway, the only thing that really matters is results - We have a breathtakingly lovely, healthy son!
I wish we had know before about this clinic, we could have saved ourselves YEARS of agony, heartbreak and pain.
Hi, I'm also considering going to ISIDA so would appreciate any info ... where did you stay and did the hospital arrange that sort of thing for you? How much was the overall cost and how long did you have to stay in Kiev? I'm wanting to use my sister as a donor so hoping that will be possible there, and that we don't have to stay in Kiev for too long. Did you start meds at home or was everything done at ISIDA?

I am also considering going to Kiev for egg donation to Isida, but I am Ukrainian. Currently I am contacting them on avaibility of the matching donor. I had before egg donation in Lviv, but it did not work out. Now we are considering going to Kiev. When are you going to go to Kiev?
I've got ISIDA twins aged 18 months, it was my first try after a terrible time in this country. I would recommend ISIDA - a great clinic, also loved Kiev its a great city with fab things to do and too many good restaurants.
Thanks everyone for your advice and encouragement! We are waiting at the moment until we have the necessary finances but if and when we go ahead I'll let you know! It's great to hear success stories! Does anyone have advice about where to stay in Kiev? We want to do it as cheaply as possible - rent an apartment short-term where we can wash, cook etc.
The first time I went, I wanted to see the clinic and have a consultation before making up mind and I stayed at The Impressa hotel which was great for a nice weekend getaway but too pricey for an 8 day stay.
When we went back for the implantation we booked an apartment through Kiev-lets. They have a website whenere you can see the apartment. We booked a central apartment with a DVD player (took the first series of 24 and Lost). We were also given a free phone for local calls only, this proved really handy as Lora (from ISIDA) would call us and let us know she had ordered a cab to collect us.
Just another tip, booked the apartment for 8 nights, paid paypal for the first night and cash (euros) where he met us outside the apartment, showed us around.
I am currently looking into IVF with donor eggs and have emailed Larisa at ISIDA this morning so am waiting to hear back.
Any information you could give me on ISIDA would be much appreciated. I am especially worried about language difficulties.
Boobooday, congrats on your twins. Any other information you can provide would be much appreciated. How long did you have to wait from initial consultation until embryo transfer? Can you give a rough idea of cost too? What is the nearest airport to the clinic? Do you live in the UK? How long was the flight from UK to Kiev? Do you know if you need a visa to travel to the Ukraine? Sorry for so many questions.

Hi Pauline! I haven't yet started the IVF process as my husband and I want to be sure it's the right step (and get the money together first), but I've been doing a fair amount of research. The basic cost of the treatment and support system at ISIDA is €1,900 - though that's if using known donors as I think an anonymous donor would require an extra 600 euro approx as compensation. That doesn't cover medication, which would cost €2,000 approx if you get it from the Ukraine - may be cheaper at home if you can use a drugs payment scheme. Including flights, accommodation for 12 days etc my husband and I reckon the total would be around €6 - 7,000 which is quite a bit less in pounds sterling. Not a bad price when compared with other clinics. The ISIDA told us if we started medications here (for us that's Ireland) we needn't go there until the final scans and actual transfer etc has to take place which would be about 12 days. We could have the initial testing and scans done at home and our local GP would act as liaison sending info to the clinic. Alternatively you could fly to the ISIDA for an earlier appointment and have testing / scans etc done there. God bless you and let us know what happens!
Another point - you asked about the proximity of airports etc. Part of the ISIDA support system that's included in the whole price is that they meet up w you at the airport and take you to your accommodation, also arrange cabs to get you to and from the clinic.

I also looked at SIMS which is in Dublin but they are over €12000 and the waiting list is approx 9 months. They use a clinic in Ukraine (not Isida) and my husband said to cut out the middle man and go direct to the clinic.
I had a reply from Isida this afternoon and it looks like it is working out to €4000 approx but this excludes meds for me and any preliminary bloods/tests for myself and husband plus flights and accommodation. I've asked if Isida can give me a budget for this, so your figures help - Thanks.
So now I've got 3 clinics I'm looking at with a possible 4th in Poland.
Cefer in Barcelona, Ceram in Marbella, Isida in Ukraine and Invimed in Poland.
I'm hoping we can make a decision soon as I'm 40 next year and would love to be pregnant by then, so fingers crossed.
