Hi All

Huge congrats to all the new BFP's!!! Wow that is a really great run on the board! This must be the lucky thread - hope I can help keep it up.

Sorry your cycle got cancelled love my baby - good luck if you decide to try next time.

4th Try I think we transfered on same day - did it go okay?

I had my transfer yesterday - and am hopeful but a bit bitter sweet. Out of 17 eggs which they got 12 embryos from and seemed to be developing okay - on transfer day they only two decent embryo's - and they still insisted on transfering only one. So was a bit gutted!

The second embby they thought could be okay to freeze - they actually decided not to freeze because of some fragmentation - so they are culturing them on to see if any make it to blast stage. I was totally gutted they thought none were freezable at day 3 - there were plenty of 8 cell ones in there but with minor fragementation) but seems they don't think good enough to freeze! So awful to feel this is out of your hands - I just wish they would freeze them anyway and chance the thawing. So maybe the embby they transfered is the only chance this cycle. Oh please stick little embby.

Hope everyone is well. All the best to those coming up with collections and transfers and of course the beta day.

My beta is on November 17th XXXXXXXXXXXX (everything crossed)

Wow, this board is really popping! I read everyone's posts, and by the time I'm done, I just don't have the time to do personals to everyone I want to. But I am still here and I'm pulling for everyone.

To those that had their cycles cancelled, I am so sorry. What a dissappointment. But all you do is dust off and start again!

To the BFP's - Congratulations of course!!! Take it easy and enjoy!

Hil - this is my third try also....I'm trying to muster up more excitement, but my last two cycles have left a bad taste in my mouth. Don't get me wrong, I want this more than anything - I guess I've just put my gaurd up this time.

Val - it was nice to hear from you! How are you doing????

As for me.....just doing my thing and waiting for AF which will arrive either today or tomorrow, then stims. I've been so weepy and emotional this week - I guess a combo of pms and estrace.

I wish everyone a wonderful day!!! Happy Friday!

Good Morning ladies:

Val, Karen, Amanda, Thank you so much for the best wishes. You guys have helped me so much through this journey. I find it so amazing that through it all everyone here always has something positive to say. It helps when you feel there is no hope.

I pray for each and everyone one of us that the miricle that we seek finds us this time around. I want to deeply to log on to thios site and see yet another BFP. I cannot wait to be able to follow everyones journey to motherhood and then read the he/she/ they have arrived!!!

I am 6 hours away from my transfer and more nervous now then I have been through this entire journey. I prayed that when DH and I get there this afternoon that our PGD report is wonderful and we have many healthy embryos from our rather large fertilized bunch..

I know in my heart that our baby/ies are just waiting to snuggle in, and I cannot wait to provide them that home.

Much sticky baby dust ladies and may this just be the beginning of a life long journey of happiness

Elida, best of luck with your transfer this morning! Can't wait for your next update. I see your DH has a big b-day coming up and hope you will be able to give him some wonderful news.

Jill, hope you get AF soon. She sure does take her time when we want her to come, and then shows up sometimes when we don't want her to!

Melo, good to hear your update from ET yesterday. It's surprising that they wouldn't have tried to put in more or freeze them, but you're right, that part sounds like it was out of your hands. As many told me and I know you've heard before, it only takes one. Everything is crossed for you.

Amanda, I didn't know they did ER without putting you out. I was given anesthesia and don't remember anything until I awoke, then of course had some pain but they gave some meds to help. Glad you made it through. Good luck Saturday, will be anxious to hear your next report!

Karen, I've read about the power of positive thinking, so I certainly don't think it could hurt to believe you are PG. You are PUPO after all. You've got less than a week to wait!

Rosario, I'm not much help on your question. I don't ovulate on my own or have AF without meds so I think my RE's protocol for me was different each time. I know you must be so ready to get started.

Chris, I'll be curious to see what your next b/w looks like after you up your dose. When do you go again?

Lady J, congrats on starting stims hopefully tomorrow night. What stim meds will you be using?

Love my Baby, sorry to hear your levels didn't go down enough to get started. What is your next step? We are thinking of you.

NY4th, will be thinking of you today at 3:30. :D

Thanks everyone for the congrats! Still feels like it's a dream.

Hi ladies, well I started my Lupron shots this morning. I was so surprised I didn’t even feel the needle go in at all. :D Now I just continue with these shots daily until my ultrasound on Nov. 21. I have to continue on the bcp thru Nov. 13. I hate taking the bcp as it makes me feel bloated and I have literally gained 4 lbs since starting those two weeks ago. Ugh!!! :(

Congratulations to all the BFP’s, that is wonderful!!!! You are truly an inspiration to keep up our PMA!!!

Much Hope – good luck at transfer today – snuggle in tight babies!!!!

Sending tons of baby dust to everyone in the tww!

Sorry to bring down anyone's PMA, but...

Post by JennLB25 »

Sorry, I have to vent and I'm at work and can't vent to anyone here (the attorney's don't want to hear it).

Ya know, in my life, if something can go wrong - it will!!

I just found out that I have two lumps on my thyroid (one on each side). I now have to go to a specialist to see if they are malignant. Come on already. I've waited 11 years to get this close to a BFP and now I may have to wait longer!! I swear, the (devil) is wearing me thin and he's loving every minute of it. GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!! I don't know how much more I can take!!!

My RE said that as long as my thyroid is working correctly and as long as the lumps are not malignant, we can move forward with the Lupron in December and ER and ET in January.

Anyway, just had to vent for a minute. Sorry girls, my PMA went out the window real quick this last week.

Hope you all are having a better week than I am!!!

Good luck on your cycles and CONGRATS TO THOSE WHO GOT BFP'S!!!!

JennLB25. Omg. I am praying that those lumps are just pesky lumps with no potential harm to your body. Seriously.

MuchHope: Fingers crossed for you! Just enjoy your down time this weekend and let those little bubs nest in!!!

So, what is Lupron and what does it do? I am curious since so many of you have been talking about it.

I'm a newbie at this all and this is even my first time posting ever on any message board!

I'm 37 (will turn 38 in jan) and my DH is 37. We have major male factor issues (2% morphology). We've been trying for four years and just last year decided to try IUI. We had four failed ones and were ready to throw in the towel but decided to give ourselves one more shot with one cycle of IVF. We can pay for one ET and hopefully have another chance with FET if we have any embryos left over.

I started my BCP's a week and a half ago and at this point i've only had lupron shots for 3 days. ER is set for possibly the day after thanksgiving. i start the stim shots (follistim and menipur) on the 17th.

Today is fiinally a day where i don't feel overwhelmed - i actually feel pretty good. At first just getting the meds delivered in time from the pharmacy was a nightmare and by the time i finally got the box, i sort of freaked a little - i found myself completely surrounded at the kitchen table by a sea of syringes and wondering, how did i get myself into this??? i'm a COMPLETE needle phobe so that was the worst part - then the hysteroscopy hurt like hell and the first shot also hurt way more than i'd thought it would.

since then DH has been experimenting a little and we've been icing the spot before hand and I've been lying down so when he does it i can stay perfectly still - that has helped. Also ordered a numbing creme LMX5% which i heard will help my wimpiness too...

it's great to read your thread and has helped me feel less insane in all this,

good luck to you all,

bonnie_bc: This is what I found on Lupron: The first medication starts on about day 21 of the woman's cycle and is called Lupron. The purpose of this medicine is to "down-regulate" the pituitary gland with regard to production of FSH and LH. This allows us to have more complete control of the subsequent stimulation of the ovaries. This medicine is given as a subcutaneous injection with a small needle and is usually given into the thigh. These injections continue for about 14-25 days.

I was told that I am on Lupron to control when I ovulate as we are shooting for a specific week to do ER/ET as my DH and I are off for 11 days around Thanksgiving and would like to do it at that time.

This is my first IVF so I am not that knowledgeable about it, but I hope this helps.

My RE didn't use Lupron at all. We used birth control pills and I had a calendar for when I was supposed to stop taking them. There are seriously so many different ways the docs can do this stuff!!

Anyway, I just had my 2nd beta. I am relieved as my first beta was only 14. My 2nd beta was 28 so RE were pleased. Since it's still low, I go again to test on Monday and it should be more than dbl my new number! Whew!

Hello everyone!
Again a huge congrats to all those with a BFP!!! That's absolutely wonderful! :D
Good luck muchhope, NY and amanda on your ET's & to karen on your 2ww - sorry if I missed anyone - it's hard keeping up on all this so, if I missed ya, good luck to you too! Sending you all extra sticky baby dust!!! :D
I am so sorry to hear things got postponed for you lovemybaby. I truly hope you haven't lost faith in that this can happen for you and will keep trying.
That really sucks about your thyriod jenn, I hope that those bumps are nothing but bumps and don't get in the way of your plans.
I had my US and bloodwork done today and found out all my levels are good and I have over 20 follicles. So, I am starting the Bravelle and Menopur tonight and will be going in again for more bloodwork on Tuesday next week. Then it's ER time!! AHHH - I can't believe it's going by so fast! I just pray that everything from the meds to the procedures goes well.
I wanted to ask, do you guys know if your DH is allowed with you during the ER & ET? I'm going to ask my doc myself but, I thought I'd see if any of you were able to before I get a chance to talk to them on Monday. With my anxiety, my DH is like my security blanket and I believe that as long as he can be there till I am knocked out and am waking up from my ER and during the ET, I will be calm...well, feel more at ease anyway and having him there would really help me not freak out as much. Especially during the ET since I'll be awake. I just have this fear of the unknown and while my doc is great and the staff is as well, there's nothing like the comfort of your DH!
As always, you're all in my prayers...good luck to everyone!!

Havebaby1627-I hate to repeat her but we are on the exact same schedule. I stick myself with three needles nightly now, you ladies kindly refer to it as stimming. At my ultrasound they saw 8 follies in one ovary and 7 in the other. I do my follow up b/w on Tuesday also.

JennLB25-I am so sorry to hear about your recent obsticle. I too had one myself as I flunked my HSG. I was thinking that it was a good idea for us to have IVF otherwise they never would have found these strange growths in my uterus. They kindly refered to them as polyps which I googled the heck out of and learned polyps are "tumors" which is defined as unknown growths. That scared the heck out of me because I had surgery to remove part of my cervix when I was 23 for precancerous cells. Anyway, I was blowing it all up that these tumors were cancerous and it had migrated up my uterus in my mind. It turned out to be residual placental tissue from my twins but it too stopped my IVF for an additional 6 weeks.

When its all you think about every minute of every hour of every day it is impossible to get away from. Luckily it was nothing but I didn't sleep well for a couple of weeks until the surgery.

Anyway, I wish the best to you and if you can say anything positive about it, at least they found it, and if it isn't anything to worry about you can continue your IVF journey. I pray for you. Bonnie will attest to the power of my prayers! HA! I just have to believe its in God's hands and he takes care of us. Who better to understand a rollercoaster out of our control than IVF women!

All my hope to those waiting for betas and ER/ET.

Hi ladies,

I want to say thank you to everyone for your support. You helped me get through my first cycle... My transfer went wonderful. We put back 2 grade 1 expanded female blasts, and 1 grade 2 female blast.

PGD report was nothing less then amazing, WE had 9 females normal and 3 males that were normal. 5 were not normal and will be disgarded. I still cannot believe how many females we had. The embriologist did not want to put more then the 2 grade 1's, Her and Dr T feel that with my lining be so optimal that they will most definitly produce twins. DH and I wanted to be sure so we insisted on putting back 3...
