Hi Colleen!

I was thinking of you all this week....it was TWO YEARS AGO TODAY that my little eggs were retrieved for IVF....TWO YEARS! Wow!

I'm sorry to hear about your neighbor's boy. You're probably right about that fact that she's not "around to see it". Another thing to consider--he might have a lot of stress--and might be trying to soothe himself (the hair pulling, rocking, etc.) My little sister had issues with hair pulling when she was younger...I've read that comfort objects (like blankeys, etc.) are supposed to be a good soothing helper, so that the child doesn't pull the hair. I'd keep hinting around though...you're right, the earlier it's diagnosed, the better. (Especially if there's a relative with it--you could always recommend that she let her pedi know about the relative, just so he can "keep an eye" on her son, kwim?) That's so tough. I hope she at least gets him checked out soon.

Good luck with the sensory therapy. I hope he gets over it really soon! That has to be frustrating for both of you. I LOVE LOVE LOVE his picture on the bucket! He looks like such a big boy! Where have our little babies gone?

We are down to one nap....most days! We're still dealing with crankiness at dinner time, but it's getting better. Both kids have colds this week, which is tough. But, they are growing and learning so much every day. I'm just amazed at what they can do, even since this summer! They're going to be Raggedy Ann and Andy for Halloween. What are your boys being for Halloween?

I have a little video on the bucket of the kids dancing at a carnival...you should check it out! I posted it back in September. It's hilarious!

I hope the rest of you are good! I would love to hear an update! Tasha, I know you love halloween, right? What is your princess going to be?

Are any of you trying for another baby? I figure that some of you might? I'm happy with my pair, so we're done....for now. ellie is such a busy baby, that I barely have time to cook dinner! I can't imagine having another one right now. Thank GOD that Braeden is more mellow...

Kim,your right this time two years ago,i was just nearly ready for round 4!! Doesnt time fly, cant believe sometimes still that im a mummy. We have only 1 frozen embie at the hospital, sometimes i think i need to give that one a chance of life too,but what are the chances of 1 defrosting then implanting..then again i think what if it does, not sure i could cope with another one, maybe my age (im 37) was my bday last week!! On the other hand i dont want to live with what ifs???

How is everyone else and the babies doing..Hope all is well..xx

hi there kim-
i did see the video after i posted the picture but didn't have time to say that i  LOVED  it... it was totally cute...it was just the other day... i looked at gavin and thought... "he's not a baby anymore" i've had "that" moment...
cute idea on the halloween costumes.. my 4 YO DS is still trying to figure out what he wants to be.. he wanted to be diego and i thought that i could have gavin be baby jaguar... do not know if you have seen the diego cartoon or not... my 7 YO DS wants to be a chicago bears player... easy.. i'm trying to get at least two of my guys to do something together...
i was thinking too... two years ago today i had my first ultrasound.... holy cow... wow.. i read two years from your post... but didn't hit till i typed it... i still am torn for another baby... i know that the likely hood of it even happening is...well none really... but i cann't accept it yet... dh is so done tho... he said that there is no way 4 boys.. but i'd love to try for a girl...

nicola-good to hear from you... glad that jack is well, and found the wonderful word NO... happy late b-day.. hopefully you'll figure out what to do with the last one frostie... i always thiought that i would just know... and i havn't... there are days that i'd say we are ok, but more days i would say that we could try one more time.. other people say that i'm crazy... i have my 3 boys ( i'm so happy with them!!!) but i still think that i have more in me to give if we had one more.. somethimes i just feel like i'm selfish..other times i feel that i'm a great mom, and could be great with one more... i'm hoping that time will tell...

well, girls.... i hope that everyone else other there is doing great and having a wonderful time as moms...

take care

hi there..posted some pictures and wanted to bump us up

saw the cute pictures kim, did they have fun?? did they eat any candy? Gavin was a little dragon... the kids made their choices last minute.. my 7 YO was a bloody ghost or something, my 4YO was iron man.. gavin was so tired that night... it was great... i took the stroller, but he wanted nothing to do with it, till we had gone a ways.. then welcome to the wonderfull world of chocolate!!!!

gavin ate a piece of chocolate... it's a big deal for him because he doesn't eat anything... we are starting sensory feeding therapy.. weird i know and it's done through a speech path... hopefully he'll start eating soon..

other then all of that we are ok... started to do the christmas shopping and have been totally busy...
take care

Colleen--Gavin was an adorable dragon! It looks like he LOVED the chocolate! Ellie and Braeden are now big fans of suckers...I didn't let them eat chocolate---I was too afraid! They got hyper enough just off the suckers! I'm glad that Gavin was willing to eat chocolate--sounds like he's making progress!

What are you getting Gavin for Christmas? I have no idea what to get the kids....I honestly haven't even begun looking....I am trying to figure out how I'm going to deal with the christmas tree, though....I think it will be a major hazard in our house!

hi kim-

as for christmas... i know the tree will be hard this year, but better next (from my past experience) but i'd keep the glass and ones that you want to keep towards the top... we do the one finger rule(still applies to my 4 YO DS)... they will want to touch, so i let them touch with only one finger, so as they can not pull it or take it off... it's worked so far, but i do not know how it will be with gavin... they will probably just get the hang of it, then it will be time to take it all down... i also have a tiny tree that i put in each of their rooms, that is theirs with only little plastic decorations, and they decorate it all themselves.. so if they want to touch... i'll let them touch their own tree.. .

good luck... you have two to defend off... my sister was a fan of a gate around the tree...

we are getting him the clippo table and the little people learn about town... some other ideas i've given people are.. step stool, bedding for a toddler or bigger bed, the step 2 thunderbolt racer, FP rock and roll trike,

your ones might like the elmo restaurant kitchen, or another kitchen.. we have a toy kitchen and the kids all love that-boys too... they play there all the time.. we've had our for 6 years and still get use out of it... I'll even catch my 7YO DS playing with it every noe and then...

the chocolate was the first new thing that he has tried.. so hopfully that will continue.. it would be nice to be eating table food by now..

hope that a few of the ideas might help... i'll let you know if i come up with any more

Yeah, Colleen, I've heard about the gate idea....only problem is we don't have one---and we have a pretty small house, so I want to avoid getting the playyard if I can...maybe do a little tree on our dining room table or something? We'll see....

We actually have a toy kitchen (it was my little sister's---it's old, but it's still in great shape!), so I thought about getting them little toy food/plates, etc to play with. I did see the Elmo one---it's really cool! I'll have to check out some of your other ideas--they sound like good ones!

The issue we're running into right now is they fight over EVERYTHING---even if we have two identical toys. So, ideally, I don't want to buy two of the same toy, but I want to get two toys that are similarly exciting, kwim? I better get busy with the shopping!

kim- hows it going... sorry to hear that they are fighting all the time, it's the age. they always want what the other has.... it will end... are they hitting and fighting over it.. have you done any shopping? i'm so so so far behind.. we are having thanksgiving here, and i've been doing things around the house (painting the kitchen, replacing the sink in the powderroom, and other things that have been bugging me.) so i've done no shopping... i do go out black friday, so hopfully everything will be gotten then....

i did see at target they have a BIG set of food and stufff for only $10.00.. they have the set at my 4YO preeschool, it's good.. the kids love it... my problem is that our kitchen is the interactive kind.. you put the hotdog on and it says... "yummy i like hotdogs" and the kids think that all the other food should work that way too... but just the few things that we got with it.

good luck on the tree decision... we are still looking for a tree, and we had to toss our old one (water damage) so i'm looking for a new one, they are so darn much money... that's money i could use for gifts.. .i'm still looking for a GREAT deal...

hope that you and your little ones are well, staying healthy in this cold snap... take care

hi there girls... hope that everyone is getting everything done for the holidays..

i posted a pict on photobucket... hope that everyone is well and doing good

gavin is getting big.. he is getting over brochitis and ear infections.. and had his 18month check up.. doing ok.. we are still in the sensory food therapy... so moving along with that.. the tree has been a consistant nag of "one".. he knows he can touch with one finger, and waits till i'm not looking to grab the whole thing and pull it off the tree.... he still says WOWWWW every time i turn it on, or when we are shopping and see lights.. it's so cute.. now that the cold weather is here.. he hates to get bundled up, and does not keep his mittens on... they say that is part of his sensory intollerance... i think it's just a 18 month old temper..

hope to hear from everyone as the kids are getting close to christmas and how much trouble they are getting into

Hi Everyone,

I know it has been a long time since I posted but I think of you all often and check in on everyone. It sounds like everyone is doing well and enjoying their little ones. Lily is doing great. She will be 18months next week (jeez, I can't believe it). She is still not walking, believe it or not, but she is getting closer. I try not to worry about it too much but it is hard not to. Other than that she is a 'typical' toddler. An angel one minute and then the next minute I'm checking for the 666's on the back of her head

As for Christmas. I'm just about done with my shopping. Amazon is having a huge toy sale and I have gotten some good buys. I'm trying not to go overboard, but it is so hard not to. I was also very concerned about the tree so I have a small one that I put in the corner and I positioned her toy box in front of it to act as a barrier so she (and our cat) can't cause to much damage. I also only put on "child friendly" ornaments. Nothing glass and no tinsel. I only used wood and plush ornaments so even if she does get her little hands on it hopefully she can not do too much harm to herself. So far (knock on wood) no major incidents.

I'll look on photobucket in a few to see your little ones and try to post a pic of Lily while I am there.

I promise to check back in soon and post some personals. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

Take care,
xoxo

Colleen--Gavin is turning into a BOY! He has gotten so big....no more baby for him, huh? He looks too cute. Thanks for the "one finger" rule advice with the Christmas tree. It's working SO FAR! :) We put the tree up yesterday. I only put up about 1/2 of our ornaments, and the lower ones are completely kid safe. So far, the kids are sticking to the rule! (Although, last night Braeden was actually kind of afraid of the tree, go figure!)

Nance--So good to hear from you! I thought maybe you'd forgotten about us! I bet lily will walk soon. I can't wait to see a pic of her! I got on the bucket tonight but didn't see one. I've been getting stuff on Amazon for Christmas too! The sales and free shipping were too hard to pass up!

I just posted a few pics of my kiddos on the Bucket. boy, that photo session was like herding cats! Getting two 18 month olds to sit at the same time is nearly impossible!

Oh, we also saw Santa on Saturday. They HATED it! I'm sure the santa visit will put them in therapy someday for sure!

hi there everyone.. hope that everyone survived the holidays... it was great... gavin was so much fun, altho he took for ever opening his gifts.. he enjoyed taking tiny pieces of the wrapping paper off, putting it in the garbage, then coming back to take the next tiny piece off.. ect..the first gift too FOREVER.. then we helped him speed things along a bit.. my other two are back to school today, so trying to get back on schedule.. DH has been off too, so we are all off schedule...

gavin is still not eating much at all, and we are still doing the food sensitivity therapy.. so we are hoping that soon he'll be eating better.. other then that, he is cutting his final eye tooth, i think that it cut through (other then his missing one)

over break we gutted and redid the boys upstairs hall bath.. what a project!! but we are done, well except for the border.. waiting for that to come...

how did everyone elses babes do for the holidays... any good stories? did they rip open the gifts??

kim.. i checked out your pictures... they are too cute.. i know you put them there a while ago, and i saw them, just forgot to say that they are soo cute.. they look so different... does one look like you and the other DH?

well.. happy new year to all, hope that 2009 brings more happiness and continued health!!

hi there girls... hope that everyone is doing well, and staying healthy.. we are finally starting to warm up a little.. last weekend was BAD really BAD.. the kids had no school on thursday and friday because it was soo cold.. so they were all going stir crazy.. good to have them back in school today.

kim-did you happen send in a video to Americas funniest Home Videos? there was one with a dog, and the kid looked exactly like braeden.. it was really cute.. it was on sunday... and i thought that you said that you had a dog too...

nance- is lily walking??

other then keeping warm, we are all doing well.. gavin ate a few cherrios.. that was a big step.. still nothing musshy or slimy.. we are still doing the sensory stuff...i wish he would eat what we are.. we are also seeing a nutritionist to make sure he is getting what he needs... he is still growing and doesn't lookk thin, so i think that we are ok... his vanilla flavored milk is giving him the protien and fat... along with a good dose of calories..

Hi Colleen--

I meant to post a while back, but got distracted...go figure!

Great news on the cheerios! I hope that helps Gavin move in the right direction...I can't imagine how frustrating this must be for you. Will he eat soup? My kids love tomato soup and chicken noodle. I don't give it to them too often, because of the sodium....but on a really cold day, I do. We missed school Friday too because of the cold. I did manage to take the kids out in the snow yesterday, and they loved it! Of course, I couldn't snap any photos because I was too busy fixing gloves and picking up kids who couldn't get back up (because of their snow pants!)

As for the video, I didn't send one in....I'll have to checkout the website and see this kid! Maybe he has another twin!

hi there kim- hope that you are all well... we are doing ok here... trying to keep warm... this has been a really cold long snowy winter for us... i think that we have had the 2nd most snow ever.... and the cold on top of that.... i do love winter and the snow.. but i think that i'd love to be able to go out without it taking a 1/2hour to bundle everyone up.. your mention of taking the kids out in the snow reminded me that i still had the photos on my camera... so i did post a few.... Gavin did not like it too much, he is not a fan of the cold... but he did stay out for a little bit.. the pictures were actuslly funny.... as most he looked VERY unhappy... but i'll print the few that do not look that bad, and everyone will be none the wiser...

as for soup... .gavin will not eat or touch anything that is wet or slimy.. hence no soup... it's weird that they say that it stems back from his GERD.. that is why he only likes dry crunchy things...i used to be able to give him yogurt, but now hi is refusing that because he gaged and vomited it up.. not too long ago... i thought that we were done with the vomit for a little while as he had not vomited in a couple weeks, but i was wrong.. if we try and feed him any wetish or slimyish food, he usually gags and then vomits..

well... hope that everyone is well, and staying healthy.... would love to hear from everyone how all the little guys are doing...

take care
