November 2008 Stimming Buddies

Post by mally »

Hi everyone,

I am presently on a one week stimulation, and this is my second trial after the first one failed a few months back .

I thought I should start a thread for those stimulating in November 2008, that means we are almost due for Egg Transfer, and the 2WW.
it will be great if we all share our experiences and support each other.

I am a bit bloated right now, but I still fit into my clothes, I however pray that they will get enough quality eggs for fertlisation.

WISHING ALL THE NOVEMBER STIMM BUDDIES A SUCCESSFUL CYCLE. :D :D :D

Hi mally

I am just starting my 2 week wait, I had one embryo transferred on the 5th November, when are you due to have your ER? I had a donated egg from my sister so I was able to miss out on all the stimming shots, my sis was very bloated and is still. I would like to join this thread even though I am a little ahead if thats ok?
I am getting some twinges and slight discomfort as I never felt anything last time I am hoping they are a good sign!

Heres hoping you get lots of nice eggs have you had any measurements done yet?

Hey Ladies-

I am starting my stimming meds tomorrow. I, too had a failed cycle a few months back and am back on the bandwagon. I've noticed that my hormones are much crazier this time, even from just the Lupron. I think it is because I feel like I have so much more riding on this after the 1st one failed. So I am wishing for all of us to get our BFP with this cycle!!!!!!!!! It looks like I will prob have about 10 days of stimming in front of me before retrieval & then implantation.

GOOD LUCK & HANG IN THERE!!!!!!

Hi Lee and Jandc33, and all November Buddies,

The clinic is quite a distance from where I stay, I usually ha33 to fly in almost every week, so I don't get to measure my eggs.

However my stimms are for a week and I am on 4Amps of Menopur. the nurse told me that, if all goes well, the retrieval will be on the 13th of November.

The nurse got my head swollen a little :D when she said that this time around , I seem to be responding well to the treatment.

So Jandc33, since we were in the same boat, I will assure to be hopeful for a better result, but make sure you eat healthily, do yoga if you can and don't forger your prenatal vitamins.

For Lee, I wish you the best of luck, I will be away for a week, for the nest process, will keep you all informed as things progress.

Cheers

Mally

Hi Ladies, Can i join you? I am new to this message boards, i have been lurking around and thought it would be great to support each other through this.....
I am doing a FET on 11/20ish not sure exactly on the date- depends on my lining on the 14th. I am currently on 2 mgs of estrace a day- no lupron this time- and will be taking progesterone suppository i guess next week before the transfer. my last attempt with the FETin June resulted on BFN, we transferred 2 embryos one was execllent the other was good- that cycle was with lurpon & vivelle patch i didn't handle the meds too well:( So here i am again trying again- . I would like to have another baby but i am not thrilled with the process. i am giving this my best shot we have 4 frozen embies from the ivf cycle from 04 which means we have potentially another 2 tries at this :)

Babydust to all of you here!!!!!!!

I started my estrogen patch today and will start 3 days of antagon tomorrow. I should start stimming this coming week!

I am doing a version of the estrogen priming protocol. 4 times a charm? I hope so!

Hi Mally, ok i had to go and dig up my stats from 2004 but here is what i did:

2/11 started Aygestin
2/13- started lupron 20
2/25 started stim meds follistim 150, repronex 150 lupron10- for eight days
3/4 fsh shot 10,000 lupron 10
3/5 started steriod
3/6 retrival retrived 21 eggs 13 fertilized day 3 embies then all had to be freezed
***** we had to cancel the transfer b/c i was overstimulated big time*****
i had to stay on Lupron20 for 21 days after retrival to calm dowm my ovaries. then started estrace 1mg 2x day on 3/28
on 4/2 my re upped the dosing to 3 mgs of estrace and i had a reaction to the estrace so i had to be switched to the apatch .75
on 4/7 i had 2 patches put on
on 4/11 i started progesterone supp and antibiotic then on 4/12 started the steriod too. 2 embies we transfered on 4/14. we had to thaw out 6 embroys to transfer 2.
Just a note here- i noticed in my first transfer that my re used this vibrator thing after he transfered the embryos but did not do it this past june- i am wondering if the vibrator thing helped the embies stick to the uterus? He didn't do it this past time and i ended up with a bfn? wondering if that had anything to do with it not working too? i am too embarrased to ask my re but i think i should bring it up?
Also I wasn't working at the time so i was really taking it easy too, i am sure that helped

we used another 2 embies this past june for the FET we did so we have another 4 left. God willing this time the FET will work but my re changed the protocol, we are only using estrace w/o lupron. my last FET i was having a hard time with the meds so i talked it over with him to try w/o lupron since it is a male factor infertility figuring i can take less meds. I am starting to regret b/c i am worried it will not work. I am excited but very worried. I need all the support i can get to get thorugh this... sorry my story was so long but let me know if there is anything i can do to help you through this too......

Hi jandc33, hope33 and lynniecat,

So how is everyone doing on here?

Jandc33 - How are the stimming injections going?

Mally - Are you still on for an ER on the 13th?

hope33 - Have you had any more scans to see how your lining is doing?

lynniecat - Are you ready to start stimming yet?

I am half way through the 2ww its ok except every day feels like a week! Have some symptoms such as twinges, little pains and the feeling AF is going to come any minute, backache and sore boobs, which I know is all signs of the progesterone but can't help myself and keep reading into the pregnancy symptoms also!! Much further than we got last time tho as I did not feel a thing then so at least I know the drugs are working :D

Wishing you all good luck and sending pma to everyone.

Take Care

Hi Hope33, I will recommend that you ask your Clinic about any queastions that may beat your mind. Afterall you paid for it.

The Clinics in my country do not give a detail summary of the statistics, I wii alsk them and post it on the board.

Please check any future posting from me, for tips on a successful IVf.

Wishing you all the best.

Hello Everyone,

I tried to post the link for tips for successful IVf, but it failed.

This is a summary

Take enough water, as that nourishes you eggs and aids blood circulation
Eating a balance diet, and support it with multi vitamins or prenatal vitamins.

The diet should be rich in protein, as it increases the number of eggs

Acupuncture and or Yoga, relieves stress

Avoid strenuous exercises

Keep your lower back and abdomen warm partiularly leading up to egg collection and between egg collection and transfer. Do not use heat after transfer

Limit the amount of time sitting a t a desk, as this restricts blood flow.

Hope this help

Hey Guys,

I should be starting stims tonight...BUT I have a cyst on my right ovary and so I am waiting to find out what they want to do. I am on estrogen for the priming part of this protocol, so that might make it hard to tell if the cyst is active and producing estrogen or if its the patch.

So I am waiting for a call to find out!

Hi Everyone

lynniecat - Have you had that call yet?

hope33 - I am taking it very easy! I am lucky enough that most of my work is at home so I am having a lazy 2 weeks, makes the time seem extra slow tho!! Have no cramps or bachache today so my mind is thinking all sorts now! This 2ww can literally drive a person crazy, keep up the positive thinking. :D

mally - have you had your ER YET?

Thinking of you all

Take Care
