I've been having the worst headache of my life for the last 24 hours... I know it's hormone-related, but extra strength Tylenol has no effect whatsoever. I called my acupuncturist for a treatment ASAP, but I just wanted to know what works for you when you have those severe headaches. I had a short night on Monday, which might have worsened things, but even my long sleep last night didn't change much; I woke up several times because of the headache!
Thanks for your help,
Sophie

Add me to the soup. I've been having a hard time sleeping because of my increasing bulk and the most horrible heartburn in the universe and I noticed that when I don;t sleep a full night I get the worst headaches ever. My dr. told me tylenol is ok, but i've been too affraid to try it.
I didn't know that "transitionnal" headaches were common at this stage, and I'm right in it for sure. Thanks for your support sweetie.
Gina,
I'll follow your advice and get a cold damp cloth the second I'm home...
Silver,
Hi there hun! Some pregnant women really want to avoid anything chemical, even the products their doctor recommends, and it's a personal choice. I'm sorry you have heartburn... a pharmacist friend of mine had really bad heartburn all the way through her pregnancy, and she practically drank Gaviscon from the bottle (she said it's completely safe, and often pharmacists know more about meds than doctors!). If you're too uncomfortable to use that product, I hear that putting small blocks under the legs at the head of your bed can really make a difference (gravity helps keep your stomac acids down). Same for extra pillows under your head and shoulders (and some under your feet and legs to help with the cramps).
Take care,
Sophie

PMApsy, I have suffered from hormone related migraines that have lasted for a day or two!
The best thing for me is when first feel the headache coming on is to take some tylenol and a caffine soda. I know it it's bad! I tried to go without the soda or tylenol but it was unbearable!
Also, I found that an ice pack wrapped around my head with an ace wrap (tightly)! helped alot. It helps if your DH massages your head.
If you are really desperate, you can try to "pinch" the pressure point between your thumb and index finger, it hurts, but relieves the pain somewhat.
