Elida-

I totally know what you mean about having an only child. I am in the same boat. Some people carry triplets no problem, but it can be a stressful pg. I am crossing my fingers that you get twins and not triplets! Twins are much easier on the body than three little ones! I would love twins myself! However, if this round for me works and gets me one, it will be a miracle. At that point, I would have to consider donor eggs if I wanted baby 2! Guess we will see.

I am so sure this will work for you! Are you feeling any symptoms yet? The 2WW is so stressful! I bet you get 2! I can not wait to find out how many!!!!!! I am sooooo excited for you!!!

Kelly --

I searched and searched the web and found out cornell has the same EPP as the one Shady Grove is using. Though the person who was saying how it worked said estrogen started 8-10 days after the LH peak depending on cycle length. That was the piece I was missing. My nurse had me start 9 days after the LH flare (as opposed to 10) based on my usual 26 day cycle. So far, so good. I get my LH peak on day 13 so I do estrogen patch 1 on CD 22-23, patch 2 on CD 24-25 and patch 3 on CD 26-27, etc. However, once AF shows, I leave the current patch on till retrieval. So if AF shows on day CD 26-27, then I am on track.

Anyway, I think the point is that the estrogen fools the pituitary into thinking the follicles are developing already and causes FSH production to shut down. Then when you start the FSH stims, the FSH receptors are extra sensitive and respond better, or so you hope. I believe this is how this protocol goes.

It seems there are many versions of it! I think clinics experiment with different versions and then use the one that they find works best for them at their clinic. Shady Grove does lots of research. Ghost was saying they had a great research program and lots of patients, so they could figure out what works and what does not work for them very quickly. So, guess we will see. Its hard to know what will work, if anything for me.

I can only day dream that they say, wow you have 10 18 mm follies today and wow, all are fertilized and made it to top quality blasts! Ah...what a nice dream!

As for me, I did my first shot of antagon today and tomorrow I switch out my estrogen patch. I hope AF stays away long enough for me to get the right about of estrogen. So far so good. CD 23 today. My cycles tend to be 25-26 days but sometimes a day or two longer. I think I am good if she shows up on Wednesday or Thursday!

Good wonderful Monday morning ladies:

lynniecat: Thanks for being so positive for me. It is greatly appreciated. Ijust got off the phoen with my center. We have 3 frosties. 1 male and 2 females.

Also I thought they transfered expaned blasts, she said no they were already hatching which I thought from the pics I have of them but looking at all these cells confuse me. I alsked her from the time they were transfered to implanting howling. She said because they were already hatching, it would only have been a couple of hours. I am very excited to know that.

The only symptom I have is extremly sore ( )_( )'s but that could be from the PIO as I have heard that it can make them sore...

I also have to agree with you about twins vs triplets. I know in my heart that the 2 grade 1's are the ones that are going to take, and we will have our twins. even though the embriologist feels that my lining is optimal for all 3, I cannot see me carrying 3 babies.

I am so glad that everything is on track for you. I so want this to be your time as well. I know how much you want this and what a wonderful mommy you will be...

I'll be back later on, I need to get a few things done around the house, and start doing some prep work for DH 50 surprise BD party this weekend..

Renee --

I have only used frozen sperm as DH and I were also living apart. We have the option of him providing fresh this time, but do not see the point. He hates to "work" under pressure and the frozen is no problem.

I have to say I think waiting is a good idea. I did not wait after my miscarriage and had a horrible cycle ( I seriously do not even think we should count it as a failed cycle).

So waiting and frozen guys are fine! Who knows, I maybe doing donor eggs at that point! I hope not!

Good Morning ladies:

I hope this post finds everyone doing well... Just popping on to give a quick update.. First off my ( )_( )'s are killing me. extremely sore to the touch.ouch........ other then that and mild cramping I feel wonderful as I have in my long ago past pregnancies. I had no symptoms until I went into labor, whcih I gladly invite this time around as well......

I got news yesterday, I have 3 frosties 2 females and 1 male, good to know in case only one of my beans snuggle in, I know I can always to a FET in the future....

I cannot wait until my beta in 6 more dayssssssssssssss...

Renee, I think it is a good idea to give your body a break and let it get back to normal for your next cycle.. This process can be overwelming to the body and sometimes even though waiting it horribe, it is whats best for the best outcome...When you are ready for the next cycle, we will all be here to cheer you on!!!!!!!!!

Lynn, I am so excited you are starting your cycle. It will be fun sharing stories with you over the next many months :)

Hey Guys,

I went in for my lupron eval to make sure I had no cysts and guess what, I have a cyst on my right ovary. So...it gets tricky. They do not want it to be making estrogen, but since I am on the estrogen patch, I am not sure if they will know...argh.

Anyway, only had 6 antrals. But if all grow, that could be 6 grade 1 embies...never know!

So I await the call....see if I am being cancelled, or starting stims or what..

Just got my call. My estrogen was 35, which is what they expect with the priming. So the cyst is not a problem. I start stims tonight! 300 gonal f, 150 menopur and I am flying to washington DC tomorrow so I will be at my clinic for the rest of the cycle!
