Hi everyone, i dont know if i posted here or not but the three embies i had are now down to two. I was so sad today. I am so affraid tomorrow they are gonna call and tell me not to come for my ET. I have to be there at 9 in the morning. I dont want my phone to ring. I know my chances are slim with only two now and given my age even less chance. I am trying to remain hope. DH is so positive and tells me not to worry, but i cannot help it.
Catharine,
Your baby girl is just beautiful. Oh she is so sweet. I am so very happy for you.
Yasmina,'
Thanks for the encouragment. I try to remain hopeful. Not very good at it. I just dont know what to feel.
good luck to you all. I will let you know tomorrow what happens. please pray for my embies.

My friend who was 43 at the time transferred 3 embryos and got twins, and that was her first try too! Some people can get lucky and you should hope that you could be one of them. Before the pg test, consider that you are already pg! The good news though, the level of your nervousness and anxiousness does not affect pg rate. My positive thoughts are w you!
Best luck on tomorrow's transfer!
Tammy,
I am getting excited for you too. Are you going directly stimulation stage w E2 pills if the scan is ok?

A special wish to Rhonda today as she receives her embies. We're all pulling for you and as Yasmina says you are pregnant (until proven otherwise). Focus on the positive, loving thoughts, warm inspirations.
Tammy-all the best as you begin your FET tmt. How exciting.
Yasmina-how are you holding up? how's that 'lil boy you're carrying around?
Thank you all for such kind words. That is interesting comment Yasmina regarding the nurses and baby clothes. At my hospital, they pretty much left us alone, except for the occasional check, temp and weight on Aislin and blood pressure and temp on me. But all care was up to DH and I. They would stock up her little cart everyday with clean linens, diapers and wipes. All in all the hospital stay was relatively nice considering. We had DH's brother and family over last night. Three kids, 12, 6 and 19months. They were busy busy busy, getting into all our stuff. Drove me crazy and DH was no help in reining in the behavior, more like encouraging it. It basically told me I'm not ready for all that high energy. Funny thing is that all the adults then turned to DH and I and asked if we're going to have more. We answered with a smile and said time will tell. I would love Aislin to have a little brother or sister, but we will have to see how the economy evolves over the next few months. And it would be nice if I could find more work. No worries on that front at this moment as I'm enjoying hang'n with Aislin.
Wishing everyone a splendid weekend.
Cheers!
Catharine
Yasmina: I have to wait until my next AF starts. Then I begin the E2 pills on day 3 of my cycle. I should start AF on Thanksgiving day and then start the E2 pills that weekend.
Ronda: You only need one embie to transfer for a positive pregnancy. I got pregnant with Andrew naturally so that was with one egg.
Catharine: When I was in the hospital, the nurses changed Andrew's diaper. I guess I just saved my energy for nursing him. I had one nurse that I absolutely adored. She was great and really doted over Andrew. She told me that he was the cutest baby in the nursery. However, when I delivered Andrew the hospital delivered 15 babies in a two day period, so nurses were very busy. I was a first time mother so did not have the routine down. If I get pregnant and deliver again, I will consider myself a pro.
Take care all,
Tammy

Hi Everyone, I had my ET today. I came home and took a very nice longgggg nap. Of course the 10 mg valium helped with that. I had acupuncture before and after. I asked the guy if i cant relax if its still beneficial. He said yes. I wish stress wasn't a factor for me. However, i feel really relaxed right now. Both embies survived. So we had both to put back in. This morning a was so affraid that the phone would ring and it would be the RE office telling me not to come that they didn't make it. Well my phone rang and my heart starting beating so fast and i felt sick. Well it was my mother in law calling. lol. I told her she scared me to death. We both had a good laugh.
Ok so ladies tell me something. these are the descriptions of the embies. the ist one is: Cell =8 (comp) and grade =A-
second one is: cell=7 and grade =B is this good? she said now i have a 80% chance. so my question is how can i go from 10% to 80% and she said because most women our age dont make it to point of transfer. Were any of you told this? I am so encouraged by this percentage. I go Tuesday for progesterone test. and i guess if its low i start the vaginal supposotories. I am doing the shots with oil now though. Im so excited at the possibility of this miracle. good luck to all.

Rhonda: That sounds great! Wow, if they gave you an 80% chance with 2 embies on board, that is wonderful. My embryologist says that my chances are 5% with 4 frozen eggs. I'm sure that my odds will go up if all survive the thaw and fertilize.
Regards,
Tammy

Tammy, I was only given a ten percent with my own fresh eggs at the start and then gave me that big 80 percent after transfer. So i guess the low percentage is making it to fertilization. that is what the re says anyway. how old were you when the eggs were frozen? I so hope we all get our miracle.
take care.

Tammy,
wow the fact that you had eggs to freeze at almost 42 is fantastic. I wish I would have had some to freeze. I wish you the best of luck and sending good vibes your way.

yasmina or catharine or anyone that wants to reply. What does the number of cells mean when transfer takes place? How many cells does it need to reach? I realize the grades are probably different from office to office, but isn't the cell number the same across the board?

8 cells of 3 day embryos are expected to be at the perfect dividing rate. Grade A means the cells have no fragmentation. That was mainly why you were given hi % after transfer. I am a researcher and used to performing expts all the time and I also did mouse embryo transfers in my own lab. I can say from my personal experience sometimes you can just feel the expt outcome will be good! My guess is that your RE felt good about her transfer and your embryos looked all good. Well, as I said, consider you are pg now and hope the 2ww passes by fast!
Catharine,
As I said many times here, I wanted 2 children bf I had none. Now, I want more. Except that my DH is never ready to have any. He is such a loving father which confuses me to no end. When I ask him can he imagine our life wo our dd, he said, yes, you and I would have been skiing, or in Africa, or in Thailand...*******, I am glad that I did not listen to him and went ahead did what "I" wanted. After all, I am 10 yrs older and "wiser".
I support completely your plan for next one. I was truely worried about the scars that u had and am very relieved that they kept ur uterus intact, as I know adoption is not as easy as it sounds.
Tammy,
I am glad that ur clinic doesn't close for 20 days! Waiting is always killing me. I wish ur AF arrives on time and get ur embryos on bosrd bf Christmas!
Thanks all for asking about my ongoing pg. I think overall, I am fine. L failed 1st glucose test this past Friday as I did last pg. Will go back next wk for GTT and hoping it will pass like last time. I am not worried too much since my weight gain is not so scary - 12 lbs so far.
In fact it's Monday morning here already, I'd better try to get some sleep now - I am having typical third tri problem now, need to pee every 2 h and stay awake after each time.
Talk to u all soon!

Rhonda-you had an excellent report with the grades of your embies. Mine always had some degree of fragmentation and therefore always got a less than stellar grade. However, we still were able to get pg and here lies the proof next to me as I type. Remember you are pregnant now until proven otherwise.
Yasmina-I'm sorry to hear you must return for the GTT. I hope you have some good reading material to sustain you durring the time points. When I had to go back in for the GTT I was reading Sara Gruen's novel, 'Water for Elephants'. It was a real page turner and helped pass the time.
Tammy-Here's to your AF arriving on time.
I know this sounds crazy, but I kind of miss being pg. Don't get me wrong I'm so happy DD is here. Meeting her and learning all about her has been incredible thus far and I'm looking forward to a lifetime of firsts with her. Who knows maybe there is a second child in our future. The nurses at the hospital jokingly said to my husband as he left to get the car upon our exit,'See you next year '. That momentarily scarred him. Who knows, we might be back in about a year.
A few words on DD. She is quite the party girl holding court in the wee hours. She sleeps for 3-4 hours and then is awake for 1-3h with no set schedule as of yet. In the early morning hours I find myself longing for her to slip into slumberland so that I may catch a few winks myself. During the weekend DH takes the nightshift so I can get some rest, but during the week it is imperative that DH get a restfull night's sleep so he is alert for work the following day. Of course, he has no say on this, since I am not working at the moment it is easier for me to make this sacrafice than to force it on him. Regardless, we are doing amazingly well. I understand in a week or so I may feel differently.
As usual sending out the PMA along with the babydust.
All the best,
Catharine
yasmina,
thanks for explaining the cell number for me. I hope your next test is ok. I dont remember all of the glucose tests and other test, hince its been 15 years. lol. I guess i best be finding out huh?
Catharine,
I hope you will get some rest soon. I remember those days. She will settle in soon and all will be good. I am so happy for you.
Tammy good luck on those Christmas embies. hopefully everything will go according to plan.
Everyone,
Did any of you have side effects from the medrol and progesterone. medrol making me hungry and i dont know if this is the cause. but i think the progesterone is making me have to get up every two to three hours at night and go to the bathroom. Just like when you are pregnant. but its not prego symptoms because im only 3 days post transfer and it started before the transfer. Anyone have this happen?
Love you guys.
