Brown spotting!

Post by Embie30068 »

Hi,

Has anyone had any brown spotting? I know TMI but only when you when wipe. Not enough to have a liner. I am 6 weeks 2 days pregnant and had some spotting last weekend it went away for a whole week but today it decided to start up again. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced any of this. Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Hi embie~
Not only did I have spotting, but it turned into hemmorhaging for 4 weeks!! I have heard so many stories about bleeding/spotting with IVF, and most all of them turn out ok. The docs to this day don't know what caused the severe bleeding I had, but I am happy to say that I am 20 weeks pregnant with a little boy as we speak. Good luck and try not to worry too much. I know it's hard.

Thank you Lord for this blessing

Hi!
Have your doctor check you out. At 6 weeks, they should be able to get an idea of how the little guy/gal is coming along. This might help calm your nerves a little! I have been in your shoes and know how horrifying and depressing it is to see something like that! I have literally had a rainbow of different things come out of me since getting my BFP! I am holding strong at 11 weeks, but have a polyp on my cervix which is causing me some trouble.
Hang in there!
Take care!

Embie,
I'm no doctor, but I'd say there's not much cause for concern. Let's put it this way: most of my friends who've been pregnant (and have kids) had spotting at one time or another, especially in early pregnancy. I myself had pinkish/reddish bleeding at about 6.5 weeks, and even heavier bleeding at 30 weeks. I have a bouncing baby boy to show for it. Pregnancy brings little 'surprises' now and then that scare us to our very core, but are usually nothing to worry about. Have a safe and joyous pregnancy!

Hi there,

I couldn't agree more with the others. In addition to an ultrasound, which should reassure you that the bleeding isn't coming from inside your uterus, insist on having your cervix checked. It's really easy to make my cervix bleed, so I had minor bleeding or spotting on and off during my first trimester. Now that I know that, I don't worry if I have brownish or pinkish spotting from time to time. Some docs will even say that the growth of your uterus can pull on the implantation site and the stretched tissue bleeds a little. Don't be surprised if you bleed a little for a couple of days after your stop taking progesterone; it's really common and not dangerous at all.

I know the sight of blood on a panty liner scares us all, but most of the time it's nothing, believe me. *hugs* Good luck!
