Bedrest following Transfer

Post by jandc33 »

Hi Ladies-

Congrats to you all that are celebrating your pregnancies. I had a question about the level of activity or bedrest following your Transfers. I know a couple of people who literally camped on the couch for a couple of days who ended up pregnant. I know that research says their is no positive correlation between bedrest & success but I was interested in personal experiences. My ET should be Mon (Day 5) or Tues (Day 6)

Thanks for your help!!

Jandc33,

My RE told me to stay off my feet for 2 days and then it was ok. I put myself on complete bedrest for 2 days (only to get up to go to the bathroon) and then modified bedrest (up for food, bathroom, and visit to the RE for bloodtest) for the next 3 days. So a total of 5 days! I am currently 33 weeks pregnant.

Good luck!

I had a mandatory 2-3 days and I gladly did it. Perhaps there is no connection between bedrest and getting pg but I figured that if I did EVERTYTHING I could do then I couldn't feel guilty about it if it didn't work. Luckily I had a wonderful set of twins! YEAH! I do think that if it stresses you out to be in bed too long then moving may be better for you but just go with your gut instinct.

Goodluck!

Hi, In the UK we do not do bedrest, I did however take a couple of days off work but i did do things around the house and also went out for walks. I think the best thing is to just relax a bit and take it easier.
good luck

All I was told was to take it easy that day. The next few days I maintained a normal schedule other than eliminating any strenuous exercise. I did go back to work the next day but I work from home so it was not stressful. I think the others are right, whatever can get you to relax is good. Best of luck!

I did 2 days bedrest (up to get something to eat and potty) and then took it easy for a few days after that. Luckily I had mine transfered on a Thursday so had the weekend. But I ended up preggers with twins!

I was told to do two days of "couch potato time". I could make something to eat and use the bathroom, but to keep my feet up either in bed or on the couch and relax for a couple days.

Of course, I didn't get to make my own meals, because my DH and Mom took care of all of that.

Good luck!!!

Kerpupples-

Congrats!!! I remember conversing with you over the summer when we were both debating about our 2nd IVF-so pleased to see you got your BFP!!!

Thanks ladies for all your help & CONGRATS. It looks like transfer will be either Day 5 or Day 6, next Monday or Tuesday so I will prob take it easy until Turkey Day on Thursday.

I say bedrest can't hurt if at all possible. But I think the key is to RELAX as much as possible. I did acupuncture and lots of positive visualization after my transfer. My son is 3 months old now :) Good luck!
