Hey Everyone,

Sorry I haven't written sooner. I got back late on Wednesday and have been sleeping a lot. I have so much to do that I am not doing anything. Found out while I was out of town that Thanksgiving will be at my house this year. Yikes!!! So will have somewhere between 15 and 20 people over. Sigh. I am having a big party on Dec. 6th for my DH 50th birthday. I wasn't expecting two big gatherings so close. Plus I am soooo far behind on my homework. Sometimes I just want to scream!!!

I am doing o.k. Didn't throw up at all on the plane. :D I actually haven't thrown up in days. :D :D I am still nauseous. I noticed I am worse at home, because I don't eat often enough. Just tired of eating. The trip was good. It was good to see my Mom and family. The bad part was that my son got a bad ear infection that kept waking him up every 2 hours one night. We got him in to a doctor the next day and they said his ear was bulging and looked bad. Luckily the antibiotics worked pretty quick to get it down before we flew back.

Chris - man I am so sorry you don't have smooth starts to your cycle. Have you tried any type of acupuncture or herbs in the past? I only ask since Rinnie had good results. I did some herbs, but don't really know if that was the reason I got pregnant.

toobee - I am glad your doppler is giving you some relief. I might look into one just because it is so long between u/s with me. I am also very happy that you are getting regular. YEAH!!! :D :D I was actually constipated on my trip. I don't know if it was from flying or what.

val - How you doing? hugs to you.

will try to write more later.

Hey guys -

sorry I haven't been around. I have had so much stuff to do, and I am really tired so it's been hard. I'm trying to eat meat in case iron is the cause.

Too bee - I'm so jealous! My anatomy scan isn't until 20 weeks

Veronica- can you ask people to bring things on Thanksgiving? Can you ask people to pitch in w/ the dishes. You do not want to overdo it.

I have a lot of things to do for work and to catch up on. it 's a lot.

Allergies are killing me. when I really start sneezing I always wet my pants. It's just so inhuman!!!

One thing that has been nice is that since I have told people that we are pregnant w/ twins. They ask if we did IVF and then they confide their infertility story. It feels so good to help people or offer suppport, hope, and tips. I wish I had known more people when I was going through it as I was so isolated at the beginning. It feels good to be a walking banner for IVF bcause I know how alone I felt, and how I felt like the only one of my friends who couldn't have kids (or thought she couldn't)

DH finally let the word out at work.... what is WITH people saying "twin boys? good luck w/ that? you're going to have your hands full." or "You're never going to sleep again." DO people have no sense? DO they think new parents want to hear that? I know plenty of people w/ one kid who can't get them to sleep.

Besides, it's not how we feel. We feel blessed and lucky and extremely grateful. We were told by more than one doc that we wouldn't have kids at all, and here we are expecting two.

IVF has taught me gratitude... for all of it. for the food aversion, the nausea, the hemerroids, sore boobs, and all of it.

Val - Glad you are feeling a little better. Big hugs to you.

Stefanie - Being exhausted is pretty common in the first trimester. Especially with two I would think. Your body is doing a lot to make those babies!! I am still exhausted and am waiting for the surge of energy I have heard about in the second trimester. :) Thanksgiving is always potluck in our family. The hostess still has a lot to do. I found out a few families are not going to be able to make it so it looks like around 12-14 people. My sister-in-law already said she would pitch in a lot. She would have had it at her house but we have more room. We will have a few overnight guests also. Need to straighten up the house real good, buy a turkey and maybe buy some desserts. :)

Well, i had been doing really good about not throwing up and then had a really bad episode last night. It was really thick and I felt like I was going to suffocate. I have also been cramping pretty bad, but no spotting. My doc said that because I had a c-section last time that it was going to hurt when that scar gets stretched. Fun. :x

Hope everyone is doing good. It is getting cold here and is a shock to the system. Brrrr. I had to go buy some maternity long pants and discovered I have short legs!!! It is hard to find petite maternity pants. Take care everyone.

Hey Gal pals,

Well I go in next week for a full anatomy scan. My bleeding is less and less everyday and I dont feel that sick anymore. Although I do get very tired just like some of you have mentioned. Turkey Day will just be me and Hubby, our two beans and our 2 awesome puppies. No traveling for us this year and no stressful plans, I am unable to fly cause I have an auto-immune condition, especially on airplanes cause of the recycled air, so i am not taking chances while I m preggo....

Turtles I am with you, where is the energy surge??? I am envious you are having all your family over. I wish I had that, I miss mine. I live 2,000 miles from 3/4 of all who I love. :( So enjoy it and I am sure you will make a fabulous Turkey Day!!! How are you feeling otherwise? I am so digging my fetal doppler, total god send....I fee so grateful to this technology

Stephanie I think 20 weeks is the norm for a full anatomy scan, but keep in mind you also had CVS testing or ealry amnio in which I elected not to because my DR really wanted me to wait for amnio because of all my bleeding. So my scan comes at 16 weeks to help me and my DH decide if amnio testing makes sense. We did an NT scan and both babies looked great..just couldnt do the blood work as you already know. So I think all Dr's have their own protcol for differant patients. You sound good, I know what you mean about the veggies. I am just having a hard time with my appettie in general, just dont have much of one. I am aslo a very picky eater, not allot tastes good to me or sounds good to me...its a pain...I am nervous that the babies might not be gowing as well because pf that..i normally am not a picky eater and always have an appettie otherwise...i would hve thought the opposite

Valerie hey sister, hows it going??? So good to talk to you last week..looking forward to doing that agin..how you feeling??? i bet work keeping you busy as usual...miss you and alwys thinking of you

ToHaveFun Hey trooper, hows it going with you??? Any new developments, anything getting better for you??

To anyone else I missed, sorry. I hope all is well with everyone. I think of you ll often and hope things are going well for everyone. BTW, Has anyone ventured out into buying maternity clothes? I have gone three times and walked out 5 minutes later. Most of the stuff is awful so i have been wearing sweats for a few months now as well as hubbys clothes...Plus those clothes are expensive, i am defintly going to try thrift shops or good will...cant seem to shelll out that kind of cash for clothes that dont even look that good let alone are made so cheaply- I just need some things I can wear to cleint meetings and holiday parties....

TooBee - My sister was saying the same thing about maternity clothes. She didn't like any of them. She said don't even try and buy a swim suit because they are so hideous. Good luck at Good Will and the thrift shops. Do they have one of those consignment maternity stores where you live? I know we used to have one in my town, though I don't know if it is still there. Glad you are feeling better and that the bleeding has stopped.

Turtles - I feel for you trying to do Thanksgiving dinner. That would wear me out and I am not even PG. Hopefully you can get lots of help so you don't wear yourself out too much. Also good luck to you buying maternity clothes. do you still have some left from your first pregnancy?

Stefanie - I like that people are now telling you about their IVF stories. I guess once people find out what others have done it is OK to talk about it. Sorry about sneezing and the after effects. I guess that just another thing to worry about when you are PG.

Val - How are you doing? Still pretty busy with work?

Well, i have to go back for another u/s and b/w on Thursday. I don't think anything will change by then. Then I will have to go back next week. Hopefully my levels will have dropped by next week. If not I don't know if they will continue or not. AF should be showing the 1st week of December. I am not doing too good. I am trying to keep PMA but it is really hard. If you haven't been on the Oct/Nov/Dec boards, you should check it out. Out of 15 ladies we have only had 3 BFN. Like I was on this board I am really really happy for all the ladies. We all deserve a BFP. I just start feeling sorry for myself. I feel like such a party pooper lately. Sorry about venting to you gals so much. You are all supportive and have been there for me. Thanks so much.

Renee.

No reason you shouldnt feel optimistic! thats phooey to me!!! Woman get pregnant at your age all the time , naturally and assisted- SO try not to think that way if you can while you waiting for your cycle and trying the good old fashioned way- Its a shame we have all been brain washed to think its so impossible. I read stories of woman over 40 who successfully concieved all the time- Itmay be a bigger challenge, but "WHY NOT YOU???" is what i say....you can be one of those woman too

Nice to hear from you Renee. Yep, a natural would be a whole lot easier then 12K on IVF. My friend has a friend that is PG and just turned 42. Conceived on her own. So it is possible. I know who wants to hear about the people that get PG on their own. Sounds like you have the right mindset and taking a break is good. Bet you can't wait for DH to be home for X-Mas. Keep us posted.

As for me, went for u/s and b/w today. My follicle is bigger then it was last week. E2 levels are also still elevated. I will be doing lupron for one more week, if I am not supressed by next Wednesday. I will be canceled. Oh well, it is just time. I am switching insurances so next year all my meds will be covered. This way I save $2000 in med bills. I am just trying to look on the bright side of things.

Tomorrow is Friday. YEAH!!! Hope everyone else is doing good.

Hello girls!!

I have been very busy with work and doing a lot of running around this week, plus a board meeting at night, and two other meetings.

Renee~ I agree with what the others are saying and there is a good possibility that you will get pregnant on your own. It happens when you least expect it. So don't think about anything and enjoy some loving as much as possible and we just might get a pregnancy announcement from you at the beginning of the year. I wish you the best on losing weight. Looks like you are well on your way already.

Chris~ I wrote to you already on the other board. But I want to tell you that you are amazing. While you are struggling with your cycle, you are always there to encourage the others and cheer them on when they get a BFP. Please try and think, feel positive for yourself. Every negative thought that enters your mind will bring you what you were thinking. I've noticed it too much for myself and it does happen like that. If you expect good things, you will get good things. I know you've been struggling with your PMA during this cycle. When you feel those negative thoughts creep in your head, just think the opposite, feel the opposite. It is important to be mentally ready to start your cycle as I believe it will impact the outcome. I'm thinking about you and sending you big hugs filled with PMA.

Toobee~ Hi sister! Sounds like you're feeling good. So happy that the bleeding is less and less every day! I bet you can't wait fr your test and to have the good results in your hands. I know it will all be fine and that both babies will ass the test with flying colors. Sorry but I can't help you with the purchase of maternity clothes. Did you try Motherhood? It looks decent on their website. Do you have a store near you? It's always nice to try things on and know for sure that they will fit.

Turtles~ I'm so glad you're getting lots of help for Thanksgiving. You shouldn't be doing that much work. If you feel tired, enlist the help of someone else!
Hope you won't get too many cramps from your scar stretching. If it's not one thing hurting, it's another. Wishing you the best.

Stefanie~ I agree that people say the darnest things. Why would they tell you those things about your twin boys and the fact that it's a handful. Nothing encouraging about that. I think you will be fine. If you are calm, the babies will be calm as well as they feel our moods very much. It so nice that you are having such wonderful reactions to your pregnancy and it's amazing how people will start talking about IVF if they know you were going through the same thing. A few more weeks and you will have your anatomy scan and know that the babies are just fine.

As for me, I'm doing well. Work is keeping me super busy. I'll have to work Saturday as well in order to finish what I have to do. Can't complain about that. The weather here is just glorious and I'm enjoying every minute of it. I'm having family stay with us during Thanksgiving and we will have lots of fun.
I better quit talking and send this.

Much love and big hugs to all!

Chris~ You make me laugh! That is one cute smiley. I'm sorry it's so cold where you are. I never liked the cold either when I lived in Belgium, I was cold for more than six months out of the year...no fun.
Hope you have good PMA today! Remember to think positive thoughts. Visualize your big follie getting smaller and smaller by the hour.

Thanks so much Val. I will visualize for the next 5 days and make my follie get smaller and smaller. Also have to visualize my E2 levels dropping enough for me to start. If that doesn't work I have a list of things that I am going to do.
1- Get a second opinion, and switch RE's.
2 - Start doing Acupuncture.
3 - Lose at least 30 pounds.
4 - Relax, enjoy the holidays.

Sounds good to me.

Val - Enjoy life and the holidays and don't work too hard.

TooBee - Glad to see that your bleeding is lighter. Now all we have to do is figure out some way so you will stop worrying all the time and enjoy being PG. I know easier said then don.

Turtles - Hope you are getting your homework done. I am taking a class right now and it is pretty much a joke. Can't believe I actually get credit for it. All my classes are online and I think sometimes they make it way too easy. Though I hate school so I won't complain.

Hey Gals....
I have a question about coffee.......What are your thoughs on coffee when pregnant...I hear mixed reviews and havnt had a drop in almost 6 months...keep in mind I was a BIG coffe drinker...I have been really REALLY craving it.......but I hear mixed things on whether I can or not...I just wonder if thats only in the first tri???? I just really want your thoughts, i am gonna make another post somewhere too-

To Have Fun
The thermometer cracked me up this morning!! Its freeing here too, well for Texas weather anyway! Listen to Val about the visualiation, I swear by that stuff........I did it with my follies and embryos and who knows if it works but theres no proof it doesnt, but I am a believer visualization can change your entire mindset that sens signals to your body. As far as me beng scared whle pregnant.....well just called me Paranoid!!! Im not really scared , just paranoid by all that can go wrong------It never ends for us gals does it????? But I do visualize stil so I am hope that works for me again too!!! But I wont lie, I am a freak about m/c still..but I can cope because of my doppler. I wish they had online scholls when I went to College..sounds allot easier based on your words and others I have heard..college sucked for me, cause I hated school anyway....But I am glad I went...I just remember tons of homework and I commuted so it was tough- plus worked 2-3 jobs...I m so glad thats behind me!

Val
Work WOrk Work!!!! sounds like your enjoying it!!! I m getting back into my groove again too. You sound really good andyour getting your PMA back and gettting strong again...very nice , very nice. After Holidays we need to chat and catch up more :) Will you make turkey for the big Day??? I am no sure what we wil have, I am kinda craving HAM...havent had HAM in a long time....m husband thinks I m wiered

Turtles
I dont envy going to school...but I think its great your doing it! I am sure you have said this many times but what are you studying? It must be challenging juggling school with family and one on the way...You go girl!!!
