The only time there is no hope is if the embryologist calls and said they tripped and spilled the petri dish!
Of course there is hope!
I don't know if you were on the board when I was going through this very issue, but I had only three embryos make it to transfer, and all of them were U-G-L-Y!! They all had fragmentation, the best one only had about four divided cells, and the remaining fourth embryo (which was not implanted due to poor quality) died the next day.
Guess who still got a BFP?
My beta numbers were lower and slower to start rising, but Jr. has more than made up for it in the long haul.
Really, it just takes a few stem cells to start actively divinding to make a baby.
So, not to sound cliche' - It ain't over till it's over! You have come this far, so why not just see it through? You may be suprized!
