I just had a failed IVF cycle. I heard alot about DHEA, but when I went to the vitamin store today, I seen alot of warnings on the bottle and one was not to take if you have a family history of breast cancer. My mother and several other females in my family have had breast cancer so I was very wary of taking this and ended up getting some others that the sales person had printed off info. on with benefits for fertility. I got Vitex, PABA (i think that's what it's called) and Arginine. Has anyone heard about or tried any of these. I am going to try to take them for a few months and see if I get any results from these before we do another round of IVF. We're not going to be able to afford IVF for another 6 months to a year anyway. What do you guys think about these supplements?
TTC for over 4 years
HSG - tubes okay
DH semen analysis - good
Multiple clomid rounds and IUI - no sucess
On meds for first IVF attempt
HI, I would seriously not ake anything until you speak with a doctor, herbalist or an AP. Please don't risk ruining anyhting.
PERSONALLY, I would seek Accupuncture at least once every two weeks AND a 2-3 cycles of Chinese herbs (liquid form-strongest). See an AP that SPECILAIZEs in Infertility and is progressive but also no too progressive.
I had 3 failed IVF's before doing AP, and while it has not worked for everyone - I SWEAR BY IT!!!!
Best of luck,
Jennifer

Go to the Center for Human Reproduction ivf center website. You will find tons on it. Some REs love it, in the middle, don't know, hate it. They are all over the place with it. How old are you? And do you have PCOS? If you are young you don't need it. If you have PCOS it is contraindicated. HTH
