CT~ dont' worry about crashing our thread. It's nice to hear that you've finished your journey with a healthy baby girl. Congrats!

Babyloves~ How is work going with your "babybrain". My students laugh at me when I struggle to find my words because they've watched me from the beginning when I was so organized and now I'm a total scatterbrain. Good luck on your scan next Thursday!!!! Let us know how you make out.

Sonu~ How is your sister feeling? It is such a bittersweet time for her I'm sure. Knowing she can get pregnant, but losing this one. IVF is so hard on so many different levels. I pray she is staying strong and positive for her next attempt, and I am hoping she follows in her sisters footsteps like you had mentioned. Wouldn't that be something!

Lit~ How are you doing? You must be feeling like there is an acrobatic show in your belly at this point in time. Hope you are doing well

esperanza~ hoping all is well with you and your little girl :) Are you feeling movement yet?

Amazu~ Update PLEASE..... getting worried about you again. I'm sure this post is not on your priority list at this point in time, but know we are thinking of you and praying for you, as we are all in this journey together, and have bonded with our March 2009 buddies! Be well.

As for me, I had my 20 week U/S wednesday, and it was kind of a funny day. DH and I had an argument that morning and did not speak the whole car ride there. In the waiting room, you could cut the tension with a knife, so he sat on one end reading and I sat on the other watching t.v. When the nurse called us she was cracking up that we came from different sides of the waiting room. She figured out we were not happy with eachother, and started the scan. She asked if we knew the sex, and said not to tell her. The first shot was of the groin, and his little noodle was pointing due north! She was laughing and printed a pic of it titled "boy oh boy". Then each time she would move the probe around to get the different organs, he would show his noodle again. She said this was becoming an R rated sono, and that this little boy was an exhibitionist. At this point the ice was started to break and DH and I were ok.
Unfortunately though, it appears that my placenta is low lying which normally would not be a problem for me b/c I am not going to be able to deliver vaginally due to my 2 previous c-sections. The problem in my situation is that when you have had previous c-sections, the low lying placenta tends to adhere to the scar tissue on the uterus, and this can create some serious problems after delivery due to hemmorhaging. They want me to return in 8 weeks to see if the placenta has moved. It is called Placenta Accreta. I am trying not to think about it, as from what I've read it really has no affect on the baby, as it is only a problem after delivery.Have a great weekend ladies!!!!

already blessed - :) Feels great to hear that everything is perfect!!! The narration of the noodle story was very interesting and hilarious.
I was also told that my placenta is low lying and the baby is in breech position which is common for the ladies who have low lying placenta. I just googled about placenta accreta, and from whatever I have read, there is nothing to worry about.
My best wishes to you for your scan 8weeks later!!!

Babyloves - How was your scan? Waiting to hear your story too.

Annie - Pl, update us about your well being.

Esperanza - We are missing you here. How is everything?

Lit - You are also being missed!!! Hope 1+3 are doing great :)

CT Michele - I saw the pics of your daughter and I must say you have the most beautiful girl in your arms. And you are most welcome here...always.
Just a little question for you, did you have c-section, if yes, what was the recovery time? I am planning to go for c-section. Thanks for any inputs.

Hugs...

sonu- Are you being given a choice? My drs would not have given me a choice, but I did have a c-section because Ella was in the breech position. At first I was really scared and didn't want it, but now, since I will have my choice next time, I think I will do it again. Believe it or not, the worst parts for me were inserting the catheter and getting the spinal. They could almost not get the spinal in the right spot which would have meant I would have had to gone to sleep, thankfully they got it on the last try.

I think recovery for me went very well. The first day I was on a morphine drip, so I didn;t feel much. The nurses got me out of bed that first night and I was able to walk to the sink and brush my teeth/washmy face. The next day I showered and everything was soar, but not unbearable. After the morphine was taken away, sleeping in the hospital was tough, but I think it was their beds, my bed was much easier when I got home.

I guess it's hard to gauge recovery by my experience. Hospital staff was shocked I was up and around so quickly and I was off pain meds fairly quickly. I guess I have a high threshold. My only problem was keeping the incision dry, I developed a small yeast infection, so I had to clean the incision twice a day for a week with peroxide.I actually had sex after 3 weeks even though I was supposed to wait until 6.

I will say one thing about the c-section though. I thought at first, that I would be missing out on the "real" experience. I mean, I never even felt a contraction, I don;t know what it's like to push. I thought not having those things would take away from the whole experience, but it definitely did not. The first time I heard hear cry was just as emotional and overwhelming as it would have been the other way. So ladies, don;t feel bad if it comes down to csec, it was wonderful for me.

Thanks a lot for taking time off from your busy schedule with Ella. :)
All the inputs are definitely very helpful, l hope I am half as strong as you are.

I am opting for C-section as I think I am mentally not ready for the vaginal delivery. Its just psychological.

My baby is in breech position right now, and I know many babies turn by the end of the term, lets see what mine decides to do.

Hugs...:)

Hello to all of you wonderful ladies. I'm posting again to say hello to my girl Esperanza. Girly I see that you are moving right along. Keep up the good work. That baby girl will be here before you know it. What is your due date?

To all you other ladies...hats off to you. I have been crashing this board every now and than to check on Esperanza but I do miss chatting. I had my IVF bundle of joy on the 19th of September and I am enjoying her so much. Take a look when you get a chance http://michaelaskye.shutterfly.com.

These babies are true miracles. I am here to let all of you know that you have done a wonderful thing and to let you know that the journey that we have taken to achieve happiness and the blessing of a new baby is so awesome. I promised god that if he made my dreams of having another baby come true that I would love and cherish her so much and I'm totally keeping my promise.

There will be sleepless nights and sometimes sleepless days but when look into the little innocent eyes of that little baby all that takes a seat back.

Good luck to all of you'll and if you ever have questions, just ask.

Hello friends,

CT-Michelle and WashingtonDA--it's so good to know you're still out there following my progress...your presence makes me happy and warms my heart. I saw your beauties pictures. Ella and Michaela are simply adorable :D Oh My God, it was certainly worth the wait and struggles. Thank you for sharing your treasures with us.

My due date is 4/8th.

WashingtonDA--I've been trying to follow your advice on cloth. Thank you!

MICHELLE--you're a strong woman. I was blown away to read that you had the energy and desire to make love after 3 weeks after birth     Girl!!!! I must confese that my sex drive has gone down with the pregnancy, and dh is scared of hurting the baby, so not much action in our bedroom lately :( It's obvious that the pregnancy is bringing us closer together, but not when it comes to sex.

SONU--is that your little bean? oh my goodness, how cute :) so you're having a C-section. Do you have a date yet? or will you determine that as time approaches?

ALREADYBLESSED--I can relate to your story with DH. That's kind of the way we are as well. We don't really have many arguments, but when we do, we can't be mad at each other for long. We usually end up looking at each other, laughing and then having a conversation about what's bothering us. Your R rated ultrasound cracked me up!!! ;) your baby's noodle showing over and over again...too funny, I guess he wants you to know that it's a boy for sure, after two girls he wants to make himself known!

I hope the placenta issue gets resolved by the time your next scan comes around. If not, the good news is that your doctors are aware of it now, I'm sure they will take all the necessary precautions during the delivery. Yay, you're having a boy!!!

BABYLOVES--good to hear from you again. Best wishes with your new job ;) I read in another thread of a lady who just got fired. I thought it was outrageous to fire a pregnant woman...crazy world! what do you do? Best wishes in your ultrasound....enjoy it! it's so much fun :) I go for another scan next week. DH and I can't wait to see our little one again.

ANNIE--how are you my dear? please let us know whenever you have a chance. I think of you often and I continue to pray for you and your little one.

LITERATRIZ--how are you doing my philosophical friend?

On my part, doing well...starting to feel my girl a little bit more and more. Sometimes I wish I could feel her more, just for reasurance. I'm so glad we are having a scan next week. Right now, I'm working on final papers...agggghhhh... BUT, I'm so looking forward to thanksgiving. It's my favorite US holiday and we are spending it with friends. Hugs to all.

Hi ladies!!!
Sonu~ I read your post about the c-section. I had two with both my pregnancies. I initially felt the same way you do about the vaginal birth, but I didn't have a choice at the time of delivery. With the first, her heart rate kept dipping, so it was a quick go, but the recovery was brutal, and I'm pretty good with pain. With the second, I so badly wanted a v-bac so I would not go through what I had the previous time, but I wound up with another c section but I was now with a different doctor, practice and hospital, and it was like night and day. I had a morphine pump, and barely had to use it, I was up and going shortly after the surgery, and the recovery was short. So, I truly believe that it depends on your doctor and hospital. Check to find out what kind of pain management system you hospital has. My first hospital was a catholic hospital and the most I got for pain was a percocet which did nothing for me. Motrin was better. The second hospital offered everything, and although I never needed it, it was there for the taking. I see your beautiful baby on the sonogram!!!! How amazing!!! You must be very good with the computer. It took me forever to figure out how to get the darn ticker up here, so I'm not even going to ask how you did the sono. I will just enjoy watching yours! :D

Esperanza~Hello! Good to have you back! Where did you go camping? Sounds like fun! I know what you mean when you talk about wishing there was more movement. With my previous pregnancies, I felt much more by this point, but I am heavier this time around, and apparently that low lying placenta is also anterior (on the front) of my uterus so I won't be feeling the kicking as much. One thing is for sure, when they get to the point where they are big enough, I promise you that it is going to feel like they are doing a gym routine in there. I can remember waking up in bed b/c DD was kicking the crap out of me while I was sleeping. It is such a great experience though. Have you and DH thought of any names for your little girl?? We are going back and forth with the boys names. For some reason we found it much easier to pick out my girls names. This one is a little tougher. And about the sex    What's that??? My husband is treating me like I am made out of glass these days. It is so funny.I give your friend alot of credit. If DH had come near me 3 wks after delivery, I would have hit him with the frying pan! :x

Lit~ Hope you are doing well and those 3 little ones are treating you kindly.

Annie~ Thinking and praying for you. It's painful not knowing if you are ok. Please post when you get a chance. We miss u and are concerned.

Babyloves~ how are you doing balancing the pregnancy with the new job. Hope you are feeling well too.

On a final note ladies, I would just like to send out a prayer to all the March 2009 ladies. I hopped on the April 2009 thread just to read as I sometimes do, and 2 of their ladies miscarried that week. It was so sad for me to read, and I know they must be devestated. Each day of this journey is another blessing from God, and I am just thankful tht we are all still able to enjoy it and are feeling well. Have a wonderful and THANKFUL Thanksgiving. We all have alot to be thankful for! Enjoy

ALREADYBLESSED-- I had to respond...oh my God, I can't stop laughing, hahahhahaa, your note on sex made me laugh so much      maybe I'm laughing this hard because I can relate to it!!! I can't stop...Oh God!

On a serious note, you're right, we have to count our blessings, I've read a couple of sad notes on this board of advance lost pregnancies...it's beyond sad, and scary to me :( Yes, let's be thankful and pray the Lord.

is there sex life after birth?

Post by Literatriz »

Hi dear friends,
I was super busy and a bit tired these couple of days - how comforting it was to read you really kept me in your thoughts...
First, the news: we are having three GIRLS! Dad is very happy, so much that he gave up and promised me he will buy pink balloons when they arrive. In my country we put small handicrafted things at the door in the hospital. Do they do this here, too? No problems with the anatomic scan and my cervix is as sealed as a Netflix movie envelope. Let's keep it shut, ladies.
Speaking of cervis and closing for maintenance...I laughed so much with the personal accounts of fights, x-rated u/s and crystal bellies. Already blessed mentioned something about waxing the recreation area, which I highly recommend but...for now...not much action going on. DH also things he is going to hurt the babies and he has no idea of how to make love like in the movies, softly and in slow motion. So, we are still talking about it. Intimacy for us now is sharing the body pillow in the middle of our queen bed (yes, we should have purchased a King size!). What are your doctors talking about self-pleasure and reciprocal caressing?
CT_Michelle, it seems that you have healed pretty fast after the C-sec...3 weeks?
Esperanza, congrats on you baby girl and on your courageous camping adventure.
It was so nice to know that, disagreemens aside, the anatomical U/s came out with no other news but the gender for Alreadyblessed. What about you, Babyloves? You've said Thursday...is this Thanksgiving? I will be thinking of you, also because of your new job. Hope you are juggling everything OK.
Sonu, how many more weeks for you, dear? Are you driking lost of water as you promised? How is the tempereature now in India? Have you heard of a massage for babies called Shantala? I've used it before, because I have a book translated into Portuguese...It is really soothing for fussy and colicky babies.
Thank you all for the C-sec testimonials. Morphine, Percosset? Can you breastfeed when you are on drugs? I'd love to start breastfeeding right away...Hope the low-lining placentas move softly and open space for a nice incision, just enought to let Life get out!
In this time of economic uncertainty, we feel a lot less self-sufficient. A co-worker offered me some girls clothes and I said yes with an open heart. As I pray sometimes...there are may prayers but only one response...when God lets us know we are not alone with our struggle.
Thanksgiving is a holiday invented by an American president right between the horrible depression and the Word War II. It worked because it unites people from different backgrounds.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Dear already blessed

I just read your other post on over pouring hormones. Oh I so agree with you. I am sensitive but these days my sensitivity towards everything had just doubled. You must have read about terror attacks in one of the Indian cities. Though none whom I know have suffered, still I haven't been able to sleep the whole night and today also I have been glued to news channels all through. I have already shed some tears and had my bout with headache. Then I had to take a cup of coffee (which I might have taken after approx 9 months, since I last got preg) and now I am feeling immensely guilty for having it!!! :?

Talking about sex...that's literally became a distant dream for us. My DH is too scared to touch any other part of my body except my belly. :) He holds my belly while sleeping at night. For me its a different case, I do feel longing for sex at times, I know its because of our raising hormones but then have to contain myself!!! :)

Thanks for sharing your first hand experience regarding c-section. I am still very much in favour of c-section though if situation comes I might go in for normal delivery. I am in dilemma. Haven't discussed this with my doc yet!!!

Take good care of urself and the little one!!! and I love reading your lovely posts so keep posting. :)

Thanksgiving is a holiday invented by an American president right between the horrible depression and the Word War II. It worked because it unites people from different backgrounds.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
Congratulations on having 3 GIRLS....WOW!!! You are going to have one army of girl power at home. We are three sisters, of course not triplets but we share great rapport with each other and we are the best of friends. :)

Yes, still some time is left for me. But since with in a week's time I will be entering my final semester, the birthing factor is dominant on my mind and continuously I am asking myself which way to go!! The temperature here is quite pleasant but dry and I am trying to fulfill my promise of keep myself hydrated all the times.

No I haven't heard about Shantala. My baby likes music and gets active on hearing my knd of music which is mostly soft rock or country music. It soothes my mind as well.

Hugs and do keep writing in!!

I had a scan on Wednesday and baby has settled for a comfortable vertex position. Everything else also is normal. We had a small scan which means done on a small machine. I am scheduled to have a big scan after 15 days when I will enter my final trimester.

Not a day goes when I don't thank God for this lovely blessing that HE has showered upon us. With this I ask God to be kind with the ladies who have to go through the pains of IVF like BFN, BFP turning BFN and other complications. My prayers are with Angel, Carolyn, amysbabies, my sis and all the other ladies who have to go through the hardships of this journey. I pray to God to grant them strength and perseverance to stay strong and positive in this journey towards motherhood. I also thank God for the blessings HE had given to AMAZU (annie) and I pray that everything is well with her and her baby. Lastly, I thank God for bringing us together here in this journey, so that we can share our joys, sorrows and our experiences.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL.
