Hi all,

Well I'm feeling a bit better than the last time I mailed. I've slept a bit better, which has made a huge amount of difference. I think I've got to grips with my IBS a bit - if I eat no sugar or saturated fat, then I don't get so bad a reaction and my rib pain is tolerable. So I'm mostly just eating plain grains, skimmed milk, meat, veg and potato. Even fruit aggravates it. So it's a bit limiting, but it seems to be doing the trick. I can now lie on my right hand side for upto about half an hour, which is better than before! My back pain has eased, but my groin pain is still bad and I keep tweaking it again every few days, so it's preventing me getting active. The house is still a disaster zone and my nesting instinct has kicked in, with no possible outlet, so still stressed. About to confront the builders about the mess they made of our roof, which is not safe. Sigh.

Nikki - it seems like you've been through the mill lately. How scary. I hope that the procardia's doing its job and you don't have to take it too often, as is sounds pretty nasty itself. At least your cervix is OK and baby seems to be doing well. I can't believe its so big. I have no idea how big mine is. They measured my uterus when I was last in, and it seemed 'average' size. How do you know what position it's in? Is it from feeling it or do you need a scan? My kicks are mostly on left and right which makes me think it's lying sideways. And yes, I've taken some preggo photos to show my big boobies and big belly (!), but they're just with DH with our own camera!

Chelly - Congrats on 28 weeks - I am too now (I guess you're now 29 weeks.) Each week that goes past makes me realise how close we're getting. Yay - your nursery is done! That's so exciting. We have chosen our nursery now - Mamas and Papas do a range of accessories called 'gingerbread' which we're getting. I can't be bothered to paint a mural now! We'll paint the room fresh white and have the lovely coloured accessories and freeze. The colours are very clean and fresh - red and green and turquoise and orange and white (sounds like Joseph's technicolour coat!) Sounds wacky, but it's very subtle and sweet and they all go really well the way they've done it. I'm planning to breastfeed.

Sameera - 30 weeks! You've done 3/4 time now! Well done. Sorry to hear about the rib pain and lack of sleep. Needlesstosay I can totally relate to that and the lack of sleep is truly horrid. I hope it goes away.

Denise - thanks for the sympathy! You can't beat a good whinge!

I am finally getting BH contractions. I think I may have been getting them before, but not noticed or realised what they are, but I noticed them on Thursday and then ever since! About 2 per hour. Is that about normal? Baby is v active. Sometimes kicks for over an hour at a time.

Anyway, hope you're all doing well this week.

tinnots- I think my baby is laying sideways too, as I also feel kicks on the rt/left sides at the same time. I think her feet are to the rt, and her hands on the left b/c the kicks/rolls on the rt are much harder. She also likes to push her butt out so my tummy goes from round to pointy. I love feeling her movements, I wish I had a camera in there to watch her!
Yes, the nursery is painted, furniture is assembled. We just need a crib mattress and to get the accessories. I am starting to go crazy with getting the rest of the house cleaned...it seems like its never cleaned enough!
I can only imagine how you feel with your house all ripped apart. I think the colors are going to look nice!

denise- My friend just delivered her baby last Thursday, she's her 2nd but she said this one just won't wake up to latch on! I'm looking forward to the class to learn more.

God Bless!

Last night I felt a little foot pushed out. She spent a good forty minutes dancing around, then was quiet for a few, so I rubbed my belly. So cool, I felt a clearly defined foot, separate from where her little behind was poking out.

And we have a name, she's going to be Ivey Colleen.

Hubby painted the nursery, now to finish some electrical stuff, then some decorating! Very exciting. The crib, dressers, change table and rocker are all in there, so its starting to seem real! Less than twelve weeks to go!

Denise - I think I can sometimes feel a foot too! It's the coolest thing. It's kinda surreal, thinking there's a person in there, but makes me smile every time. Fortunately it's not kicking anything that hurts yet. I spend all my time with my hand on my belly - sitting in meetings, on the train. It's addictive! Ivey Colleen is a lovely name.

I spent yesterday going through a load of clothes and bits and bobs that my aunt gave me from her kids. Some things are so sweet - you can't really imagine that anyone could fit into such a tiny glove!

Midwife came yesterday and said that the baby is currently head down. Baby's slightly on the small side (about 10th percentile), but she wasn't too worried, especially as I'm so small. She'll keep an eye on it.

Antenatal classes start tomorrow. House still in a tip. :( Can't wait till they leave now.

Have a good week everyone.

Hi Moms,

I just wanted you to know that I am lurking your thread still but it has been a while that no one here seems to be posting. I trust that you are all doing alright?

I know I don't officially belong here as my due day is Feb 2, however, there is such a hi chance that our son will come early. BTW, did I tell you already that we are expecting a son? He is moving actively. Other than heartburn, I have not had much of anything else complicated. Next week, we will have glucose test.

While I don't contribute posting much here I do care everyone's progress. So to the lovely ladies here, could you please update? Nikki, how are you holding up? Chelly, how is your DD in the womb? TinNot, I always enjoy reading your funny post! Sameera, I know you are not far from me, I am in TN, but how is everything with you?

Everyone else, wish you all have a nice weekend.

Hey Girls - sorry I have been MIA. Just not much going on besides getting huge and feeling like a big SHAMU!!! lol

Children - Congrats on a boy and hope your pregnancy goes smoothly :)

Tin - wow your baby is already head down that's good. As far as him/her being on the small size it's no big deal as long as he/she is healthy - they will gain weight.

Denise - isn't cool to watch your belly move and feel either butt or foot pushing against your belly. I have that twice lol from both sides - I enjoy it very much.

Chelly - How is the nursery coming along? were you able to take BF class??

AFM - I am 32weeks 5days!! wohoo - my doc is very happy although I don't think I would have made it this long if I wasn't on bed rest.

I go to the OB every week now and get my cervix checked each time. They have also started NST test on me to measure the babies heart rate, kicks, movements / contractions.

I just hope the babies are bigger when they come out - being petite I always worry having tiny babies but there is not much I can do besides eating and hoping they are healthy.

OMG I cannot tell you guys how uncomfortable I have been and it's getting worse especially my RIBS. They hurt it almost feels like my ribs are separating.

On top of it I have to go restroom like 15 times every night it sucks!!! I cannot sleep and ever since I took the flu shot - I have not felt good. Been all congested and sick eeek...

sorry for my ranting lol - Just thought I would update all my friends what I feel :)

You girls take care and keep me posted. I just cannot believe how close we are to seeing our babies.

Eight weeks to go and counting! We're doing some major renos here, so the place is a disaster. At least its been contained to the lower level of the house, the girls and I have been living out of upstairs, and take out food. ugh. Craving veggies like you would not believe. Shouldn't be too much longer though. How are you hanging in there? The rib pain let up at all? I remember that, and the hip pain being absolutely brutal. There's a couple here in Canada fighting to have maternity benefits match the number of kids you have. They are expecting twins, and have both applied for parental leave ~ should be interesting to see how this works out.

When are you gonna get done with your renos? It does suck for the girls - they prolly want everything to be done and over it so they can have their rooms etc..

Rib pain is better one side - boy is still up in my ribs and ugh some days it's better and some days it's worse. I am still hanging in there - I end up going to L&D on Thursday cause I started having lower back pain, cramps and contractions every 7 mins. They monitored me for few hours and said the contractions are there but they aren't changing my cervix so I can go home and come back when my water breaks.!!!

I am 2 cm dilated etc and I don't understand how these contractions are not changing a darn thing cause they hurt and there is nothing I can do about it :( I have to wait till I actually go in labor or my water breaks.

That is interesting that the couple are fighting for it - well I'd like to know what happens!!

You take care of yourself and I hope chelly, children, niclaw they all are doing well.

When did you deliver with your twins??

Hi everyone

Sorry for going MIA, but things have been busy and also it's a bit disspriting when nobody else seems to be posting, so I thought I'd give it a break a couple of weeks to see if anyone returns to the fold!

Sameera - I can't believe you're having contractions and dilating - wow! You're nearly there! You must be about 35 weeks now, which is great - the twins should be able to breathe by themselves. Glad rib pain is easing off at least on one side. There should be more space up there once one engages. All the best for the delivery, we'll be thinking of you. I don't know if my baby is still head down - it feels like it moves an awful lot. I'll see the midwife tomorrow for a check, so I'll get an update.

Denise - I sympathise with your renos upheaval - we're just coming to the end of ours and are back in our kitchen. T's top tip: Veg do very well in the microwave, if you have one. Just put them in a dish with a small amount of water and a lid and they'll cook fine. In fact, we used to do entire microwave one-dish food ie. a piece of fish, veg in one dish and ready in 5 mins, plus microwave in the bag rice. Supermarkets also do bags of mixed pre-prepared veg which you can cook in the microwave, which are extravagant, but great if you have no kitchen.

As for me, baby is growing so much at the moment. It's right up to the ribs now, so as well as my 'normal' rib pain, I am now getting little jabs too. But so far it isn't too bad. When baby is in a particular position, I feel quite faint and sick - I think it squashes the placenta and cord. I've been to antenatal classes, which have been good - I've met some local girls giving birth soon, which should be nice and social afterwards. I've learned all about labour and giving birth and breastfeeding, so hopefully I won't be so freaked out when the time comes.

I'm so tired now. I'm giving up work on 11th Dec - hooray!!! Sooooo excited!!! My last day in London is 4th Dec, so no more horrid trains and travelling! Hooraaaaaayyy!!!! We're starting to decorate the nursery now. DH has painted the ceiling and should do the walls tomorrow. We're still waiting for our roof and water problems to be sorted. It snowed here at the weekend, so I hope they are sorted soon!

Well I hope all you non-posters are OK. Come back to us!

Bye for now

Hey guys.

Still hanging in here. Hope this finds you all well.

Winter is hitting with a vengence here now. I'm hoping that come delivery time there isn't a big blizzard as my hospital is about forty minutes away on a nice day.

Sleep comes when it will these days, and I'm enjoying the wee hours way more than I'd prefer.

Everyone have their birthplans ready?

Sameera, what you are feeling is very normal for carrying twins. You're doing fantastic to hold on to this point! And there is a light at the end of the tunnel, with two babies to hold ~ how fantastic is that!

Don't be afraid to vent, especially to any of the twin mums, they will understand. Your body is running a marathon right now. So drink some more water, put your feet up, and try the best you can to relax. The rib pain was the worst for me too, along with the hip pain. Hang in there.
