Well I think things have taken a turn for the worse, but it's tough to say at this point. The bleeding continues to get worse, and it's now accompanied by some light cramping as well. She went in for another BETA this morning, so we'll see what happens. It was a 40 yesterday, so I actually don't think we'll know for sure until Friday to see if it continues to double. But if it is lower than a 40 today, we'll know it's bad news. Could the cramps mean anything else other than the beginning of her period? I'm trying to hang on to as much hope as possible.

cramping is normal at this stage. it doesn't spell doom at all. try to stay positive, bleeding in early pregnancy is also very common, especially for IVFers because we've been manipulated so much.

Hi Eddie,

I have being following your story for a while, please both of you need to be hopeful, there are many instances in this forum, where Pregnancy has been attained after bleeding.

She needs to rest, if she tranfered more than 1, let her keep her feet up for a while, most importantly call the clinic, they can be helpful.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!

As an update, the bleeding has turned into a brown spotting. Let's see what the number says...

Amanda, I assume you mean are NOW pregnant with twins, right? Hopefully that's the case with us too. Although I have heard that it's possible that the bleeding/cramping could be a result of us having "lost" one of them. I guess only time will tell.

I just wanted to say I was thinking of you & your wife. I think the previous posters seem right in maybe it's implantation bleeding. Hopefully you will have your answers for sure soon. Best wishes!

Still waiting on the number, but she just took another home pregnancy test and it is still coming back positive, which means the number didn't drop below 25, which I believe is the limit. I'm cautiously optimistic, at this point.

Hi Eddie, I'm just here for support.

As others have said, yes, cramping is pretty normal in early pregnancy (and even later because the uterus stretches)...the spotting could be implantation bleeding. The numbers will tell. Keep hope alive!

Hugs to you and your partner.

She just got the results. Her hcg was 45 and her progesterone was only 4. They said that may be causing the bleeding. They want to see levels over 10 so it may not be a viable pregnancy. She has to go again on Friday to see what the numbers do.

Well the number is 45. They said that's not bad, but not great considering it was 40 yesterday. The worse part is they said her progesterone is around 4, and it should be around 10 right now. I think we're looking at a miscarriage, unfortunately. She will have another test on Friday and we'll see what the numbers are then so we know for sure, but we're not too hopefully at this point.

Not looking good. She bled a ton over the course of the night, and she actually looks like she's lost weight. She was a little bloated up with all of the hormones, but she now looks really thin again, so it appears to be a miscarriage. She's going in for another BETA tomorrow, but we've pretty much accepted a miscarriage at this point. If there is a silver lining, I guess it's that she actually got pregnant, so hopefully we have better luck next time. Thanks everyone for your advice.
