Hey guys I have not been feeling well since retrieval. Bad, bad pains in my lower stomach, like horrid gas. I have never felt like this.
Anyway I am heading to my transfer in a few.

Not the greatest news for me. They only pulled at 5 eggs and of those, only 3 were mature very very odd. They all fertilized and were at 2 cells yesterday ( I was hoping for 4 cells ). I do not know what they are today, I guess I will find out when I get there in a bit. They need to be at least 6 cells to be considered grade 1 (along with no or little fragmentation).

I felt much more optimistic a week ago than I do now. One thing I HATE is doing the progesterone shots after you get a negative HPT. My clinic does not do betas till 18 DPO....so long after you already know and they expect you to keep shooting up till they confirm it.

Anyway, maybe I will get there and be pleasantly surprised with 8 and 6 cell embies, but I have a very bad bad bad feeling right now.

Will let you know what happens later today. Good luck to everyone!

OK guys had 3 put back today (day 3). Two grade 1s (8 cell, 7 cell) with no frag and a grade 3 at 4 cells with no frag.

The transfer went well (quick and easy). But one of the three decided to cling to the catheter and we had to re transfer it. It made it find on time two. Have no idea which one that was. My doctor asked if the tech had looked (but she needs to check under a higher power scope to see cell numbers). My doctor said no biggie.

So gotta just pray now!

Helen, i am thinking twins as well. If that second beta is more than double you are in double trouble.

Elida, i can't wait for your first US. I know there are 3 in there.

Lynnie, congrats on the good quality embies!!!

Rhonda, i am sorry. I just saw the results on another thread. HUGS!!!!!!

2nd beta

Post by krisnerol »

Hi All,

I went for my second beta 11/26 and it was 496 (1st beta on 11/24= 259). They were happy. I go for my u/s 12/4 and I'm a nervous Nelly. I want to just "enjoy" the fact that I'm pregnant but I'm so busy 2nd guessing every little thing. With my DD my 2nd beta went up way more than double. I know every person and pregnancy is different, but...Then I read in other forums of betas in the thousands and I really get bummed. Anyone else like me? I have had 3 mc's so I know that's weighing heavy on my mind. Thanks for listening...

Hi everybody
I'm really glad to see that you've started this thread as more and more women are over 40.
My eggs were all bad my first cycle & I did TCM (traditional chinese medicine>>>acupuncture and herbs) for 3 months before my 2nd.
My FSH dropped to 6.9 from 10.6 and the 3 eggs I transferred actually were B's and C's instead of E's and F's.
I kept at it for a total of 8 months...it was expensive but I ended up saving a lot of money when the clinic made a mistake with dosing on the 3rd one and had to switch to IUI.
Virutally no chance with IUI to get pregnant at my age but it happened...I know it was due to the TCM.
I'm not out of the woods yet, but I never could have imagined coming this far after my first cycle.

I encourage everyone to try TCM, with a real chinese doctor if you are having trouble getting pregnant...you will feel wonderful. Change your diet, quit coffee, refined sugar, alcohol...eat warm foods during your cycle. It's amazing.

Congrats to all those over 40's with BFP's!!!! Woo hoo

Good Morning Ladies:

Kelly, omg 3 can you imagine!!! Rin welcome to the 40's board..

Helen, that is a nice jump in betas. How many did you put back and what day post transfer was your 1st beta? Sounds like multiples to me!!!!

Kris, it is completely normal to be nervous until you hear that lil heart beat or at least see it.. Enjoy being pregnant and know that all will be fine..

I have my U/S tomorrow and I am nervous too. I shall keep you ladies posted

Have to run ladies, still have xmas shopping to get finished. Have a great day
