stopping breast feeding - advice please

Post by rebeccaj »

hello, my twin girls are now 7.5 months and I think the time has come to stop breast feeding. Can anyone give me advice as to how to do it with the least pain possible? I only breast feed at night and one a day and are doing bottles for the rest of the feeds. is it possible to go cold turkey? does the milk just dry up or do I need to express? Any help from those who've been through it would be appreciated. Many thanks, Rebecca

Hey Rebecca! My twins were pretty easy to cut off actually. Easier than I thought.
I went to one morning feeding first which. Also, I don't give my kids a bottle, I give them a sippy cup and always have for anything extra. They were both able to use it from about 6 months on and it seemed so different from the breast that they didn't relate it to me at all. Then I just literally stopped one morning and went straight to our normal breakfast with a sippy of milk and they never knew the difference.

This all happened last week PS!!!! Annelise actually did it about a month ago for good on her own but my son gor cut off last Sunday! The babies are 15 months today and it's still a bit sad for me but since I am pg again I thought I better rest my body. I didn't need to do anything either since we were down to one feeding only.

Good luck to you!
