hi Guys,

Hope everyone had a happy thansgiving:)

My re appointment didn't go too well on Wednesday, i actually feel very numb with all this. Even though we upped the estrace tabs to 4mgs a day my lining didn't have any change it was still a 8 :? So now he added a Estradoil pump cream 2x a day so i will be taking 4mgs of the estrace tabs and 1.5 mgs of estrgen through the cream. I don't know what to think, the last 2 times i did not have this type of expereince but then again i was on the Lupron and was using the vivelle patches 1.5mgs. the patches seem to be more effectiveon then the tabs. I am just worried now that my lining will be too old for a transfer. I have been taking estrace for 28 days... do you guys think it will work???? i go in on wednedsay for another check but i might ask him to see me on Monday so we can see what is going on..... i am really bummed and not sure if this cycle will be cancelled? I think that the antiboitcs that i was taking probably did not allow the estrace to work effectively.. Any thoughts here ladies?????

Hmmm wonder what is up with the lining. That seems strange to me too. I can tell you this. Oh my second IVF cycle, my estrogen took forever to climb and I had horrible quality embies. It was only like that the one time, all others (3 rounds) have been pretty consistent.

So what was the difference, I was on a few medications that were supposed to be safe and have no effect. Well I think it was them.

So maybe it was the antibiotics? Sorry this is going on so long!

SO a quick google brought up this..

When the woman is taking antibiotics, sometimes the intestinal bacteria are inhibited, which in turn inhibits the usual re-absorption of estrogen.

Lynniecat- thanks for looking that up for me, don't know why i didn't think of googling it...... i am convinced it was the amoxil b/c i was on the estrace 2 mgs and my lining went to a 5 in five days then i got sick and was on amoxil for 7 days then i was off for 4 days- whicj i think the lining thickened to a 7 then i got sick again with a different cold and went back on the antibotics for another 7 days whicj in this time my lingin bearly grew to an 8 and here i am so it makes sense that the amoxil got in the way of the estrace absorbtion- don't know what to expect for Wednesday but i think i want to see if i can go in on Monday since i am a bit impatient to see what is going on..... URGH! Thanks for the support guys!

Hope,

You must be feeling so frustrated! it sounds like you could be right lynniecat and the antibiotics may have something to do with it. have you put a general question out on the rest of the board hope to see if anyone else had had the same thing happen? I guess if they think the lining would be too old they would suggest you abandon this cycle and start again? They must still feel confident if they haven't suggested that.
Thinking of you.

Take Care

Lupron Long Protocol

Post by Sunshine1974 »

Hope33 - Thanks so much for the information. The facility I go to in NYC follows the Lupron cycle that begins on Day 2 of my menstrual cycle. I had started taking the Aygestin twice daily until Day 4, where I started to include the Lupron 10 unit injections. Day 7 was the last day of my Aygestin but continue the Lupron injections. The doctors warned me I'll more than probably start bleeding again, but yesterday, Day 11, I started bleeding all over again. It wasn't just a little more than a little bleeding but a normal menstrual cycle for me. I called the facility and spoke with the doctor who continued to walk me through any questions or concerns I may have. He even told me that although they tell all patients to stick with Tylenol, that it was okay for me to take Motrin or Aleve since I suffer from a lot of pain and cramping but that these decisions are only made on a point by point basis. At this point I have a morning monitoring this coming Friday, Day 16, So we'll see how things are progressing.

Thankfully I've had no adverse side effects from the Aygestin or the Lupron. Although today I was exhausted from bleeding so much (having Adenomyosis I bleed quite heavily), that by the time I got to the office and settled in, I was so irritated by this whole experience I packed up my stuff and went right back home. All day I've been, not listless, but completely unmotivated. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be feeling a little better.

I'll keep everyone posted,
Sunshine

hope33 wrote:sunshine1974- welcome and good luck with your cycle. the aygestin makes your AF come again so you should expect to see bleeding i think by the second third day... I remember when i was on the aygetin i had really bad headaches, & backaches where i had to lay down and the lupron made my joint ache you can take tylenol though, check with your Dr. But once i started using the estrace i felt better. i didn't have any other bleeding for the rest of the cycle. make sure to check in and let us know how you are doing :)

As far a i go- i was really sick for the past 5 days i had 102 fever and was on the couch. I really bad nose congestion and a sore throat. Still went to the Re ;ast wednesday and my lining is not ready yet for the Transfer. it is only an 8 and it needs to be a 10- i go back this wednesday to see what is going on.....

Jenn's information

Post by Sunshine1974 »

Jenn it seems your lining is looking good with a 9.5 since the docs typically want it to be a 10

E2 I'm not too sure, but your FSH is your follicle stimulating hormone that will read pending since they don't have the results from your blood test

The numbers they typically look for in your RT & LT ovaries that are viable for retrieval are typically numbers closest to 20. The docs told me a teeny bit under is okay since by the time they retrieve they'll be nice and "ripe." The docs told me over 22 usually means they may not feritlize but they do retrieve everything that is mature.

Hope that helps

Hello Hope33,

I am glad to know that you have been able to decipher the cause;all the same your body will respond positively if you eat or increase your intake of green vegetables including cabbages. I read from google that it thickens the lining of the womb. I stuck to it religiously myself, and for this second trial my lining did very very well. Wishing you the best of luck.

Hello Sara30 and Hope33,

Thanks for your thouhgts, I did the test yesterday, and it was a BFN. :( :( :( .

As you all know the swings will be on for sometime, I however hope to take at least 6months break, before I try again the third time.

I am still around anyway, to encourage you all through your journey, because your successes, is what will give me a reason to try again.

Take Care and wishing us all the best. Mally
