Angela - Glad things are going better!

Liz - Is the 4D scan an "extra"? Or does your OB normally do them? Part of me really thinks it would be cool... DH thinks they're creepy! lol

Pumma - I went for my 10 week scan today too! Baby looks great and was wiggling around obviously irritated that the u/s was distrubing "her" slumber! I love the wiggling...just think it's the coolest thing.

ajdec, great news! i can't wait to see my little baby in a couple of hours. how many more scans do you have scheduled. this will be my last one, they did not even want to do this one, but i asked and they said okay. do you get your scans at your regular ob/gyn?

Hi pumma - Have fun at your scan today! No, I've still been getting my scans at my RE's office. I have at least one more...they are weaning me off my endometrin suppositories and want me to come back at least next Tuesday for another check. Frankly, it's fine with me...I love getting all the reassurance that comes with the ultrasound.

I am going tomorrow to meet with my OB for the first time being PG. I met with the nurses a couple of weeks ago for the "give me all the literature" meeting, but we'll see the DR tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it!

Hi everyone! Glad to see the post still active. Liz, it must be awesome to for the 12 week scan. Mine is scheduled for the 12th. I can't wait. I have been on the quiet side as i had a really bad scare last week. I was walking (luckily in the house) and blood just started dripping down my legs (TMI..Sorry). I went to the bathroom and load of clots came out (again TMI. sorry). I really panicked. i thought this was it. Luckily my OB was on call that night and she told me to lie down and come in on monday. This was on Friday. So u can imagine..i had to wait the whole weekend. But she said that as long as i don't saturate a pad in an hour it should stop. Luckily it changed to spotting only. On monday my sonnogram showed a healthy baby with a really strong heartbeat of 176. But it also showed a sub chorionic bleed which the doctor said usually absorbs on its own. Doctor told me no exercise or lifting anything. So far the spotting has been on and off and on occasion light bleeding. I am really keeping my fingers cross. Just hope it goes away on its own.

Anyway enough of me. sorry to bore all of u'll but just wanted to get it off my chest. been a basket case lately.

Hello BabiesGalore,

I am so sorry to hear about your scary weekend. Your situation kind of sounds like mine. Please keep in mind that even though the spotting might stop now, it could come back at anytime and when it does take it easy and try to relax. I say this because I have been spotting with clots on and off for over 5 weeks, but for different reasons. I can tell when I am very active (i.e. walking at work) I would start to spot that night with some cramping. When the cramping started I would lie down and put my feet up until it stopped. Just take it easy, at least you know where the bleeding is coming from... it might take some weeks to resolve itself.

It does seem that spotting is pretty common. It can mean a problem. However, most of the time, I believe that it is due to all of the blood that circulating in the uterus. Just like, I've had nose bleed almost everyday. Lots of blood flowing. My clotting and spotting stopped after 10 weeks.
Many doctor's appointment coming up. YAY!!!!! Exciting stuff. I always hold my breath until I can see and hear movement.
About the 4D, I think that is the test that will give an accurate answer by Christmas. We've really got our hearts on finding on XMAS morning.
The 4D pics I've seen are pretty cool. Shows so much.

Babiesgalore - So sorry to hear about your scary time! But I'm glad things are going better now. It's so crazy, you'd think we got to do enough worrying during the IVF process...but it certainly doesn't let up once you get a BFP, does it!?

Sending good thoughts of snuggly babies to you all!

ajdec: thanks so much for asking, that was very thoughtful of you. my scan went well, i was so excited when the baby started to do a dance towards the end of the ultrasound. it was just so cool. the heartbeat was perfect and the baby measured 36 mm, which is exactly were it should be. now i'll have my 12 week ob/gyn appointment in less than two weeks. we are also doing the nt test on the same day, to check for any birth defects. i wasn't sure if i wanted to do the nt test or the quad, but they said that the nt test is much better than the quad.

liz: have you done any prenatal testing and will you.

what about the rest of you? sometimes i don't want to do any testing, since it's not going to make a difference anyway. hm, ...

hope all is well with everyone.

Hey ladies,
Everyone staying warm. Freezing in Georgia. brrrrr.
Yes, they offered the 4D test for $100.00
That's what we're giving each other for xmas. I hope. We say that
and he always has something else and I have nothing for him. Pisses me off. :)
We did the NT test Monday. Everything measure just fine. I'm not doing any other tests for defects beside the quad test. Isn't that a blood test???

We actually met with our OB yesterday and decided against the nucal (sp?) test to check for Downs and others. We already know we do not want an amnio if the results came back questionable...and we're not going to terminate the pregnancy even if they came back bad...so we decided against the testing. I actually feel really good about our choice. When DH and I were talking about it on the way to the DR, he brought up not having the test and I wasn't too excited about the idea. But after talking to our DR and really getting some good food for thought, not doing the test is really the right choice for us. Our DR said that only about 50% of her patients have the test done.

Woke up today with some cramping/pain. Frustrating. I laid down for a bit and it went away. So I got up to start getting ready for work and it came back. Called my DR and they said to just call them back if it gets worse or more consistent. Probably just "growing pains" but still scary. No spotting though...so that makes me feel a little better. I have had two u/s this week and the one at my OB office yesterday was a little painful as my ovaries are still large from the treatments. So, part of me thinks that may have contributed to the pain today too.

So...sitting at home today....

Hello Ajdec,

I had something similar two Fridays ago. When I woke up to go to work I noticed a pain over my right ovary area and some mild cramping. So I figured it must be a cyst or something similar to that. Luckily, I already had an u/s scheduled for that very afternoon. My RE said that my ovaries were still enlarged and I had a few cysts on my ovaries. It was very uncomfortable but it eventually went away.

So take it easy and I am sure it will go away.
