Questions...please help, endo and alternative therapy

Post by nali1278 »

So my gut feeling was correct and it was another failed ivf cycle :( Thanks to all of you who helped me get through the horrible 2ww. I met my doctor for a review today and she feels that my eggs are not doing as well as they should be in a woman of my age, and even though I am producing many in response to the medication (19 last time) not enough are growing properly - I had only one to transfer last time, and have had only 2 embryos ever to freeze (one didn't make it through the thaw and the other didn't take).

She feels I may have endometriosis and has booked me in for a laparoscopy in feb next year. She also recommended I see a naturapath who works with Melbourne ivf for the 2 months I am off treatment (this month and next).

Does anyone here have endo, or has been treated successfully for it and fallen pregnant?

DH: 34 yrs
TTC: 2 years
IUI 1: BFN
IVF 1: BFN
Thaw cycle 1 - failed - embryo didn't survive
IVF 2: BFN

Hi Nali1278, I too struggle with endo. I havn't gotten pregnant yet, but I too would love to hear from anyone who has overcome the endo curse.

As an alternative therapy, I have been doing acupuncture for about year. I also totally changed my diet. No white flour, no sugar, less carbs. It helped my pain, and my 2nd IVF we got almost double the amount of blasts. I am still waiting for that BFP.

I would love to hear what your naturapath recommends you do.

Good luck.

My wife has moderate endo. She had a laparoscopy that removed an endometrioma before our first IVF, although that is palliative and not a cure. Our fourth IVF was successful.

Funny story about how she was tentatively diagnosed: a doctor familiar with endo asked her (1) what do you take for your period, and (2) does it help. After her answers ("four ibuprofen" and "it takes the edge off"), he said she probably had endo. He was the one that eventually did the laparoscopy and removed the endometrioma.

She's had three periods since giving birth, and the endo seems to be a lot less severe now. Whether that was because of the pregnancy or because of some dietary changes we made around then, I don't know.

Hi,
I have been through IVF 7 times and I am doing another one next week. Even though 7 times. I think you may try chinese herb or chinese relxation methods.

Thanks,
Kuny
