This is getting interesting. Per betabase the average beta 20dpo for twins is only 1642 and the average beta 20dpo is only 2427. YIKES!!!! Man i can't wait for the ultrasound.

Helen: Wow, what a beta number! I can't wait to hear the result of your ultrasound on Friday.

I'm still taking my Estrace and waiting for my ultrasound on Monday.

Take care all,

Hey guys...well just not feeling it at 9 DPO. Been down this road before, many a time for both BFPs and BFNs and I always new at this point, always. I have this weird reaction to being pregnant, I get this very odd feeling. So don't say I am wrong here, but.....I am sure this was not my month.

Yup, I will still do the progesterone and estrogen, but will tell the nurse to let me do my beta on day 14 instead of day 18. No WAYYYY do I need to inject progesterone till day 18.

So I know, you will all want to tell me to keep the faith, etc. etc. But let's pretend you already did that.......;-)

So, my biggest question is has anyone gotten a loan for IVF - donor eggs -- I was hoping to take one from IRA, but I guess that is not allowed and no long have 401K doh--- just rolled it over! And the other question is if you think I should try again or do donor eggs. I thought this would work having gotten twins from 5 eggs in Feb, but after 3 failed attempts following I am not sure its worth it. But here is the twist, round 2 just went wacky from start as I was on meds so I do not count that. Round two had a HORRIBLE transfer so I can argue that was not fair. So I could justify another round.

So here are my choices:

CCRM --but must pass a CCT (brother agreed to pay)

or

Donor eggs and take a loan for 30K (I also have no job).

Thoughts anyone?

Hi Lynnie-Cat!!!

I do not know what to advise because I am EXACTLY in your same boat!! And by the way, I already talked to Doctor Schoolcraft and he said I did NOT have to do the Clomid Challenge if I did not want to...He said he just STRONGLY advises...Maybe the bad economy is causing his lines to "blur"?

Anyway, I am 13 days past transfer and have know every other time at day 9 when I was pregnant. So I know this round is a failure. In fact, I just called my clinic and asked if I could test today because I do not want to take the progesterone any longer. I am so bloated.

Besides donor eggs I am also thinking about maybe one more try.....But I am not sure my husband will agree as I have depleted our savings account!!!

Agh!

Anyway, sorry I cannot be more helpful but I can definitely feel for you!

Big hug,
Hilary

FYI....I just got a phone call from my RE and they say I must wait till Saturday b/cause there could be late implantation.......So I will try and stay hopeful as I take another progesterone pill. ;-)

Yeah Hil,

I am soooooo glad you understand me! You just know...its clear. I do not know how or why, but I am NEVER wrong. Anyway, you may have had better antral follicles or AMH than me so clomid challenge is not mandatory. I can call and ask again. They do not know I cycled in MD. So maybe explain it all.

Will your husband let you do donor eggs. Mine is also not as into babies as me and says he could be happy with no kids, not me! So I worry about the money I am spending!

First ultrasound--need input

Post by krisnerol »

Hi Ladies,

I went for my u/s today (today I'm 5w5d prego, though my er was in the afternoon, so the fertilization would have been later in the day and my u/s was 7:40 am, so maybe I'm 5w4-1/2d!; am I grasping?) Anyway, everything went well, BUT the technician said that the TWO (yes two) sacs "should" be measuring around 1cm and they're measuring 1/2 cm. My nurse and actually all the nurses in the office were quick to say that it's still very early, that sometimes the sac starts off slow and catches up, that all they were concerned with seeing today was (a) how many (b) were they in my uterus and (c) was there something in the sac (there is in both). I was sobbing. I asked if there's still hope and they're all very optimistic, but the tech's words can't get out of my head. The two babies explain a lot--why I am so very tired all the time and why my pants are already not fitting! I feel pregnant and try so hard to put this in God's hands, but it's a roller coaster ride. I go back in two weeks and will pray and think good, happy thoughts for my little ones til then, but was hoping for some positive feedback from you all. Oh, and for all the ladies with lower hcg #'s it doesn't necessarily mean there's only one--my #'s weren't very high and I have 2! They said the #'s can be like that. With my dd they had thought I had mulitiples 'cuz my #'s were high. So watch out Thanks, Kris Wink

I do understand you BUT I was thinking about it 9 dpt is EARLY you still have hope!!! It might not have burrowed in yet and that is why you do not feel anything yet...Just sayin'....:-)

My husband is exactly the same way as yours. He says he can be happy w/or w/out...Which puts MORE stress on me b/cuz I am spending all OUR $$$$ on it....(Beside being moody and writing on a fertility board when I should be working :-) )

I just still have HOPE so I am thinking I am going to try ONE more time. (This will be the third--out of pocket--the $$$ was going to be the down payment on our house.)

And then there is the CCRM decision...They definitely have higher success rates for older women BUT they are definitely more expensive AND I do not know if I can drag my husband there....There would also be the stress of being there for two weeks w/out him!

Anyway, I still have my fingers and toes crossed that some sort of miracle will bring us babies this cycle!!!

Hugs,
Hil

TWO! That is awesome. Yes too early to know. Wait and see on the U/S. This may sound awful of me, but I like know there are two as it means if one does not make it (miscarries) you still have another one!

Lynnie and Hilary i am sorry you both feel like your cycles were a bust. I hope you are wrong but i respect your desire not to have smoke blown up your butts. We got a American Express with a 15k limit and no interest for a year. I googled ivf loans and there were a lot of hits so you should be able to find something.

Kris, you little stinker. What is up with all you old ladies getting knocked up with multiples. It is crazy man. Okay, i am a little confused. You measured only 1 day behind? I wouldn't worry too much. When is your next US?

Tammy, i hope your lining is perfect.

I will update the roster soon but i am feeling very lazy right now.

more on u/s

Hi Kelly,

The tech. couldn't measure the sacs because they were "out of range" (too small) so I didn't get a "day" measurement. She just said that at this stage they "should" measure 1 cm and they measure 1/2 cm. What do you think about this? It seems big to me, but the nurses kept saying not to worry...kris

Since your betas are good, the sacs looked normal but small and the nurses kept saying not to worry then i would try not to worry. That is the thing with early ultrasounds, they do nothing but scare the crap out of you if the results are not textbook. This is a good site. It will make you feel better.
