High E2 levels early on (taking Bravelle anyone)

Post by JJC »

I have read alot of discussion about low E2 levels.
I have higher levels and am stressed.
I started off on 3 vials Bravelle and 1 menopur
On day 4 my E2 level was 923 15 follies
On day 6 my E2 level was 2042 22 follies
RE reduced my Bravelle to 2 vials on day 6 and day 7 I will go to 1 vial and day 8 no Bravelle.
I am worrying too much but I am so emotional. Has anyone expierenced similar situation? I know RE is worried about OHSS but he does say my overies look great and he would not expect E2 to be so high. I have alot of eggs but not that high. Will my level go down?

JJC- I have been dealing with the stress at this part in the process as well. My baseline E2 was 14. On Day 4 of stims, I was at 1051. I am waiting for my Day 6 b/w results as we speak. I am almost positive that it has increased because i went from 21 follies to 28. I take 75ui of Menopur and 300ui of Gonal-f. On day 4, my Gonal-f was reduced to 225ui and am waiting for my nurse to call me because i will be decreasing the Gonal-f again tonight.

I asked my RE about OHSS and he said it is a concern but it is a small concern. They will be moving everything up 1 day. So, instead of my trigger being next Monday, it'll be on Sunday. This way, they can eliminate 1 day of stims. He said it doesnt look like a case that he'd cancel. If your RE is thinking about cancelling, ask him about coasting. I read alot about that over the last few days becasue I was going to speak with my RE about it if he said anything about canceling my cycle because of OHSS.

I know you are nervous about the whole E2 level bcuz I was scared. You think once you start stims you are out of the woods, but you aren't out of the woods until you are in that 2WW. Everyday could be a day that something (E2, FSH, LH, Progesterone levels) could cancle your cycle. You should be okay though. Your numbers are lower than mine. You will be fine. It seems we are on the same cycle. We'll be fine. See you in the 2WW. :D

JennJenn- It sounds like we are on the same schedule! I started stims Thanksgiving. My RE is taking me down- tomorrow I am to take no Bravelle and just the Menupur. He didn't mention canceling he just seemed concerned. I asked the nurse about canceling and she said it could happen but have to see how I react to the reduction of the stims. Let me know what your day 6 E2 is?

OK. Still waiting. I think the nurse just likes to torture me. I took the blood test this morning at 9 a.m., normally she calls 2 hours later. It is now 2:06p.m. in Texas. I started stims on Thanksgiving too.

Just as i was typing....the nurse called. Estrogen level is at 2557. I asked her if it was good or bad. She said, "Oh. Its good. You are moving along quite nicely." I am decreasing Gonal-f from 225ui to 150ui though.

Ladies,

I am also concerned about my e2 levels. My baseline was 39. My first ultra sound (day 6 i think) was 1900 and today (day 8 i think) its 3680.

That seems pretty high for me, especially as i am a poor responder (although obviously not so much on this new protocol). I have been having hot flashes and headaches, all apparantly symptoms from rapidly rising e2. My RE now wants me to trigger tonight for ER on Saturday.

Any thoughts on these high nummbers? I'm tripping over this

Kas- Did RE reduce your stims? Are taking stims tonight? I think your level is not too high fo you to be triggering. I have heard some women in the 5,000-7,000 range. My RE just starts thinking of canceling around 3,500-4,000 but your level should start going down. I am still learning about all this but this is my pep talk to you.

JJC I took my stims this morning before the u/s and was told not to take any more. I'm on a high dosage anyway 600units of menopur as i have been a poor responder in the past and have struggled to get just 4 eggs.

This new protcol seems to be much better, but of course now my e2levels have taken everyone by surprise and i have to trigger tonight. I have several eggs that are now 25mm which is huge and probably too big, as over 23mm can be unusable, but we will see. This cycle has already been cancelled once and resurrected a day later, so i am prepared for just about anything at this point.

What day of stims are you on right now? I'm guessing you will be triggering in the next few days

KAS-Today is day 8 for me. Yesterday morning I had an us and my follies were all between 8-11. RE has drastically reduced my meds. I was taking Bravelle and Menopur but tonight I will only take 1 vial Menupur (1 vial is 75??) I go to RE tomorrow. I am think I will have ER sun or mon. RE told me that after follies are size 10 they grow faster so I hope tomorrow mine are bigger and he will give me some sort of timeline. I also hope my E2 stopped rising. I feel bloated today. I had to unbutton my pants at work. LOL No headaches today though so that is good. I hope your E2 stabalizes. Keep me posted you are one step ahead. How many eggs do you have?

I think i have about 11 eggs, and i started stims on 26th with Lupron for 2 days then Menopur on the 28th. I had a severe allergic reaction to Lupron and ended up i hospital so i had to stop it.

I think am just one of those people - if something is unexpected or rare i am bound to get it. WHy cant it work the other way around so i can win the lottery or something??????

Anyway i will trigger tonight and i've decided there is nothing i can do at this point, so i may as well stop panicking about ovulating or over ripe eggs, we will just have to see. Hopefully ER and ET will be smooth sailing and i can catch a break from here on out :)

KAS and JEN- I went in this morning for another check up. Today will be day 9 on stims. KAS I have been on Lupron since the 21 bust started Menupor and Bravelle on the 27. My doctor sid everything is moving along. I think I have at least 20 follies around 15-18 in size. He is not too worried about my estrogen. Said he would like to see at least 2000 by the end but I was just moving up too fast. I am anxiosuly waiting for the call with my E2 level. He is keeping my on the low, low dose he has moved me too and wants to seee me tomorrow. He is pretty certain my ER will me Mon. I guess that means I will trigger tomorrow. I have my fingers crossed for both of you. Keep me posted. I am thinking positive thoughts.

Sounds like a great number of follies there and a good size as well. They should be perfect by ER, and it does sound like you will trigger tonight or tomorrow

Let us know your E2 levels when you get the call, but sounds like you are doing really well !!!

It was ok :? I have a bruise and i have to admit i was a big baby about getting the shot as its into the muscle and even though i have done IVF before SOMEHOW ihave been very lucky and never had to do an IM shot before!!! Last time my trigger was sub cutaneous and i had progesterone suppositories, so i had it easy.

This time i will be on prog in oil so i had better get used to them fast!!!!

I was such a baby though and had a little freak out before DH jabbed me. He told me to stop being a little punk and keep still. Then he jabbed me

It was quite funny really
