Kas - Congrats on the 9 eggs. That is good. I guess maybe the DHEA does help. Now go rest and relax for a few.

prayin - 6 fertilized eggs is good. So why are they doing PGD, if you don't mind me asking?

I will be keeping my fingers crossed for both of you.

I know our calender needs to be updated really bad, I will try and update it on Monday while I am at work. If anyone want to put some updates in it go ahead. Just go to the last posted calender and hit "quote' that is in the right hand corner of the box. the put in whatever you want and hit post.
Almost done with me research paper. YEAH. I am going to try and make a white chocolate blueberry cheescake today. I have never had this before but it sounded really good. Wish me luck.

tohavefun...I am doing PGD because I have fragile x chromosome in my family. We want to be certain I am not passing it on. Also because I am 40 I have a higher chance of having a baby with a chromosome disorder so we felt it was something we wanted to do.

Prayin Congrats on your fert report, i hope the PGD goes well. Its certainly something that gives great peace of mind and you always know the embies you are putting back are good ones, so pregnancy rates tend to be that bit better on PGD

When are you having your ET? I guess it takes longer for the PGD so maybe you will be doing a day 5? I would love a day 5 transfer but my RE does not believe they are any better (although from what i have seen i disagree with him here) and so the whole clinic only does 3 day transfers

To Have Fun Your cheesecake sounds so good.... I have a real sweet tooth and i have been thinking all day about a big bar of toblerone. When DH gets home i'm hoping he will run over to CVS for get one for me. I am also thinking an ice cold beer sounds pretty good, but i probably should just stick to the toblerone i guess

Prayin - good luck with doing PGD. Hoping that you have some good eggs in there that don't have the fragile x.

Kas - STAY AWAY FROM THE BEER! I will have a few for you
I know your E2 levels were really high. Is you RE worried about OHSS? Just drink alot of fluids and eat some protein.
My cheescake is now in the oven. I was a little mad because I over heated my Garadehilli white chocolate so I couldn't use it. Had to use Toll House white morsals instead. Oh well, it should still be good.

good evening ladies. I am currently watching some amazing football- perfect evening for me i guess. still waiting for my 2nd u/s (only 8 more days away) but i think my pregnancy symptoms are finally coming back. Oddly enough, its some much needed relief from this worrying I have been addicted to for the past 18 months!

Not really nauseated so much, just light headed and a low level sickness in my stomach. Oh well, hopefully the little guy is snuggling in and has a faster hr when we go in next. I know 99.6 isnt anything to freak out over at 6w2d but its always hard to not worry when you dont meet the RE's expectations. Have a great night! I'll try to get to my personals tomorrow.

Congratulations JDC! So you POAS twice and positive both times? Sounds like your PG for sure! You must be so excited. :D

Robin, glad to hear your u/s went well. I'm not sure where to find the fetal pole on the u/s? My RE didn't point it out and didn't really talk about the sac either. Maybe I'll ask more questions on Monday.

Pixelgirl, it sounds like you are totally at peace with whatever your results may be. I'm hoping you get your BFP. And you're right, many of us had few or no symptoms, so it seems hard to tell until the actual beta test. Hang in there!

Kas and prayin4BFP, you both really had a good ER's, 9 is great! Hope you are both resting and taking it easy until ET. Kas, funny you mentioned beer. I was a huge beer girl before but honestly haven't missed it. I just knew I'd have a hard time on the weekend when DH has a few, but it really hasn't bothered me. I guess because I've been so blah.

WaitingFor4, I guess you and I are both settled in for the night. My DH is out of town and I went and rented the Sex in the City movie. I think I'm the last girl to see it!

Karen, how much could I pay you to ship a piece of the white chocolate blueberry cheesecake to me? Seriously, I've had a heck of a time with my appetite and nausea, but that sounds like it would hit the spot right about now!

so my symptoms came back last night - this progesterone is tricky stuff, man. Mostly backache and cramps. they stayed with me today all day too. the RE said i could resume Pilates so i went this morning and i felt great afterward - less sloth-like and proactive. time is ticking by slowly on this 2ww. my mom is convinced we're pregnant cause a psychic told her so. i tried to bring her expectations down a little but not sure if it helped but it's great to know that she's being so supportive.

kas101- wow 9 eggs! you go girl!!! that is awesome! rest up!

praying4BFP - 6 fertilized! that's a great number! i felt really, really bad after my ER too and i didn't have any eggs left. i was so sore it hurt to even roll over and then i made the mistake of bending over and picking a sock up off the bathroom floor - BIG MISTAKE! HOLY CRAP!!!!! that took like 10 minutes to recover from. i was also insanely hormonal and feeling picked on. On the way home i told DH to stop at kroger so he could run in and get me chicken noodle soup and applesauce for later when i'd feel up to eating. i was totally fine at the time. DH goes in and decides that now is the opportunity to buy me a whole basket full of food - ice cream, flowers, all kind of nice stuff to pamper me. the anesthesia is wearing off and i'm started to feel really nauseous and sick and the pain is getting worse and DH is gone! nowhere to be found and i'm ready to puke in the kroger parking lot! so at some point i muster up the energy to go in there in search of him and i corner him in the frozen food section and in my post-anesthesia/hormonal/pain-induced/nauseous haze i start screaming at him that we have to go home RIGHT NOW!!!!!! he makes the mistake of saying, "ok sorry - let me just go pay for these items".... i made a scene and actually said the words, "YOU LOVE THOSE GROCERIES MORE THAN YOU LOVE YOUR OWN WIFE!!!!!!! WE'RE LEAVING NOW!!!!!" and turned on my heel to leave. he left the cart right where it was and took me home. poor guy! after i started feeling better - later in the day, i felt really, really bad. we can laugh about it now and affectionately refer to it as the "frozen food incident of 2008".

to have fun - i'm sure your cheesecake will be awesome and give martha stewart a run for her money!

wonderce - sex and the city is the awesome chick movie rental. good choice and enjoy! it's great!

Hey girls. Haven't been on for a while. It's hard to revisit the whole IVF thing after a BFN as some of you know. Just wanted to say that I'm very happy for the ones who have gotten BFP's and am praying for the ones who have gotten BFN's or cancelled cycles. It's one of the hardest things to ever have to go through.

We met with my RE again on Wednesday and there's some things he wants to do different if we try again. He feels that we need less Menopur and possibly more Lupron since I over-stimulated a little bit and got low quality eggs. He also wants to add Metformin. We are going to have to wait 8 months to a year before we will have the money again since our insurance pays absolutely nothing towards it. Anyways, just wanted to update. Hope everyone is doing okay and coping with their situations whatever they are.
TTC for over 4 years
HSG - tubes okay
DH semen analysis - good
Multiple clomid rounds and IUI - no sucess

hi ladies...i haven't been posting much lately, but looking forward to catching up :D my energy level has sucked and nausea has finally set in the last couple days. in between wanting to hurl today, i slept the whole day..and just felt like crap. like you robin i worried not having much symptoms..i've been asking god to give me m/s so that i can feel reassured, but what terrible timing- i've got stuff to do to get ready for xmas!! anyways, i'll stick to being grateful for still being PG.

i had a freak out the other day cause i thought my beta should have increased more....they've been doing weekly betas. my last one was 55,100, 6days after it was 30,000..didn't double. but thank god my OB saw me on short notice, and said it was fine, and beta's at this point (i'm 8 weeks monday) are pointless aside of a dramatic drop indicating m/c.

so i'm stopping the weekly betas, as i will only torment myself with the results.

robin- it must be hard without your dad..that's a big loss and my thoughts are with you...i'm glad you saw the h/b at your u/s. wonderful isn't it?!

mary- sorry to hear you're still so sick..

prayin4bfp- hope you recover from ER smoothly, sounds like those unretrieved follies were painful. 9 is a great # !!!

jandc- congratulations again, and 60 is a great number. and yes, i totally get the follow-up beta anxiety.

pixelgirl- your story about yelling at your dh totally cracks me up. i'm still laughing. that's awesome. prays to you for making it through the 2ww without losing it. keep yourself distracted is my best advice.

kas- wonderful you got 9 eggs!!! woohoooo!

hi wonder, good to hear from you. as for the cheesecake, think you got me and chris mixed up...but funny as i've been obsessing about cheesecake!

waiting for4..hang in there til your next u/s.it's so hard. my next one is friday, when i'll be 8wks, 4days..can't wait.

amanda- great to hear from you. glad you're persevering with a future cycle. i may have said this to you before but have you considered DHEA? if you're over 35..think about it. have you had a clomiphene challenge test? if you have, and had normal FSH at days 3 and 10 - you probably don't need DHEA..but if you've got 8 months to wait..you've got time to look into these things. the clomiphene challenge test takes 1 cycle to do, and most recommend taking DHEA at least 2 months before IVF stims, or as much as 4 months. best of luck to you, and i'm glad you're keeping in touch.

so i think i'm going to attack that update board while i've got the energy..i'll probably miss lots, so please help me out if need be. love andhugs karen

Oops Karen, you're right! I must have had you on my brain too because I've been wondering how you're doing. So correction, Chris, how about that cheesecake? :D

Amanda, good to hear from you. Karen has some great advice on things to try if possible. I thought I'd also mention that the clinic I am going to gives away 1 free IVF cycle each year at one of their seminars. DH and I entered earlier this year and didn't win, but we saw the lucky couple that did. I'm not sure how far a drive it would be for you though? It's Southeastern Fertility Center in Charleston SC.

Yes LadyJ, how are you?

Hey Ladies,

Amanda Good to hear from you. Last cycle after my BFN i really didnt feel like posting much although i still followed the board, so its really nice to hear you are ok and loking forward to the next cycle. I agree with Karen regarding DHEA. SHe and i were labelled poor reponders and over 35, and we both have seen a massive improvement in eggs this cycle. I did try new protocol and of course that may have contributed but there is a lot of research that shows great outcomes with DHEA - its worth investigating.....

Karen Thanks for updating the board, its good to see my name in the 'nearly there' list :)

Pixelgirl Loved your story !! Its good to know there is more than one drama queen here

wonderce, To Have Fun Hope you are having a relaxing Sunday :)

As for me, i am quite bloated from ER but havent needed any painkillers just going to take it easy. Got my fert report, and 8 fertilised  We are in total shock. ET will be Tuesday at 11am and my RE wants to put back 4 this time.

Sad news for me...just got off the phone with RE. Only 4 of my embryos made it so far. He is suggesting we freeze them and do another cycle then do PGD on all of them. If we have more eggs we have a better chance of having a good PGD result. I am devestated. This was so hard. RE is 2 hours away and the drives back and forth were so stressful and difficult. I had to leave my house at 5am everyday for BW and sonos. I cant imagine how you ladies that have done this more than once cope. I am a crying mess all the time. DH and I talked about it and i think he wants to take the RE advice and take a break until the end of january. I dont know what to do. RE says he will do whatever we want but wants to give us options because of the cost of PGD. I am just so sad. :(

kas101 - 8 fertilized! wow! that's awesome! who knows maybe the hives helped the situation for you!!

praying 4 BFP - so sorry to hear they're recommending another cycle before ET. that is so discouraging and I totally understand how you feel as i only ever wanted to do this one time and we pretty much made the decision when they tried to recommend canceling our cycle to forge on with it regardless so we wouldn't have to do it again and accept the consequences one way or the other. it's particularly tough when what seems like the biggest decision ultimately falls in our lap. do we follow the recommendations of our RE's, do we push back, what is the right path??? it's agonizing. people have always told me that when you come across what is right for you, you will know and feel it in your heart and that is "clarity". that is what scared me the most - what if i never get this allusive clarity and i run out of time? my suggestion would be to make a list of pros and cons with DH and once you see them all down on paper - see if you both get more of a sense of peace from one side of the paper or the other. if you do - if you slightly lean one way or the other, go with that peace. i think that's the clarity part poking through, albeit more dimly than we'd like sometimes. our prayers will be with you as you seek you peace and with whatever you decide.
