hi all
hope everyone is having a great day. after our rough emotional day yesterday we called our re's office and explained it was 1 year to the date of our m/c and we were worried. our re's nurse is sweet and offered for us to come in friday rather than monday. so we will go in tomorrow for another US. Then wed we meet with our RE who will release us to our OB b/c we will be 8weeks!
We are praying for tomorrow-time seems to go so slowly in between waiting. my DW is so very worried and every slight pain/cramp seems to worry her. She has no spotting or bleeding. is anyone else still having cramps/pains from time to time? I tried to be reassuring and told her it's stretching pains-we are having twins! and her ovaries are still large from the stim. we have no reason to think anything is wrong other than our anxiety from what happened last time.
how is everyone feeling? less or more tired? sore breasts same or better? are anyone's symptoms chaning as we get further along?
Hi Waiting for 4, glad to see you on this board now! My 1st u/s was at 7 weeks and h/r was 140. I was told that they could vary up or down though depending on when you have the u/s. I'm sure you are just fine. When do you go back for your next u/s?
Daizyp, congrats on your 2nd u/s! It sounds like some of us are unsure about our little h/r's. All I know is what I mentioned above, but if anyone has a good website on different h/r levels, I'd love to learn more. I thought I read somewhere that faster or slower h/r's sometimes helps determine the sex of the baby? I'm getting anxious for my 2nd u/s on Monday.
JerseyGal, thanks for the info. I know you and DH must still be taking in the extra excitement. I don't have any testing scheduled yet, but may ask at my appt Monday about when they will offer it. DH and I still haven't made a decision on what, if any, tests we'll do. I'm not familiar with Nuchal Transparency?
Kb, keep us posted after your u/s today! I'm sure going a little earlier will give you that extra reassurance that everything is just fine. I think I'm similar to your DW and have no spotting and just twinges from time to time. Still tired but breasts aren't sore any longer, and still dealing with waves of nausea and indigestion. I guess I better get used to it. Good luck today!
KB2131- I know it must be very hard for you two to NOT worry right now, but if it helps at all, I have had cramping on and off right along (nothing super bad, sorta like pre-AF, no spotting) and we are right on target with no problems. I read a lot about that online and I think you are right- esp. with twins-- she is just growing and things are shifting in there! But totally understand your apprehension and sending positive thoughts your way.
Wonderce- I don't think heart rate is related to baby's gender-- pretty sure that is one of those 'old wives tales'. Check out: http://www.fetaldopplerfacts.org/facts/ ... -facts.php
that was helpful for me. Good luck on your u/s Monday-- keep us posted!
Jersey Gal- no testing scheduled yet- but have the first appt. with regular OB next week so figure that will happen then. A friend of mine said they can identify gender as early as 13 weeks. Any one have plans to do so? Or too early to think about? DH and I are split on the topic.....
hi all
so we had another US this morning reassuring! both are measuring 7w1d and HR went up to 123 and 128 so we were happy! they said it is so normal to be worried but so far everything looks great.
we have an exit appt with our RE next wed as well as one last ultrasound.
DW and I have talked a little about what testing we will and will not have. I think we both feel that no matter what it shows it will not change our mind in going on with the pregnancy, so part of us feels like why make more anxiety by something coming up abnormal that really isn't. I don't think we will have CVS or amniocentesis but I guess we will discuss that at our OB visit. We have just heard so many stories about couples being told there are abnormalities and then they deliver perfectly healthy babies. what are everyone elses thoughts on this?
hello, I went to a new dr today. We got to hear the heartbeat and the baby trippled in size in 4 days. Heart rate went up to 133. They said not to worry about the bleed in my uterus. They said it is normal and common and my body will absorb it.. my cervix is shut and my uterus is nice and large. Sorry TMI!!! LOL. I am still nervous. I am due July 23rd.
Donna I am so glad you have the reassurance. Start enjoying your litle one growing and take one day at a time... You will be holding your little one before you know it...
Iam so happy for you
KB.. having a triple screen or a quad screen can cause much stress. I have heard of many people getting them done, getting reports on Downs and thank goodness doing nothing about it then delivering perfectly healthy babies. It is however an individial choice. If you get it done and dont plan on doing anything with this information, why bother putting you and DW through that stress... I lost a son in 89 from an amnio, so I will never again get it done, but with triplets they cant do those test anyway. I am just glad we had PGD done and only put back healthy normal embies...

jerseygal That's so great....twins!! I have the CVS scheduled for Dec18th...not that far away! We felt it best I do it because of my age, but we're going to the best guy in LA who pioneered it. I'm still nervous but he's got an amazing track record.
Wow all this talk about heartrates... thanks for the website daizyp ..mine seemed very fast. I was 176 at 7W4D, but it looks like that's still ok. Training for the marathon maybe I was on target...only one day off where we thought I was growth-wise.
I go in for another U/S next Wed 10th
Kb2132 Hang in! I've never come this far either & it is an anxious time. I'm glad it went well today!!
I have the odd light cramping sometimes...It's just the uterus stretching. My RE said as long as it's not major & there's not blood, it's normal.
I'm not too tired, but my queasiness is worse on some days. Apparently it tops out at 10 weeks. Not looking forward to it getting any worse....eating so much trying to calm it down.
doddo Really glad things looked good today with the HB & clot. It'll be alright!
Everybody else...much love & good vibes!

hi all, sounds like good things are happening to us as a group! glad to hear the positive updates about u/s and h/b's...i've been researching h/beats but it's hard to find exact info attached to weeks of PG. but i've read several places that it tops out around week 8 (as much as 180 bmp) and then lowers a bit. weeks 6-7 is usually 90-120.
yea i don't have a lot of visible symptoms, my incessant peeing is slowing down, acne is subsiding, but nausea has kicked in big time. no vomiting, but constant urges to the past 3 days. i'm eating lots too to calm it down. it sucks. lots of indigestion too. i took my last beta test at 7.3 weeks, it was 55,100. i have an u/s this coming friday, i'll relax more then.
i'm not sure about nuchal trans. or cvs, or amnio yet...i'm too focused on just making it through the next few weeks. my fear of m/c is subsiding..but still lurking too. my OB brought up these screens to me and i felt shocked- i then realized i'm so full of fear of m/c that in a lot of ways, i've assumed it's going to happen!! so i'm refocusing my energies on success and plans ..i even bought a PG book (the mayo clinic one) and baby room decorations! it felt good.
hope everyone is well and best of luck to those going for u/s's this week! karen

Daizyp, I checked out that website and it sounds like you're exactly right. I guess the old wive's tales aren't too reliable so I'll just have to wait until the 14-week u/s, or whenever they can tell the gender. I'm pretty sure we'll find out though, can't handle the curiosity!
Kb, congrats on your good u/s last week! We just learned more about the different testing this morning. I think we may do the blood testing (is that CVS?) and nuchal but not sure we'll do amnio. It would just help us to prepare either way. Elida has some good advice too though. I guess it's each individual's decision. Best of luck with your decision.
Yeah Doddo! Congrats on your u/s too. Glad to hear the bleed is not going to cause you any problems. Now you can just enjoy and not be worried!
Rinnie, it's good to know that nausea tops out at 10 weeks. I'm almost there since I measured at 9 weeks this morning, and am hoping for it to start getting better soon. I'm so worried my nutritional intake right now is not good.
Karen, glad to hear you've refocused and are not so worried now about m/c. And the regular u/s and b/w must be helpful. Let me know what foods you are eating that are agreeing with you because I can't seem to find much.
So I went for my 2nd u/s today and I'm actually measuring a little farther along at 9 weeks. And the h/r was 174! My RE said everything looked great and he was happy for me to "graduate" from him today to my OB doctor. I was a little sad to say goodbye. He and his staff have been so wonderful to me the past 3 or so years. I'm excited for the next phase now though. If we do the testing he said it's better to go in the next couple of weeks, so I guess we'll get started on setting that up. I feel so excited and blessed!
Karen That's great to focus on other things! Nausea is supposed to be a good thing I keep telling myself I go in for my next U/S on Wed, then fingers crossed, get released to my OB.
wonderce That's really good news about the U/S. It will be strange leaving my RE but I love my OB so it's all good.
My nausea is pretty much 24/7 but no vomiting...some times of the day I get a little relief but not for long. For some reason cheese seems to help me...but goat cheese because it's easier to digest. They have hard goat cheese now, that looks like cheddar. I think regular cheese would be too constipating. Such lovely conversation.. nausea & constipation Anyway, a hunk of cheese calms the nausea for me.
As far as the blood test...no that's not the CVS. CVS is like the amnio where they sample fluid, only earlier at 10-12 wks. What a lot of people do if they're younger is do the nouchal ( because it's only an ultrasound) and blood. Then if there's anything that's abnormal they do the CVS or Amnio. So you'd want to do the nouchal at 11 weeks in case you need to do a CVS after. Our test window is over Christmas, so I got mine scheduled at the end of the week before. I was afraid the Dr would be away.

hi wonder, like rinnie, i find cheese good right now, toast with peanut butter or almond butter (get some good fats/protein on it too), pasta. pretty much anything starchy is easier for me. raw veggies have been going ok too- esp. cucumber, celery. i'm avoiding cauliflower. other foods that work for me: bananas, bits of steak or meatballs have been good- (chicken is a total turnoff). ginger cookies, sour candies, liptons chick noodle soup, nacho chips, mandarin oranges, granola bars or cereals.
i'm trying not to over-starch my self with carbs, but it's hard.
rinnie- that's neat you remembered my dilemma with my friend last time. she had a baby boy a few weeks ago. my bitterness has subsided, but we're still barely connected. i've sent her a few emails...she's barely responded. i chalk it up to her being busy and try not to take it personally. i sent her a beautiful baby congratulations card and a gift certificate as i dn't anticipate being invited to a baby shower. it hurts to lose friends over this. i've been seeing a counselor who's been helping me handle all the impact of IVF and m/c..it's been helpful to hear him say ''given the circumstances, my behavior is normal'.. as sometimes i'm hard on myself and expect more. i am proud that i think i took the higher road with her- reaching out first, and continuing to do so, albeit sporadically. it would have been easier to hide.
i'm frustrated as my body hasn't changed much...i think i'm expecting too much too soon. but i read these baby books that say my clothes should be getting tighter and my boobs should be getting bigger. and neither are happening. how's this for other ladies? i do have acne, nausea, and major shortness of breath at times...
hi to jerseygal, doddo, daizy, kb, much hope, and waiting for4 (welcome!- i get your reluctance to put yourself in the "PG" category), and hi to anyone else i missed!

Karen I think you took the high road & that's all you can do. This process is so difficult, on top of regular pregnancy. You'll also meet and bond with new people too as a result, so there are new friends and experiences waiting for you and helping you get through.
My boobs have been bigger for awhile & I have a bit of a tummy as I've been told not to exercise the first trimester. It's hard not to...I feel like a blob. My tummy's usually flat so it's very noticable. Still wearing the same pants, but quite snug
Mandarin oranges...yes!! love them right now. Most fruit is great. I also can't do chicken, but hamburger is ok & I love avocado. Also a few almonds.

hi everyone! happy monday to us all
wonderce-further along is great! congrats on graduating to your OB
doddo-congrats on the HB-it's such a nice feeling isn't it?
MuchHope-when is our next appt to see how the 3 little ones are doing? we are so excited for you!
Rinnie-good luck on the 18th-sounds like you are in great hands
Karen-good luck friday!
we have alot going on this week-so excited for everyone and so thankful for this message board...
DW is craving dairy like crazy. milk with everything-last night she had some ice cream-and put milk in it she has been nauseated alot as well-no vomiting but waves throughout the day. Eating seems to help it though.
We have our last US with RE wednesday and then our exit meeting-I set up an appointment with the OB for next week we will be 9 weeks then
the anxiety has calmed a bit-i think it will be much better when we reach that 2nd trimester point. She still feels cramping sometimes really low-no spotting but I told her it's normal-especially with twins-they have alot of growing to do! are any of you still getting cramping/pain from time to time?
Rinnie and Karen, thanks for the food tips. You're right, cheese seems to be okay. I had some Saltines and cheddar slices yesterday that went down okay. And the pasta is a great idea too. I forgot how good spagetti and meatballs are and actually felt pretty good after I ate it last night. But I also tried my first dose of Zofran with it, so that may have done the trick. It was just nice to eat and not feel like I could get sick before I finished! I'll give some of your other ideas a try too.
Rinnie, thanks for helping me understand the different tests. You're right, we'll probably do the b/w and nouchal and then take it further if needed. That's good planning on your part to get it scheduled before the holidays. I'm hoping to do the same.
Karen, the only symptoms I'm still feeling are of course the nausea, and bigger bb's but they aren't sore anymore. I think I mentioned I've actually dropped a few pounds so the clothes are definitely still fitting and no pooch yet. I long for the pregnant belly though. I guess that will come farther down the road. I can't wait to buy maternity clothes even though the shopping choices around here aren't great.
Kb, I also craved dairy this weekend and had a huge bowl of ice cream. Good luck at your u/s and sounds like you'll be "graduating" too! I don't think my next appt with my OB is until after Christmas, so I'm a little disappointed and would love to get in sooner. I've had some cramping here and there, and would think your DW would even moreso since she is carrying more than one. Hopefully it's not too uncomfortable for her and is a good sign she's making room for them in their comfy home! Keep us posted after your visit tomorrow!
I have been reading everyone's post and glad to see that things are going good so far for the group.
I had my weekly u/s with my r/e this morning and things are going very good. He says that both babies are at the correct measurement for 9 weeks 3 days and both heartbeats are going good and health. He will not give the actual heartbeat rate. He doesn't do that.
I did have a slight concern the other day that when I went to the bathroom, #1, when I wiped (I know TMI!!!) there was a little bit of blood. But after that nothing. Nothing for the rest of the day or up to now.
When he checked, he said there was no bleeding inside or anything he could see. He said that with two in there and them starting to move around this may happen from time to time. He told me not to worry.
