I just wanted to pop on and say good luck to kas101 for transfer today - I will be thinking and praying for you as I have mine done. As for the shots the nurse told me that if you put an ice pack on the area 10 - 15 minutes before you do it you wont feel it, and it really works. I dont feel the shot at all. I kind of hear the needle going in but that is it. Then my husband massages the area for 10 minutes and I am good to go. I have been doing the shots since last friday and today is the first day that I feel sore. I hope this help. Good Luck today and tons of baby dust is being sent your way.

I forgot about my progesterone shot last night and ended up taking it an hour late! With the little guy already having a slow hr, I am in a slight panic that I just ended everything. Anyone know if this is a major problem or not? I usually take my shots between 7:30 and 8:30 pm but I took mine at 9:45 last night I have no problem calling my Dr but they dont open until 8:30... thanks for the help

JDC~ CONGRATS !!! I am so very very happy for you! You give me hope as we have been along the same paths ...Take good care of yourself, I read you're feeling pretty sick. I have my fingers crossed that the US shows a beautiful healthy baby, that's the most important part!
Big Hugs to you...you put a huge smile on my face today!

waiting for 4 - stop panicking. You are fine. The progesterone shots are not the stims shots that have to be taken at a specific time. It is no big deal that you were 1 hr later.
Kas and Forever - Wishing you both the best of luck at ET. Sending Sticky Vibes.
JDC - Hope you get to feeling better.
pixelgirl - You don't know for sure that it didn't work. I know after getting a million negative HPT's that we feel we will never get a positive. There are tons of women that have been TTC for years and finally get their BFP. There is no reason why you can't be one of those ladies.
JennJenn - Praying you don't get canceled. I have seen ladies that have had a high E2 level. They went and triggered and did ER. Then they froze the embies and they did FET's later on. Ask your RE if this is possible. It might mean that you will have to wait a couple more months but the risk of OHSS is lower. Good Luck.
I go in for the consultation for the new RE on Thursday. Finally got my other RE to fax my records. They sent 26 pages, YIKES. Hope they sent all the information that was needed. I am hopeful for this new RE but also reluctant because he is farther away and I will have to go through tons of hoops to have my insurance pay me back. O'well it will be worth it if I can ever make it back in a cycle an actually make it to ER again.

Chris good luck with your consultation - hopefully they can make some changes and do things a little different than your last RE.

gina1234 I am still waiting to even start BCPs. They saw a cyst on the ultrasound the 1st day of my cycle and they wanted to wait until my next one to see if it has gone down or disappear. Since my last IVF cycles have been 45 days long which put me at around Christmas time for my next one. Then i will start BCPs for 2-3 weeks. I am guessing everything will take place middle of Jan to the last week. My medication is supposed to get here on Friday and my copays total $125 last cycle i paid over 3,000 dollars. I love having insurance that covers IVF. =]
Well hope everyone is doing ok. Congrats on the new BFPs and to everyone else who got a BFN please keep your heads up high. Life works in very weird ways. I had a dream last night i took a HPT and it was positive. I couldn't believe it and took 4 more. Sucks to know everything was just a dream.

LadyJ, it sounds like you're already getting prepared for your next cycle the first of the year. Your insurance is wonderful! I cursed my insurance for 3 years. That's great you get to try as much as you like, although hopefully you'll just need one more. As for doing anything special, I laid on the couch the day of the transfer but then went back to work. I went to have acupuncture several times leading up to the ER and ET and continued to see her afterwards. I don't know if this helped but found it relaxing and thought it couldn't hurt. I really do wish you the best.
Kas, hope your ET went well. I guess I was fortunate to skip the PIO shots, although the suppos aren't much fun either. How are you feeling?
Gina, as I mentioned, can't wait to hear your u/s results Friday.
Jennjenn, I'm sure you are anxious to get to ER. I will say a prayer that your levels have lowered tomorrow.
Waitingfor4, hope you're having a better day today. Try to hang in there and stay positive. The waiting is so hard but the reassurance is worth it.
Pixelgirl, as so many have mentioned, you can be PG and not have a single symptom. I honestly never thought it would happen for me, lived in denial for several years. I'm a true believe in miracles now. Since you will know in 3 more days, will you POAS or wait?
Havbaby, good to hear from you and glad to know you're gearing up for the holidays. I'll be lurking on the future boards to keep updated on some of you. Best wishes.
JDC, sorry you're feeling so lousy. I know what you mean about taking extra meds, it's a little scary. Until last night I hadn't taken anything but Tylenol and Tums. But I tried the Zofran and it worked like a champ! I ate a huge bowl of spaghetti and meatballs and felt no nausea. I hope I didn't just jinx myself. Anyway, feel better soon.
Chris, congrats on getting set up with the new RE. I hope you like him and maybe he will take a different approach with your next cycle. A new perspective may be what it takes! I'll be anxious to hear how it goes.
several of you have asked whether i'm going to take a HPT before my Beta thursday and the answer is no. it is killing me though but i still want to wait and here is why. for many of you on this thread, a no - though horribly disappointing and awful means that you will still go on and do it again with another cycle. DH and I are done after this. This is our first and only IVF cycle and we're getting our closure – either getting pregnant or living child-free. if we are pregnant and miscarry, that is it for us still. we're done. since this is so incredidly FINAL, FINAL, FINAL for us, i really just want that closure to come from the doctor and not me trying to intrepret how faint or dark the lines are on the stick and what that might or might not mean. i mean i do know that by now, it's already done - i'm either pregnant or not and a POAS (HPT) test would tell me one way or the other but again i still want the final end closure to come from the best, most sensitive test i can get.
also, i've never been pregnant (or not that i've ever known at least) and i wouldn't want to get a positive at home and then go in and have it just be a chemical pregnancy. if i'm get pregnant and it doesn't last till the beta, i'd rather not know about it you know. i'd rather just always think that i never got pregnant. that's obviously a personal choice aimed at protecting myself but again denial isn't always a bad thing.
so those are my reasons for holding out.
thanks for all the positive feedback and you all are right - i can be very much pregnant and have no or few symptoms and our doc did say that with the quality of our two 3-day old embryos our chances could be as high as 40 percent and somebody has to make up that 40 percent, right? i'm trying to stay positive but also preparing myself that my final, final, FINAL closure is just around the corner.

CLOSURE!
No energy for personals tonight as i didnt sleep harly at all last night (part severe reflux from those evil doxycyclines and part nerves about ET) so i am so tired i'm going to bed for a few hours.
ET went well, 4 embies transferred all grade 1. There was 1 grade 1 and a grade 2 left over to freeze and one more questionable. The other had arrested. So to cut a long story short we froze the 3 not so good and transferred the best.
So i'm excited to be pupo once more but also worried as i've transferred 'perfect' embies before and got a BFN. It seems to go downhill when they get inside me
Please pray that at least one of my little embies will hold on tight this time
Praying for all.
Congrats to kke and JDC on BFP !!!!
Lady _J , so sorry to hear the BFN, hope a BFP for your next cycle.
karen - see you are doing good.
gina - wish you all the best with u/s
jenjenn - praying for you
pixel girl - good luck with your beta
About me, my FET went well on 12/4. I had 2 blastocysts thawed, graded B.
My RE predicted a 50% chance. I was fully at rest till 12/07. Only got up for food and bath room.
My DH also took couple of days off. I'm praying all the time for a BFP. Today I'm back to work and i have no time to think about it !!!
The day of FET I had a b/w.My estrogen and progesterone level was too low. 110 and 7.7. RE increased estradiol to 4 times a day.
My next b/w is on 12/10. and first beta on 12/18.
detroit2007,
I wish you the best. I have heard the chance of FET is higher so hopfuly this time is your time. Try to realx and not think about it very much.
take care of yourself and talk to your little ones and ask them to stick.

kas - that's awesome! i'd think with four grade A's in you, it's bound to work... And even more in reserves (extra bonus!). I will be keeping you in my prayers. now just relax, you've done all you can.
detroit - congrats on the FET. Sounds like your chances are good! I pray that both embryos find a nice comfy spot to stick and get comfy for the long haul! prayers and blessings to you!

congrats detroit and kas- stick embies! and i will pray for you both
chris- i'm so glad you're proceeding with another RE. you are such a good advocate for yourself (although you shouldn't have to be!). i know you'll do everything in your power to make your baby come.
jdc- i'm so sorry you're sick! must be scary. waiting for 4- please don't worry about the progesterone shot. taking progesterone supplements is more of a precaution than anything. there's lot of current scientific research saying we don't need it, but RE's tend to do things 'old school' and keep us on it.
so i'm not sure why this pissed me off so much- but it did! maybe it's cause it's a theme with my MIL.. her and i email back and forth sometimes, i told her i'd been quite sick after their visit this weekend, nauseaous, constant urge to hurl. she wrote me back to make a point of saying 'that's not morning sickness you must have caught a bug'.. I JUST WANT TO TELL HER TO F OFF! why does this bug me so much?! do i really care what she thinks? NO. she loves to play dr. and psychiatrist, and is often 'diagnosing' people as 'clinically depressed' or 'bipolar'. it's just f-ing annoying. i feel like saying something mean to her..but i haven't yet. (YET).
anyways...that's my rant for now. love to all, karen
