hi girls, okay here are my experiences from my first pregnancy which produced a boy:
i was a little nauseated, but not too much, and it went away after i ate something. now i am constantly nauseated and i often feel worse after i eat.
my husband gained a lot of weight, not as much as me, but WE were definitely pregnant.
i gained all of my weight in the front, not sure about this, this time. and my belly never really dropped. i believe some people say that if it drops its going to be either a boy or a girl. not sure ....
are there any other old wives tales?
i also wanted to let you know that i tried out my fetal heart monitor last night ... AND ... it worked. i was so excited to hear my baby's heartbeat. it did take two tries. at first we couldn't find it, then i brought my son to bed tried it out again and it took me a minute or so to find it. yeah, ....
i'll probably try it out again tonight.
beachbaby: congratulations on your twin boys. i did not even know about it. i am so happy for you. i am glad you said hello.
in general, i had a really good pregnancy. i had a lot of energy, no heart burn or any other pains. no high blood pressure or diabetis. only towards the end i sometimes had sharp pains down my legs, but that's perhaps because my baby was 10 lbs.
i am happy to share my experiences with anyone who would like to hear more.

Ajdec- That is too funny. I too goggled the "old wives tales" and I told my husband about the weight gain and he said well I guess you have been pregnant for a while because I have been gaining weight for a while !
Pumma- Thanks for sharing. Wow... what a difference from your last pregnancy. I will be so exicted to see what we are all having and I love that we are going through this togehter!
Liz35- Yes, I have been very tired lately. I am happy it is the holiday season as there is not much going on with work and I can kind of relax. This evening I slept for 4 hours because I am not sleeping too much at night. I feel like I can't get comfortable and I toss and turn all night!
Those old wives tales are hilarious. Just what we all need. Well my husband has not gained weight but my mom said that if you have complications (like the bleed that i had) and if the baby is still going strong then u are having a girl as girls are tougher than boys and tend to survive alot of complications. Of course i think this is another old wives tale but i would love to have a girl.
I go in for my 12.5 week scan tomorrow with the nuchal tests. Hope everything goes well. Can't wait to hear the heartbeat again.

babiesgalore: good luck tomorrow on your test; mine will be next monday. it's such a great feeling to hear the heartbeat and see the baby. let us know how the test went; i can't wait to hear the good news.
i am actually going to leave the country for 4 weeks over christmas and new years. my whole family is going to germany and we'll be leaving next thursday. so i probably won't be around at the forum very much, but i'll be constantly thinking about all of you.
It sounds like you guys are going to have a great holiday season. I think i am just going to be at home for this season but I am taking additonal time off between Christmas & New Years.
BabiesGalore- I found some very nice comfortable clothes at Motherhood last weekend and they are having great sales prices right now. I was very unsure of my size but they were great. I was able to get several business causual clothes and a sweat suit for a nice price. Also, I was told that Macy's has a section with clothes from Motherhood with different styles on sale right now also.
Good luck to the both of you on your u/s. I have my first one scheduled with my OBGYN on 12/23. So I have a little while to go.
Hey everyone. Just got back from my test and scan. The baby looked great and was moving around alot. The heartbeat was also really strong. However my nuchal test came back a bit above normal so i decided to go in for further test. Am going to get the CVS test done on Monday. If i don't i will just worry to death about it. Has anyone heard of others going thru this. Am really worried about the miscarriage posibilities and the results. But i know that i have to do it. Will keep u posted. Pray for me.

I do have a co-worker who just had the amino test done and she said that it was not all that bad. She just wanted to know if her baby would be born healthy as she is almost forty and she too received an abnormal test. She already has two sets of twins (natural) and this was a big surprise to her and her husband. As a matter of fact, she already has her tubes tied. I told her, this baby was meant to be born !
I am sure that your test will turn out fine also. Please just have faith...
babiesgalore: i keep my fingers crossed for you today. my amnio 5 years ago was really fast and not painful at all; i had no problems afterwards and everything was fine. i am sure your cvs will also come back perfect.
my nuchal test is today, after reading your post i am a little concerned now also, but hope so much that everything will be just fine. keep your fingers crossed for me.
This is a question to everyone who was on progesterone vaginal suppositories. When you were instructed to stop your meds, did you titrate down or stop all togehter and did you get some ovary soreness or overall pelvic soreness? Today is the day my RE instructed me to stop my progesterone replacement and I am having some ovary soreness and some pelvic pressure. I feel like a little kid that needs my security blanket. I have held onto those pills like a security blanket but now it is time to let go and I am very scared. I have read on other boards that some women had a little spotting. Well, so far I don't have any spotting but since I have been at home, I definitely feel full and a little sore.
Please provide any feedback that you can. Even if you were on the shots or any other hormone replacement.
Angela - I was on the suppositories and just recently was taken off. For one week I took my full dose (1 pill three times a day) but changed to every other day, rather than every day. Then the next week they took me down to one pill, once a day, every other day. Then they told me to stop. I haven't had any spotting but now that you mention it, I did have a little soreness over one ovary the first week I was weaning off. Never occurred to me that it might be because I was not taking as many pills. But it wasn't that bad and it quit pretty quickly.
I was definitely worried about going off of them, but the weaning off helped and frankly, now that I'm done, it's so nice to not have to do them anymore...they tended to be so messy! I've been off them now a week and have been fine.
Just wanted to update everyone on my test. It was a horrible experience. The doctor decided to go in cervically as the tissue was below and could not be easily accessed abdominally. So he tries the first time and removes some tissue and finds out that he only got my tissue and not the fetal tissue. he goes back in a second time and after lots of probing and pain he decides that he could not get to the tissue as my cervix was tilted and the catheter could not reach it. It was really horrible. On top of it i still have to rest as i am having bleeding now because of all the probing. I now have to wait for another 3 weeks and then go in for an amnio. I am so bummed. I prepared myself for this and it did not happen. Just praying that everything turns out fine.
Pumma, good luck today. am sure u will get great results.

BabiesGalore -- So sorry your test was so bad! Definitely take it easy and rest up. I think your experience makes me glad that I opted to not have any tests like that... Keep us posted on how you are feeling!
BabiesGalore- I am so sorry to hear about your test. That is horrible. I am sure everything is fine. Can you possibly get another physician to do your test? It sounds like this doctor may need some more practice...
Ajdec- Thanks for the reply. I ended up calling my OB doc this morning just to make sure. The RN told me that he prefers that his patients be weaned off of the progesterone completely by week 12 just as my RE said. I still have the pressure at times and I feel like I am going to start my menses. But, I still do not have any spotting or bleedng. They told me to call them or go straight to the maternity ER (a special ER just for pregnant women) if I have significant bleeding.
Hi all! Just checking in to see how you are feeling. The holidays are so busy, I just am not online that much right now!
I have actually started feeling more queasy the past few days than before! Crazy given this is week 13 for me. Thought it was supposed to be going away...not just starting! I'm dealing though...it hasn't been too bad.
Happy holidays to you all! Wishing you lots of joy!
