you are right where I have last 36 weeks I can last few more weeks to keep these babies in - which WILL help their lungs develop more and be healthier..

As far as rib pain yes it has been worse for me too but now I have another pain pubic bone separating and that's causing god awful pain down there!!! I can hardly walk without hurting ALOT!

on top of it my one feet is swollen then the other for whatever reason not sure why? my BP is normal never had any issues with that - UGH..

OK enough about me - how are you girls doing??

Hello again

Great to hear you're still cooking Sameera. Shame about the rib pain and pelvis pain, but you're on the home straight now, so at least there will be an end to it soon (but not too soon hopefully!) Do you have any physio support for your pelvis? I have a compression belt for mine, which I think helps a bit.

I've been getting so tired standing up for a long time and my pelvis is hurting a lot too, so when I went shopping today to a big warehouse furniture store, I asked if I could use their motorised wheelchairs! It was wonderful scooting around - it's so huge in there, it's tiring enough when you're not pg, though I did feel a bit odd when someone with a walking stick hobbled past. Still there were other chairs available, so I didn't feel too bad!

Denise - I haven't got a birth plan yet, but I'm thinking about it a lot. I've started to plan it in my head anyway - the antenatal classes helped to know the options and the pros/cons of each. How awful that it's so wintry - we're only meant to turn up at hospital when the contractions are 5 minutes apart, so I'm lucky my hopsital is only 10 mins away eg 2 contractions whilst in the car (eek) but if you live 40 mins away, I'd be freaking out. When can you go to hospital? Actually, I think I'd prefer to be at home as long as possible, so I'm relieved I live so close. We had snow the other day here, but it was gone by lunchtime.

I'm 34 weeks tomorrow, which is very exciting - still want a few more weeks in the oven - my baby's only about 15th percentile size for this stage, so it needs to grow a bit more. At least it should be easier to push out, as I'm so small, I don't really want a whopper.

Baby seems to still be pointing head down, which I'm pleased about. Hopefully it won't decide to flip now. It's more uncomfortable in the ribs now, as it's right up there, but luckily my 'normal' rib pain is slightly easier. I'm sleeping on and off, mostly propped up on 6 pillows. If I lie down on my side, I get terrible acid reflux. There's a very funny Japanese game show on at 4am on one of the obscure channels! DH says I've started to snore like a trooper! I've never been a snorer before!

Finished work in London yesterday - hooraaaaayyyy! I'm working at home till the middle of next week and then that's it. Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!

More workmen in next week and the following, finishing our kitchen, roof etc. I can't wait till they're all gone and the house it done and we don't have to worry about things any more. Are your renos finished, Denise?

Anyway, I'm off to join DH who'll be working away for the next 3 days.

Keep well

Twins have arrived!!!!

Post by sameera »

Hey Girls -

I'm so sorry I haven't been able to post/update you guys!!! I have been super busy with everything - I cannot believe they both are here and I'm so excited and overwhelmed at the same time!!

They are so precious and beautiful

Okay - I went in labor on Dec 6th and I was 2-3 cm dilated and they admitted me. My OB decided to induce me with pitocin which was a very slow drip and changed my cervix to 4cm.

My OB then convinced me to get epidural just cause she wasn't sure if they will end up doing c-section cause of the way he was positioned and if I was going to do natural then it would have hurt me really bad. So, I caved in for the kids and decided to get epidural.

She broke my water around 5:30pm and by 6:30 the girl was on her way to come out - my OB didn't even get a chance to put on her gloves and my lil girl just came out in 3 pushes LOL

14 mins later my lil boy arrived and he had cord wrapped around his neck tight twice and I was so scared but I knew my OB is good at what she does and she took care of him.

Wow, Sameera! Good for you, great weights and sizes, and no NICU time! Fantastic job, mommy. Bet it feels nice to breath again!

Makes it seem real for us too, doesn't it Tin? We're not that far behind. I'm not sure what timing I'm supposed to have to arrive at the hospital, to tell you the truth. Last time was twins for me, and I was admitted several days prior to an induction. So who knows? I"m sure they won't send me too far if there's some serious snowfall going on.

Renos are slowly getting there. I'm getting the house in order this week, as we're having a small open house for my brother's wedding next weekend. I've actually hired a housekeeper to come in and officially clean my floors/bathroom, as its getting harder to get under things, kwim?

Picked up my first pack of diapers for the new baby, kind of wish the other two were a little closer to being done... but oh well, can't be too much longer.

Hope this all finds you well, and getting ready for Christmas! Do let us know how you make out, Sameera, now that your little bundles are here.

CONGRATULATIONS SAMEERA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yipeeeeeeeeeeee! I was so happy to read about your successful vaginal delivery of your little ones. What a blessing. I hope being home with them is going well and you're getting some sleep and lots of cuddle time.

Everyone else sounds like you all feel about the same way that I do. Tired....and ready to have a baby soon.

I haven't posted anything for a while....sorry, no good excuse. So here's a snippet of whats going on here:

I had maternity portraits done at 33 weeks which was so important to me to get them done before I started swelling up in the hands and face like michellin woman. The photographer screwed up and lost our photos so now I am re-taking the photos today at 37 weeks with plenty of ugly facial, hand and feet swelling...yuk.

I have terrible itchy skin that doesn't seem to have any real cause. The doctor ruled out cholestasis (which can be fatal for the baby) so I basically just have to endure tearing my skin apart to relieve the itching.

I've had a few ultrasounds because of concerns about the baby's size. He measured 3 weeks ahead and was in the 98th percentile at the last check which was 33 weeks. My doc said we can measure him again at 38 weeks and decide on wether or not to shoot for a vaginal delivery or schedule a c-section.

I have contractions every evening from around 7pm til I fall asleep. They're quite painful and very tight but nothing like how I remember true labor pains. Does anyone else get these? It feels like a tease every night, cause they even get closer and closer.....then eventually fade back away.

I made a belly cast last weekend.....well, my DH had to do it, its hard to do alone. It is really cool. I'm just going to keep it as a keepsake, not hang it on the wall or anything. Anyone else do this?

Enough about me.......how is everyone else feeling? Anyone's cervix changing? (Mines just a fingertip open.....geez) Anyone else have these false labor pains on a regular basis? Anyone actually not in a hurry to give birth? I know some women enjoy every moment and don't want to think about the baby not being inside them a any more.....I wish I was a little more like that.

Hi all

Just thought I'd say hello as I am due on Sunday but I am the last person on the December 08 list and everyone else is busy now with their babies of course - so I'm a bit out on a limb. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that something happens soon. SO don't want to be in hospital over Christmas as I have a two and half yr old and I want to see him open his stocking.

I hope everyone is thriving - not long now. Love Vicky

Hi Vicki,

I am due on Feb 2, 09 but I am afraid that my baby will come sooner than that, so I am a usual visitor here too.

It is also our second pg, my DD is 22 month old and she is learning everything and needs a lot of attention too!

Looking forward to your birth story here soon!

CONGRATULATIONS SAMEERA!!!! :D That's so great - no c-section and babies home with no problems - you must be so pleased. Really happy for you. I bet it feels good now that you can reclaim your body and lie down in all sorts of positions! Good luck with all the feeding/sleeping etc

I can't believe one of us has given birth. You're right, Denise, it does make it seem really real now. I'm still not due for 4 more weeks, so I hope not too soon for me, but baby's started to drop and I'm 1/5 engaged (ouch - not very comfortable when it burrows its way down there), so at least baby's the right way round.

My ribs have been a lot recently, which is a relief. But my pelvis pain is not good. Last night I had to wake DH up as I got stuck and couldn't move in bed! He had to haul me up! LOL! It's so sore. I couldn't go back to sleep, so I got up at 4am and wrote all the Xmas cards, so at least it was productive. I'll be shattered later.

Denise, glad your renos are nearly finished. This could be the last week for ours, which is so exciting. Our kitchen floor went in last week and it looks great now. I don't blame you for getting a cleaner. I can't even do up my shoe laces!

Good to hear from you, Nikki. Shame about the itching. Hope it eases up. Is there anything you can put on it? Maybe ice would help? (Not great in winter) I'm getting BH contractions all the time. Sometimes they hurt like period pains and are always very tight, but they're OK. I can't believe your baby is so big! Mine's about 15th %ile, but they're only measuring using tape measure on tummy, so it's not that accurate, especially now the baby's started to drop. Hope it doesn't get any bigger! How do you know about your cervix? Are you having internal exams? I'm not, so have no idea. I am quite happy if the baby stays in for a few more weeks. I'm not ready yet! (Though not being able to sleep is getting tedious.)

Anyway, catch you all soon and good luck!

Hi Girls!

Post by Dri-Jim »

Sorry I haven't been here in the past two months. Adriana is almost ready to pop and it's just been so crazy.

Sameera, God Bless you and your babies. We are so happy for you and your family. Nikki, Denise and everyone else, I hope you girls are doing great too.

Anyway, Adriana is 37 weeks and 2 days as of tomorrow (Sunday). Sophia Louise (Sophie) is approximately 7lbs right now and 20 inches. Her due date has been moved up to January 2nd but they think she might have her early. All the fluid and non-stress tests have been great and she's a very active little girl.

Adriana's parents got here from Brazil on December 8th and are going to be here to help for four months. Since they are the coolest in-laws I'm fine with it!

This has been quite the year and I feel like the luckiest guy in the world. I appreciate all of you and you made this IVF journey a great one.

Hi all!

Well, my little boy Matthew was born on December 19th!

We made the decision 3 days prior to this to have an elective c-section because we did s growth scan that showed his size was "off the charts" and they anticipated he was about 8 and a half pounds already at almost 38 weeks. So we set the date of the c-section for 38 weeks gestation. She gave me the option of an indiction but siad since his head was floating high and my cervix wasn't changing she would suggest a c-section to avoid a possible failed induction or shoulder dystocia.

Anyway......the c-section went well. He weighed 8 lbs 9.7 ounces and was 20 inches long (but at peds office they said he was 21 inches). I don't regret having the c-section but I have to say the recovery is so much harder than my vaginal delivery......plenty of pain.

I wish I knew a way to make some photos available. I do have plenty posted on my facebook profile. I'm not sure how easy it is to find me on there but feel free to look.....lots of photos!

I hope you all had a great Christmas and are hanging in the for the last few days of your pregnancy. I'll be checking in to see how you all do....good luck everyone!
