Thanks so much for your "words of wisdom"! I am still battling this cold/virus, so I think I will take the opportunity today to get some much needed rest after transfer.

My ET went very smoothly yesterday. My embie was a 4 cell embie and the embryologist said it looked like it was getting ready to start dividing again before transfer. She said it was graded between a 2 and 3 (on a scale of 1 - 4) with some fragmentation. She did say that the grade will sometimes improve as the embie advances along and that I should not be concerned. I just need for DH to get my pineapple at the grocery store today.
Take care all,
Tammy

I have a question for you? When does implantation occur for a 3 day transfer? Sorry for so many questions, but you seem to be up on everything related to IVF's. I've never had a 3 day transfer before.
Thanks,
Tammy

According to American Pregnancy Association (http://www.americanpregnancy.org/gettin ... ation.html), implantation takes place 6~12 days after ovulation, which is a large window. One of the reasons some REs believe transfer 5 day blastocysts implant better than 3 day embryos is because 3 day embryos in theory still stay in fallopian tubes, yet 5 day blastocysts are in uterus and then embryo implantation process begins about 3 days later (http://www.advancedfertility.com/blastocy.htm). My REs like to transfer 3 day embryos because they believe uterus is better growth environment than tissue culture medium which is still not at optimal for fertilized eggs or embryos to grow!
So back to you question, I think you can start eating pineapple 2~3 days after transfer. However, there is no harm to eat earlier than that, as if you are taking baby aspirin to thin your blood for better circulation and help implantation process.
At this point, luck is all you need, the rest is what you do for feeling better, no one knows for sure what will work or not work. Good luck!!!!!
I am so hoping you are one of the lucky ones who transfer one embryo and get BFP.
Everyone else, have a nice weekend!

My RE's office has scheduled my beta pregnancy test on 12/22 (10 days post transfer). That seems a little early doesn't it? I just found another site that said implantation takes place 2-3 days after a 3 day ET and the same day or 1 day later for a 5 day ET.

Blood test is more sensitive, I think they just don't want to work close to Christmas eve. 10 days after transfer should be enough to pick up positive signals. I could do it with HPT 6~7 days. No, I did not take baby aspirin. I don't think you need either since you did not have any sign of blood clotting issue.
Looking forward to your good news!

Yasmina: I really appreciate all of your support!! I'm trying to remain positive. I believe that my beanie should be implanting sometime tomorrow, hopefully. That would be three days after ET. If I tried an EPT at 7DPT, it would be this coming Friday. I'm not sure if I will do it or wait until next Monday. I just have 1 week from tomorrow to wait.

Tammy-thinking of you and your little beanie. Keeping the PMA flowing along with the babydust.
Yasmina-how are you doing? w/r/t weight gain, I didn't watch the scales while pg. I knew it would only upset me. My Ob never said much except about two or three weeks before DD birth and only that was to comment on that being the greates rate during the pregnancy. When all was said and done, I don't have the exact figure but I gained well over 40lbs and maybe 50 lbs. However, at the 2 week check up post c-section, I weighed in considerably less than that, in a reachable limit to my start weight once I'm able to add exercise to my routine.
Hi Rhonda and Tracy how are ya'll.
Well, DD maybe trying to get her days and nights straightened out. Last night she went to sleep at 10p after a couple of fussy hours and she is still asleep at 4:20a. I will go wake her for a feeding in a second. It's hard to believe though and I hope this continues. My DH got a full nights sleep. The lack of sleep has been waring on him. He's been a real help, trying to give me a break especially on the weekends. But without his 8-12hr beauty sleep, it shows. He is less alert, more grumpy and frustrates easily. I find myself pulling DD from him to avoid her exposure. So, hopefully she'll be sleeping through the night soon so DH returns to some sort of normalcy.
You DH is so attentive! Mine was not like that. The funny thing is when people asked him how was our little girl doing, he said, oh, very well, she slept though the night - that was 2~3 weeks after the birth, he had no idea that I got up few times during the night to feed her and we all slept in the same SMALL bedroom! After a while, he finally learned how to hear his DD in the night and then he started to try to take care of her in the night, but she sent him to hell and asked for me instead. Now, however, DD only wants her daddy, no matter what. She acts like she does not have a mommy! Speaking of bonding...
If you got 6h straight at this age, it's a blessing, enjoy! Our little girl started to have long hour sleep during the night between 7~8 weeks, then regressed after few weeks because my breasts were too full to wait that long to feed her, I woke her up at 4 am to feed her... She slept through the night since we started to feed her with 2oz formula before bedtime, at about 4 months. We also started to feed her solid food at that time.
I am doing fine except I cannot sleep in the night anymore, fortunately, I can shut my office door to take a nap during the day. My father and his wife will be here at Christmas day and will stay for few months to help out since my parents-in-laws cannot come anymore this time. You and your DH are my heros, taking care of your DD all by yourselves? I definitely cannot do any housework in the first few weeks.
Tammy,
If you can, don't do the HPT until 8 days after ET because anytime before that, you will need to squint the evil stick for long time under strong light! You also need a lot of imagination to see the second line...I saw many positives in the group of over 40 ladies at ivf thread, I hope you will be soon joining them!
Tracy,
How are you doing? Going anywhere skiing this year before you next cycle?
Rhonda,
Have you and DH gone for your post cycle consultation? How did it go?
Take care, everyone here!

I am so happy to meet you all and looking forward to sharing this experience with you all. We are paying for everything with a loan so there will be only one chance!
Here is what I consider the poor indicators;
Never been pregnant,
41 y/o
3xIUI bfn
underactive Thyroid, now on supplements
stats for my age group at my clinic are only 25%, yikes!!!
Here are the more positive indicators;
FSH 5,3
My Dr claims I am a good responder (considering my age)
I am doing assisted hatching
I am doing 1/2 icsi 1/2 regular fertilization
Day 5 transfer
I have long cycles (its more likely for a positive outcome at my age, check it out)
doing AP and perhaps some TCM
BMI is 26 (yeah, I know could be better but I just lost 10 pounds so it goes under positives:-)
So what do y'all think my chances are?
Any advise?
My dates are;
Dec 29 downregging
Jan 14 stimming
Jan 26 ER
Jan 31? ET
Has anyone tried to buy meds online?

B) Negative beta April 06/09
My first pregnancy was when I was 42. I had an easy pregnancy and delivered a heathy baby boy. We are currently in the 2ww for baby #2. I had a FET last Friday. We only had 1 out of 4 eggs survive the thaw, but luckily it fertilized and is hopefully snuggling in as we speak. I buy my fertility meds through an online pharmacy called Freedom Drugs. Their prices are much better and they deliver the meds to your doorstep.
Good luck on your upcoming cycle.
Regards,
Tammy

Welcome. I agree with you about all your analysis but would like to add one more thing to your list - practice Yoga, apparently it is better than medication in terms of correcting your thyroid problem. On the top of that, it will put your mind at easy during the stressful ivf process!
If you are a good responder, you will probably have plenty eggs induced by the drug that you will be taking and hopefully you will have some more to freeze after the first ivf. I understand you said that you would do only one cycle, but frozen cycle after a fresh one is easier and cheaper (5~6x cheaper), in my experience it gives good rate of pg.
My signature has my little history and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! Oh, I did buy my Meds online also, the website is: http://www.ivpcare.com/
My feeling about your coming cycle is very good. Have fun!
