I was quite relaxed about caffeine and allowed myself one cup a day plus the occassional caffeine soda drink
However, at 23 weeks my baby developed an irregular heart beat (which did resolve itself) and the perinataologost and my OB both told me to cut out caffeine altogether.
I have had any caffeine for weeks (except the little bit found in chocolate) and don't feel bad at all......I do love to smell my DH's coffee brewing in the morning though.

No need to argue on this website. We're all welcome to our opinions. I said earlier that caffeine in moderation is fine. My DH and I are both internists as well. Do what you feel is right, and be happy. We're all adults here, and just want healthy babies.
Funny, When I wrote this post initially I was thinking it was just a topic for convrsation that would allow us coffee drinkers a little time to vent :) I didnt think it would get heated!! I was just really craving some coffee when I wrote it..like any other pregnancy craving I guess
I finally broke down and did have a cup of joe............it wasnt as good as I remembered so it cured my craving .......I just had a 1/2 cup and I guess my taste buds changed being preggers cause I just didnt enjoy it enough to contiune through the cup!!!
I appreciate everyons comments...I found it interesting to listen to all the differant views on whether to drink it or not. I am of the opinion that a cup of coffee probably wont hurt anything after reading the responses. One cup is not a huge deal every now and then or every morning. I wouldnt touch it in the first tri though...just my opinion.
