Hi Lyly, welcome! It sounds like you are coming right along. So sorry for your past m/c's. That's got to be difficult. I'm not sure if I'll be considered high risk, but likely so since I'm 37. We started trying so many years ago but just didn't happen for us until this year. I believe there is someone on the Oct/Nov IVF thread that has the MTHFR defect. Are you going for regular u/s? I wasn't sure how often we'll go once the pregnancy is closer to the end of the first trimester. I think you mentioned your next one is on the 23rd. Good luck and keep us posted!

Doddo, congrats on a good u/s and strong h/r. Are you taking anything for the hyperthyroidism?

Kb, that's a great idea about seabands for your DW. The nausea is hard and the bands really seem to help. Good luck at your OB appt tomorrow! I can't wait to go to mine after the holidays. The waiting is so hard! I was taken off progesterone suppositories after my 9 week visit, which scares me a little because it sounds like a lot of ladies on here are still using it.

Elida, that's wonderful news about baby Angelina! I'm so happy to hear she hung in there. She's a fighter and definitely a strong little angel.

Jerseygal, good luck on Wednesday. I'm still feeling your pain with the nausea. I guess I won't need maternity clothes until I can start putting on a few pounds. Maybe I'll try some protein shakes and see how they taste.

Rinnie, hope everything goes well for you on Thursday. After your post, I ready BabyGalore's story. How terrible for her! That scares me, but I'm sure your doctor is highly capable and you won't have the same experience.

Hi Wonderace,
I am taking 450 MG of PTU's to keep my levels in range. It is a very high dose and I go to my thyroid dr again next week to see about getting my medication lowered.

Have any of you started to wear maternity clothes yet?
I ordered one outfit online but I am afraid to get alot of stuff for another 4 weeks.

Rinnie- I bought the bella bands too! I can still wear them with some of my pants but not all. Some of the pants are starting to cut into my belly even when they are open.

Doddo- I finally broke down and bought some maternity clothes over the weekend, but it was long overdue. My belly is quite obvious despite the fact that I am barely 12 weeks. I guess that is because this is my 5th pg and my muscles are a bit stretched out and weak.

Wonderce- I only had 2 u/s with my RE then my ob wanted to wait another 4 weeks for my next one. I snuck an extra one in by going too early for the nachal scan. The baby was too small so now I have to go back on the 23rd to do the test. For me I will have regular scans as I get further along since I have risk factors that affect the baby's growth and continued risk for m/c and still born. I was told that normally they only due about 2-3 u/s during a pregnancy. Early on to confirm a hb then at about 18-20 weeks and possibly one more later on, but who knows. Some docs do them more frequently even on routine patients. It is definitley reassuring to see the baby and its hb.

Hey gals! Sorry to crash your thread, but I have a quick question for you about symptoms since y'all are just a few weeks ahead of me.

Yesterday, I was completely wiped out. Got a few things done, but for the most part was on the couch the entire day. Today, I had more energy and was able to take the dog for a walk and spent most of the day out and about running errands. I am a little tired, but nothing like I was yesterday. Is it normal to have your symptoms fluctuate day to day? One day be zapped of energy and the next feeling a little stronger? The slight nausea is still with me, but I am not as hungry as I was yesterday.

I had acupuncture today and all is well, so I am not worried really. Just wondering if any of you have experienced different levels day to day.

Thanks so much for you insight!

Hi ladies - I'm also crashing your thread because I'm having a hard time right now and want to know if anyone here has experienced what I am. I had u/s today at 5w2days and RE could not see a clearly defined sac. We kind of saw "something, but not sure". My bloodwork is good, hcg over 1,600 and progesterone nice and high. I'm hoping I'm just a few days behind, but last time I had a mc and I'm full of dread and fear right now.

Doddo, no maternity clothes or bella bands for me yet. I'm sadly smaller than before I got pregnant thanks to loss of appetite with morning sickness. I'm hoping the 2nd trimester will bring back my appetite and a cute baby bump. I still worry about my little one getting enough nutrients but books and internet seems to say that vitamins and small meals at the beginning are okay since baby is still so small. I try to eat more but just can't stomach it.

Lyly, I agree, the more u/s the better. I'd go once a week if the insurance would pay for it!

Hi Cocosmomma, I definitely can relate to the symptoms more and less on some days. On certain days I feel so tired that I just want to collapse by the time I get home, and other days I seem to get a lot done and not as tired. I also noticed the sore/tender breasts are gone for now, and the nausea really gets me more on certain days than others. I think it's common to have some symptoms come and go.

JDC, I think I responded on our other board but I would keep positive since your nurse had good feedback on your b/w. I can't recall, was this your first u/s? I didn't have my first until 7 weeks so that extra time might make a difference. Maybe some other ladies have some insight.

Hello everyone!!

Just got to the office. I had my weekly u/s and everything is going great.
Both babies measured 10w4d. I am really lucky that my insurance covers the weekly u/s. My r/e doesn't want to see me for a regular visit next week because I am going on the 26th for the CVS test.
He reassured me that it will go ok and the Doctor doing it is one of the best in Philadelphia. So I am a little more relaxed about that.
Both babies were jumping all around today so it took him awhile to get the measurements done.
He is having me continue the progest. shot everyday until after the CVS. He feels that having the extra progest. helps to relax the uterus and make the CVS testing a little easier.
He told me that I continue with him for only two more weeks. :( I love him to death and he has been just wonderful. He wants me to call my regular OB and schedule an appt for one month from today.

JDC- welcome to the board. Relax, I am not an expert but seems your u/s was done very early. I don't know many that have them done before the 6 week point. And I remember reading and my r/e telling me that they don't normally do one before the Beta number is at least 2000 even if the numbers are doubling as they should be.
Please let us know how things go for you. You will be in my prayers.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Thanks Wonderce and Jerseygal for your responses. I don't have a choice but to wait and see what happens Friday. I was very upset earlier, but feel a little better now.

Jerseygal - just curious what clinic you go to? I'm at RMA Morristown. Last time I had my first u/s at 5w2d also.

JDC - my doctor, Gregory Fossum, is with Thomas Jefferson Univ Hospital in Philly. I am very lucky that my insurance covers everthing and I have my appointments only with him and it's like a private practice setting. He's great to work with and his nursing staff is just wonderful.

Hey cocosmomma...yess my symptoms were all over the place from day to day. The nausea is up & down and so is the tiredness. I think different things are happening each day so it makes sense.
The only thing that stays constant with me is my constant hunger. I am officially an eating machine!! I've only gained 5 lbs but enough to have me squeezing into my pants.

JDC the gals are right...it's still really early. I had my first at 5W6D and I was amazed they could tell it was a sac..I couldn't see anything. And the 4 day difference between your date and mine is huge...you'd be amazed at the changes in just a couple of days. Don't worry...the next one you'll see it all.

wonderce I'm sure you're getting all the vitamins from the pre-natal. Don't worry...you'll catch up :) I'm hope you feel better soon!
I'm not good today...some days are just blah...nothing helps the nausea.

jerseygal So happy everything looks good! How great to see them moving around. LUV those U/S! My ob does them every 3 weeks until 29 weeks, then every 2 weeks.
I'm glad your CVS doc is great! I'll let you know how it goes.

Wish me luck everybody...it's in the afternoon LA time, so I'll try and post tomorrow night....from my bed :)

Wonderce- I haven't gained anything except for about 1.5 lbs. I have also had lack of appetite and m/s. Despite that I have a very definitive baby bump. I have very mixed feelings about it though. I love that I can see my growing belly :D but I have been having a hard time trying to hide it at work. The people I work with are quite chatty and I was so nervous about having a m/c.

Anyone else having a really hard time cooking food? I haven't been able to handle raw meat since I have been pg. The very thought of the raw meat makes me want to throw up and the smell  ........... Well that is even worse. I am fine not to eat but I feel bad for my dd and dh. They have not had much of good food lately. I am hoping this will soon pass as I enter my 2nd trimester.

When is everyone stopping their progesterone? I am supposed to at 10 weeks (in a week from now) but I am scared to death due to the hematoma in my uterus that hasn't gone away!!!!

Update to my CVS testing.
We are going to be doing the Nuchal Translucency test first together with the blood tests that measures the markers of Down syndrome. We would be getting the results back in about an hour after the testing. If everything looks good there is really no reason to proceed with an invasive test.

Jerseygal, that's the same thing I'm having done on 12/30. I like the idea that those are less invasive. Plus it's an extra look at the little bean!

Doddo, I already stopped my progesterone at 9 weeks. I'm hoping it wasn't too early but my RE said no need to continue. Does the progesterone help with the hematoma?

Lyly, I'm glad to know I'm not alone but sorry you're dealing with m/s too. I think once I start showing I'll have to tell my boss and friends at work. I guess I'd planned to do that after our 12 week u/s anyway. A few co-workers/friends knew I've been trying for a long time now, so it's been hard to keep them from asking so many questions. They are just being good friends, but I haven't felt ready to share the news just yet.

Rinnie, thanks for the reassurance. I'm a worrier so can't help being anxious that little one gets enough nutrients. Now I don't feel so bad! Let us know how your CVS went today.

Hi everybody!
Can I join too?
Lyly and I use to be on the other forum that got overtaken by porn,so we moved here. It's nice to talk to all other women in the same boat .
I see you guys have a future daddy here(wow!I should tel my DH),few twin mommies and even a triplet!
We transfered 2 embryos,I started out with twins,on a second u/s they saw a 3d sac- baby B split into identical twins, like they thought. They transfered me to peri,it was a few very nervewreking weeks, baby A didn't make it,so now we are officialy having twins(possibly identical, but they are not sure because they have a separate sacs and placentas)
I wish everybody the safest and easiest pregnancies!
IVF#1-BFP,but lost our angel at 16 weeks
IVF#2-BFN
IVF#3-BFP,started w/tiplets,lost one at 7 weeks,lost a second at 15 weeks
Praying for a miracle baby to stay with us!
It's a girl!
