JAN/FEB/MAR 2009 Ladies!!!

Post by Lady_J »

This will be my 2nd Round of IVF. I did my BCPs in October and ER/ET in Nov... and on Friday, Dec. 5th... I got the dreaded call... it was a BFN for me. I am going to give it another shot already. I have been with my DH since I was 16 and we have been married now for 11 yrs. And out of this marriage we have 1 beautiful 10 yr old girl that we conceived naturally. and again we conceived in 2000 but turned to be a Tubal Eptopic wich ruptured. I almost lost my life that day because I had lost so much blood... but I made it. The only thing I lost was my 10 week old embryo and my left tube.... but my DH has been thru this with me ever since. I was planning to start a new round in Feb/Mar, but I spoke with RE today and she said I can start BCPs with my January AF and looking at ER/ET in February. I am excited all over again. I did start the FEB/MAR/APR forum but since I am starting in Jan now, I changed it to this forum.

It was hard to learn that the only thing I can do at this point was IVF... but we got started right away. And when they told me it was a BFN... I cried and cried and cried... and my DH cried but then tried to remain strong for me and got me to come around as well. Now I have hope for the next cycle... and I thank God that I have a DH like mine.

Hopefully others can join me and others with our stories, questions, funnies... our journeys thru this. And I wil also try to answer any questions to those that will be going thru this for their first time. Hope to hear from you soon.

TO_HAVE_FUN... come and join me on this forum instead. Sorry I had to change forum, but I am excited that I get to start sooner. This wait to start a new cycle was like the dreaded 2WW. But now I can be excited all over again.

Hope to hear from u ladies soon!!!.

Lady_J - I will follow you but you can just edit the subject line in your first post of the other board. It might get a little confusing for some.

So how are you today? Snowing here so it was another wonderful ride to work. YEAH!!! I love snow but hate to drive in it. Catch up with you later, I got to get some work done.

So glad you started a 09 thread!

I was feeling out of sync there since I start downregging on Dec 29/08 and there are not too many out there at the same time as me. I guess most clinics are closed, mine too and want to have you in before you start. I get to do a home LH surge monitoring because I insited!

This is my first time so I have nothing to compare to as well.

My first worry (also because me Dr. thought about this long and hard and then ended up consulting another Dr about downregging me) will the lupron will downregulate me too much so there will not be enough growth?

Uhg... the anxiety factor is kicking in....

To_HAVE_FUN... oops, I didnt know u could edit the forum. Well, maybe it could benifit those ladies that are starting in February. So it is snowing by you? Where do u live? I am here in Chicago.. it's not snowing cuz it's too cold too snow right now. It's only like 15 degrees here right now.

Sisi1... Welcome to the Board. So u start downregging on the 29th... that's ok.. it still means u will be doing ER/ET in February sometime. The lupron basically will keep u from ovulating. Lupron acts by suppressing the pituitary gland (which is normally responsible for triggering ovulation). SO if u will be downregging in Jan...then most likely they will start u on stim to promote growth of your follies in February. Just relax... they time will go by slower than normal... so for now, keep yourself busy. Before u know it, you will be laying on that table, retreiving your eggs. It's the 2ww that seems to be the longest wait... and babygirl... it's just a long wait. In the meantime, good luck with your cycle and once again welcome.

So has everyone done their X-mas shopping yet? I haven't even started yet. ANd right now I am going mad.. my DH seemed to have lost "misplaced" his wallet, and it had almost $300 in it. I looked everywhere for it... I cant find it. I beleive he dropped it a few days back when he went to buy wipers for the car, cuz that is the last time he had it. aaarrrr.. he is so lucky I love him too much. SO now, we have to pretend we never had that money to begin with. Hopefully he did misplace it, and it will show up when we least expect it.

i just have to hold on to the fact that i did in fact get pregnant and i know in my heart it will happen again.

thanks for letting me rant a little. i sure hope this is the most successful room yet! :D

Waiting for 4.... I saw and I am so so sorry for your loss. You rant away. That is what we are here for. I hope you and DH remain strong thru this ordeal. I remember when I ended up having the Ruptured Tubal... when we were at the hospital and they did the US confirming that it was a Tubal. The Dr. told us they had to remove the tube and terminate the PG. My DH cried and said no, can't you just put the baby in the uterus. God, if only life was that simple. It broke my heart to hear him say that. What I am trying to say is that only God knows why he does what he does. You shouldn't question him, just know that for whatever reason he did what he did.. it may have been for the better.

I am just glad that there are Mad Scientist out there thinking of us Infertile Women.. and that there is still hope. And I am glad that u have decided to join us in this room... and successful it will be. I have spray this room with lots of Baby Dust and Baby Powder and in my heart I know this will be our time to have beautiful healthy babies.

I hope u will feel better soon and can start your next cycle right away.

Lady_J - I live in Wood River, Il. It is right outside of St. Louis. So we did get some snow but it didn't last too long. My sis lives in Peoria and she said it has been snowing there all day. It is about 20 degrees here. We are supposed to be getting freezing rain pretty soon so it will be a fun ride home.

Waiting for 4 - I know the m/c is not an easy thing to go through. Glad to see that you are already looking at the future. yes, it is a plus that at least you know you can get PG. That can help with your PMA in your next cycle.

Sis1 - Lupron is not my friend. Right now I think it is the devil. Hehe  I have taken Lupron for my 3 canceled cycles. The first time I was oversuppressed and I had poor response. The other 2 cycles they changed my dosage and I was stimulating with the Lupron. Don't worry those, lots of ladies use Lupron and have no issues. So you start Lupon at the end of the month? What does the rest of your protocol look like?

To_Have_fun... Cool, so we stay in the same state of IL, with our Good Ole G. Rod. :P Yeah, it is coming down right now over here. I am at work and I work Downtown and it is a mess down here. I have to take the train south and drive from the train to my home about 10 miles out. It is going to be a crazy drive home. Just be safe on your way home as well. Well, I am happy... my DH found his wallet. He found it on top of the refridgerator collecting dust..already. :P He is good at "misplacing" things that easily. The last few days I was looking, I would actually try to peak over the fridge... I found I was too short. ANd yesterday, I grabbed a chair and looked in all the kitchen cabinets from top to bottom and even told myself I was going to look on top of the fridge but I forgot.... and wala... there it was all this time with money and all. I am a little more relaxed.

Hi Ladies!

Post by JennLB25 »

Can I join?

I start my first IVF in January.

Actually, I go in on the 5th for bloodwork, sonogram and mock transfer and I should start Lupron that night.

I just got my box of meds the other night. When I get time, I plan on listing them and seeing if any of you ladies know what they are all for.

I pray we all get BFP's in our IVF cycles!!

Baby dust to all!!!!

Of course u can join JennLB25... welcome to the wonderful world of IVF. It is an emotional time and hope we can all support each other. Go ahead and send the list of your meds. Good luck with your testing on the 5th. Hope it all goes well. Keep us update on your progress.

Here is list on my meds in the first cycle. I responded well with these so they may keep me on these for my 2nd cycle... and don't worry yours may not be the same as mine. All REs use differnt blends of meds. And also, dont let the needles scare you. They are not that bad at all. Also, start finding out if your clinic offers any Injection Training.. it helped me alot.

BCPs (to downregg your menstruation)
Lupron (to keep you from ovulating)
Follistim (to stim your follicles and hopefully produce alot of llittle eggs for you)
HCG (trigger shot.. 36hrs before ET)
PIO (provides progesterone hormones after transfer. These are the big needles for the butt)
Vivelle Dot patches (provides the estrogen hormone also after transfer)

If you get a BFP you continue the PIO shots and Estrogen)
If you get a BFN  then you stop all meds completely .. and prepare for a new cycle.

Are you taking any Vitamins or preparing in any other way in the meantime?

Welcome again and good luck.

Hi Sisi1... so u r going straight to ER/ET. How exciting... As for the Lupron... they can and will adjust it if necessary. I had started at 225u to 175u to 150u. Is there areason why u r worried of the Lupron.. or is it the needle that worries u?
