Scan News

Post by Helen Reid »

Hi

I feel a bit bad writing this after reading Dagny's news i still cannot believe that life can be so cruel.
I went for what should of been my 12 wk scan today (i am 17wks) and all is well. It was the same woman who did my scan last month and she remembered us which was nice. He/she is growing really well and the head is the size of a cherry tomato. He/she was kicking and waving but he/she was moving that much it was hard to see anything else.
My midwife was there today so it saved me a journey to my clinic this afternoon. We decided to have the blood test to see if there was a risk of spina bifida or down's syndrome. If all is well i will get a letter if not she asked if i wanted her to phone or come to see me i chose 'to see me'.
We have booked a holiday and i will be 26wks just under what my airline limits are (28wks) and the insurance goes up to 30 wks feel a bit happier about it i would rather go later than sooner at least i will be feeling the baby move by then.

Thankyou for your thoughts in my other thread.

Got another scan in about 3wks.

What a relief re your scan - mine thursday - yikes. I am so glad it all went well - you must be too.
I know it is sad about Dagny but I am sure she would want us to all enjoy our pg too ( I know I did when I lost Oliver) and she did say we should not take anything for granted.
Keep us posted - hope the blood tests come back with nothing to worry about
Love
