Been a tough 2 weeks!

Post by krisnerol »

Ladies,

I have been laying low the last two weeks thinking everything's fine one minute and not the next. Tomorrow is u/s #2. I'm actually feeling pretty good about going, though I'm sure I'll still be nervous in the a.m. I'm praying that the two little ones will have strong heartbeats and will measure well. I also pray that the tech. will not say anything unnecessarily negative. Whoever (sorry I don't remember who) suggested I check out Misdiagnosed Miscarriages was a godsend. It really helped boost my spirits--Thanks! Having suffered 3 mc's it's hard to keep your mind off of the possibility. I am feeling good about this pregnancy though and will let you all know about my u/s. Congrats to all with BFP's and best of luck to all in the "process"!

Thanks, Kris

2nd ultrasound

Post by krisnerol »

Hi Ladies,

My nurse couldn't be very "reassuring" at our 2nd ultrasound. The babies were measuring 2 weeks behind (consistent with last visit--so they "consistently" grew) and only one heartbeat was detected. Also, the heartbeat was slower than normal: 96bpm rather than 120-150 bpm. After scanning the misdiagnosed miscarriage website, I am not without hope. I have a tilted uterus which it seems can skew measurements not to mention my little ones could have implanted late. I am trying to remain positive til my next u/s on the 29th. I'm praying I'll shock the nurses and that there will be 2 strong heartbeats :) Any positive stories would be most gratefully appreciated.

Thanks,
Kris

Hi Ladies:

Lynnie:

The day before my first US I have this amazing pain in my lower right side. It would not go away no matter what I did, I even used a heatiing pad on low to help but nothing. I had no spotting or anything else, just this stabling pain. When I went for my US as we all know there were 3 little beans in there and my RE said that is is just strong round ligament pain. I was surprised since I had 3 children before and would not expect such a pain. He said remember it is now growing for 3.....

Moral to my little story is.. I had that sort of pain and my Uterus has already been mucho streached out from my other children. If you have not had other children the streaching hurts even worse since it is the first time those ligaments are streaching..

I hope this helped a little bit..
Well I am pooped, off to take my afternoon nap.

Lynnie, that is awesome news!!!!! I don't start stims until 12/26.

Hilary, Lynnie has a good idea there. I would save a lot of money. I know of two 43 year olds that have gotten pregnant on their first iui. One was an ivf attempt that went south and the other was an iui from the onset.

Kris, i am sorry things are not looking textbook but it is reassuring that they have not gotten any further behind isn't it? Usually failing pregnancies the babies get further and further behind each scan.

Tammy, are you going to POAS soon or wait for your beta???

Kris and Tammy my prayers will be with you both and your babies.

Sisi, i need to know when you are cycling so i can put your info in on the next group update.

Helen any news?

I am sure i have missed people. I will try to catch you next time.

Kelly,

My beta is this coming Monday, so I will probably take an EPT on Sat. or Sun.

Kris: I'm sorry to hear that your ultrasound was not more reassuring, but as Kelly said normally failing pregnancies get further behind.

Take care all,
Tammy

Kris sorry to hear about your ultra sound. I think you still have hope, I mean there are two in there and with a tilted uterus its hard to see and measure right??

Elidia thanks for the encouragement on the pains. They are better now, but there is always something new to worry about.

dcu917: Good luck at CCRM. I will be there most likely if this pg does not work and I pass that clomid challenge. But I really hope this baby will be born! Hard to know at this early point in time (5.3 weeks).

Sisi, i promise to add you soon.

Dcu917, if you will give me your dates i will add you too. Good luck to you.

Tammy, any news?

Lynnie, when is your first us?

Kris, i know you are dying to see how your babies are doing. Keep the faith. HUGS

Hil, i hope you have lots of follies tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has anybody heard from Helen? How are her twins?

Will you knocked up chicks give me EDC dates please. I am going to try to organize the list a little better. Maybe break it up into still trying vs. successes. Then eventually add "OUR BABIES". Now that one will be the coolest. I have to go back and look but i am guessing it will be you Elida. Sorry i don't have a huge price to give you for the first babies born into our group. But i think your three little girls will be prize enough!

I will make any updated list tomorrow night so give me any new information. That goes for anybody that is lurking and wants to be added. The more the merrier.

This is a great idea, Liam'sMommy!

Allow me to introduce myself......I am SunMoon&Stars, the same one who's on the nest/bump boards (any of you from there?) Like the OP, I just found this site today - believe it or not, my BIL sent me the link :o

I was married for the first time at 39. Now I'm 43 years old and will be having IVF w/DE after the holidays at the Jax Center for Reproductve Medicine. I've been their patient since October and love them.

I first started TTC in Oct 2007; got a dx of DOR soon after - but took me until very recently (Oct '08) to accept that IVF is my only option. I have a friend who got KU accidentally at 44, and I really wanted to believe that I could too. Knowing ppl who've had failed IVF's didn't help. :(

I think I was in denial for a while. I've had second, third and fourth opinions, acupuncture for eight months......but I felt like IVF was too far down the road.

Then Oct. 18th I turned 43. That very same day I attended an IF seminar, where they discussed everything. One doctor said that ovarian function usually decreses quickly starting at - you guessed it - 43. At that moment, I instinctively knew it was time for me to move on.

A couple of hours later, the three RE practices which were represented at this event each raffled off a free cycle. I won one of them, from JCRM. I know - I can still barely believe the change in luck I had that day.

Since then, I had a saline sonogram with TT on 11-13 (my anniversary, another weird coincidence), which found some endometrail polyps. I had a hysterscopy to remove those on 12-5, and on Friday I had my post-op visit. Now the RE says my uterus is ready for a baby, and I'm finally ready to do this. It's been given a 50% chance of success, which is actually by far tehbest odds I've been given.....I'm ready.

Hello all:

Welcome SunMoon&Stars to this site.

Kelly: I took a HPT this am and got a BFN. It was almost 8 days past a 3 day transfer. I'm trying to remain positive, but am a little discouraged.
I will probably test again tomorrow.

Take care all,
Tammy

Welcome SunMoon&Stars!! Yes, i think we have all guilty of denial. Sucks for sure!!!

Tammy, i have read time and time again the embies from FET are a little slower out of the shoot than embies from fresh transfers. And you are only 11dpo so that is still officially an early test. I am praying like a mad woman for you tonight.

Hi Sisi :D

HUGS to you all.

Thanks for the welcome, all

Sisi - yes, it's my first IVF. I don't have dates yet - waiting for a call from the RE.

It's funny - DH and I just spent four days in my PA hometown visiting friends and family. There was snow and 20 degree temps, and we really enjoyed that! I was suprised to see DH loved it even more than I did since he grew up mostly in FL and tolerated the heat/humidity well (although he did live in CO and Germany for a while)

I had to get re-acquainted w/snow driving. Our friends with whom we stayed live out in the country where roads don't get salted to quicly, so the first drive was nervewracking - but the landscape was amazing. Nothing you ever see in FL. We didn' want to leave.

Most of the year, I can't honestly say I love FL weather. Today it'll be 80 degrees and I really hate that around the holidays. Hopefully we'll move north once DH finished grad school next year.
