Jerseygirl- I am going for that test on Tues. My doc asked if I wanted to have an amnio but we both decided that the cvs and amnio were too risky and with my already increased risk for m/c I should hold off until I have the scan and the blood test to see what my risks are to make a decision.

Wonderce- Only 2 people at work know I am pg besides my boss. I had to tell my boss because I am missing work for all my high risk appts. They only do them during the day no eve or weekends! So I had no choice.

Well I lost 2 lbs in the past 2 weeks. She said my uterus was normal size for 12 weeks so that is good. I was a bit annoyed that she wouldn't try to listen to the hb on the doppler today. The other Ob I saw 2 weeks ago said he would at this visit, but I had a different doc in the practice today. She said she didn't think she would be able to hear the hb and insinuated I was too fat! Of course she didn't come out and say it like that but still. I know I am not skinny but I am not that big. She told me she didn't want to freak me out if we couldn't hear it and there was no one there to do an u/s if she couldn't hear it. Correct me if I am wrong but don't they use the same technology to hear the hb on the doppler as the u/s on the belly. I had an abdominal u/s last friday and was able to see the baby clearly and hear the hb. Oh well I was annoyed and disappointed. I know insurance wont cover continued sono's but at least it is reassuring to hear the hb each visit. I was hoping to hear the hb tonight since I am 12 weeks tomorrow and figured I could just let it show tomorrow. I have a really cute t shirt and jeans I have been wanting to wear to work for casual friday but it makes it quite obvious so I have been holding off!

Hey Marina- Nice to see you on this thread!

Hi Mariana, welcome! Wow, glad you found this site after your other forum took a turn. So you're expecting twins, possible identicals? That's wonderful! I keep wondering if they'll find another when I go for my next u/s but probably unlikely if they haven't seen by now. I'm happy with my one little one either way! When is your next u/s?

Kb, no worries! Just glad we're all enjoying this journey together. How's Bridget feeling the past few days?

Lyly, sorry the new doc was so insensitive! Hopefully during your rotation you won't see her too much again. Congrats on being 12 weeks! I don't know why but I think I'll feel better once I hit that mark. I can't wait to get a cute form-fitting shirt once I start showing. I hope I don't offend anyone but think I'll probably be proud and flaunt my baby belly.

Happy Friday everyone!

Hi Girls!
Well, CVS was a piece of cake. The worst part was the Dr running really behind & just having to wait and wait.
If anybody has had an IUI, it's just like that...except they're sucking in instead of pushing out. It's a tiny bit uncomfortable & a bit of cramping afterwards ( like you're getting your period ), but no big deal. It was also very quick. If anybody ends up doing it the best advice i can give is get a good Doctor who does them all the time. This Dr did 15 yesterday. He doesn't do them every day, but does about 150 a month. His miscarriage rate there is .5%. You could just tell he was really comfortable & it was easy for him.
I have to say, I'm very happy I will be sure the baby is healthy or not, if that's the case. It's nice to have something concrete in all this. I get the results Tues morning.

I almost forgot.....they do an ultrasound too.. to guide the catheter, and it actually looks like a baby now...the head looks normal & we heard the heartbeat. Exciting!

Welcome Mariana! There are a few twins on here...it's great! & no porn :D

Lyly I guess that doctor flunked bedside manners! And yes, I heard the heartbeat yesterday with the belly U/S. It seemed like he just pressed a button....wouldn't have been a big deal for her to try.
I don't like being inbetween & not tell anybody...can't wait to actually have what looks like a pregnancy bump & be able to show it in some cute tops.

Kb I live in LA, so that was the first thing I thought :) ...that's awesome!

Jerseygal You're young...you should do the Nuchal first if there's no history of genetic issues in the family.

hi everyone!
Wow the holidays get busy :D Bridget and I are doing great!
Bridget is still nauseated most mornings and sometimes throughout the day but if she eats something right after waking up-it seems to help quite a bit.
We had our first OB visit last week and it went great! such a transition-at the end of the visit she said ok see you in 4 weeks! ahhh we are so used to weekly visits it's sorta scary
but we are keeping positive and having faith all will be ok. The OB is so sweet and she has delivered our niece and nephew so we are feeling confident :D
She did an abdominal US and we saw both of them-baby b's sac caught up and is now the same size. she didn't do exact measurements but said they both have very strong heartbeats and all looked good. the way the OB explained it is you are looking at something 3D with a 2D machine and when the sac was small it might have just been folded over. we were glad to hear that.

Rinnie-congrats on the CVS going smoothly-so happy for you and wishing you positive results tuesday
Wonderce-bridget feels the same with clothes-the in between stage is tough-she doesn't look pregnant enough to be obvious but she is in the inbetween stage where her pants are a bit tight. She can't wait until she has a little baby belly :D

wow girls we are moving right along! almost to the 2nd trimester!
how are everyone's symptoms? getting better? feeling more energy?
we are down to 1 progesterone supp a day-scared to stop but we will this week when we hit the 10 week mark.

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is doing well. We had a huge snowstorm and its putting a damper on my holiday shopping. I have had a hard time shopping this year with being exhausted and not feeling great so I was hopping to go this weekend but I don't want to drive on the roads they are really icy.

KB- I am already past the 12 week mark and still tired. I slept most of the day today (well I took 2 naps). And unfortunately I am still throwing up! I hope I get some relief soon. I am not eating good and I know I need to eat but the thought of food makes me sick.

Rinnie- glad the cvs went well. How long before you get those results?

Hi guys
Thanks for welcoming.
So how many of you have twins? Are you seeing high risk ob's?Are you thinking of doing any tests? What are your doctors recommend?I know the blood triple test not informative with twins. So any of you planing on amnio?
I feel sorry for those of you who are having m/s :( , I don't have it,I almost feel bad and kinda scary- m/s is a good sign that babies are healthy. Not that I want to throw up every day.But I don't have any apetite or craving things-this is probably my m/s.

Rinnie, glad to hear your CVS went so well! It doesn't sound too bad at all, and I've had plenty of IUI's if it's similar to those. That's good news in case I end up going after my b/w and Nuchal screening on 12/30. I'll almost be 12 weeks by then and hoping I can see more features on baby bean. I have 2 different sets of u/s pics and can hardly see any details, like head, arms, legs, etc. I'd love to get one of those 3-D u/s done at some point. Let us know your results Tuesday!

KB, it sounds like you have a great OB. That's got to be reassuring since she delivered your niece and nephew. I actually haven't met my OB yet. My previous OB/GYN who I saw for 15 years or so just left the practice last year to go work for a pharmaceutical company in pregnancy clinical trials. I will miss her dearly, but she referred me to another woman OB in her practice who is supposed to be very good. I guess I'll see in January! That's great that both babies are looking so good. And hopefully Bridget's m/s will get better as we near the end of the first trimester. That's what I'm hoping for myself too! Did she try the Zofran?

Lyly, sorry to hear you're so sick. I haven't actually thrown up yet, just the constant urge that I feel like I could throughout the day. I'll ask you what I asked KB, have you tried Zofran or anything else for the nausea? I was hesitant to take any meds, but my RE assured me that Zofran is safe and I've taken 2 or 3 times and it seems to help. I just thought I'd mention in case your nausea lingers.

Rinnie - I am so happy for you!!!! I go this friday. I spoke to the Doctor's office on friday and they got back my blood work and they said that all looks good. So we are doing the Nuchal first and hope that will be it.

How is everyone else doing?

I hope that everyone has a very very Merry Christmas (sorry for not being politically correct and using "Holiday" I don't mean to offend anyone).

Talk to you all very soon!!!!

Congrats Rinnie! I don't know if you wanted boy or a girl-but I guess it doesn't matter, the most important thing your baby is healthy! And of course,it's so nice to know so early in pregnancy who is inside of you!

Wondercare-I don't think they'll find another baby in you lol,it's kinda to late.Unless if you had your u/s very early, like at 5-6 weeks -they didn't see mine until 8 weeks!

As for me,they don't mind doing u/s every time I come in(for now),so my next one is next Monday.

I can't find anybody! Where's my mom when I need her?....isn't that always the way :)

Thanks JerseyGirl Good luck this Friday...I'm sure everything will be fine. It's funny, when they turn the numbers around the odds, even for me were very slim for chromosomal issues. It was 1 in 28, which sounds daunting, but that still means only 5%...so 95% of people my age will be fine.
That means you're probably only 1% or something.

Marina you know, I originally...when we started trying..wanted a girl. But it's funny, I would always think of a boy and I told DH I thought we were having a boy. So I think it was meant to be.

He's very mellow apparently. On the U/S they knocked on my stomach pretty hard to wake him up & get him to move but he kept snoozing.....they had to do it twice. I was worried, but the tech said it just meant he was a calm baby.
Wouldn't that be nice!!

wonderce You'll actually see a baby at 12 weeks. The girl who went in before me was 12W1D & she showed me her pic. It looked sooo cute. I really want to get a 3D too...I wonder where you go?

Lyly That is not encouraging, that you're still throwing up at 12 weeks. I want it to be over immediately when I turn 12 weeks
I have it worse at night so I can't even go to any Christmas parties...frustrating.

kb2131 Glad the OB went well. I know, it's so wierd to go so long after seeing the RE almost every day. Sounds like everything is smooth right now though. Don't worry about the progesterone.

Happy Holidays everyone!!

Rinnie- Congrats on the healthy baby! My m/s is the worst at night too. I do notice a slight change. Before I had no appetite and was queasy all day. I only throw up occasionally. Now I notice that my appetite is somewhat returning but I just can't eat that much. I hope that is a sign that the m/s is starting to pass. I guess we will see.

Wonderce- I have not tried zofran or anything. I am on so many medications as it is already. I am not throwing up daily so I don't really feel the need to add any meds unecessarily. I don't even want to take my asthma meds even though I was told it was ok because they are category c.

Tomorrow I go back for my nuchal scan. I guess there is not much chance the baby is still too small and I will have to come back and have another scan. I think if that actually happened I would be concerned so I will just have to wait until 16 weeks for my next u/s
