Looking for a glimmer of hope

Post by Shannon73 »

I had my transfer two days ago and was completely shocked that all but four of my embies had arrested. The remaining embies were very poor quality so we decided to transfer the best three.

Has anyone here transferred poor quality embryos and become pregnant?

We're worried, sad and feeling hopeless. Even one success story would give us a little hope!

Never ever give up! There is always hope. We transferred three embies and two were high quality and one was low but we ended up with twins and no one knows if which ones took so it could have been one high and one low!

It's hard to not be stressed and not to think the worst. We all do it a little from time to time but try to stay upbeat and positive. Babies are amazing little things and are known to surprise us all!!! Good luck!

HUGS to you and DH!!!

Shannon, I'm pregnant from an FET using some of the slowest embies from our retrieval. This little baby came from an emby which was no larger than 6 cells at day 3. So you never know. Good luck!

I've read so many stories on this forum of "poor quality embies" making it to healthy beautiful babies...keep your hopes up!!!!

My story is quite the opposite, I had the best embies you can imagine during our first 2 transfers and nada (they didn't stick), so please, please, please don't let those details bring you down.

HUGS and HOPE!!!!

I agree-you never know, this whole process like a casino. My embryologist told me that to their surprise many women become PG with poor quality eggs, and a lots of times when excelent embryo doesn't implant(like it was with me on a 2nd try)
IVF#1-BFP,but lost our angel at 16 weeks
IVF#2-BFN
IVF#3-BFP,started w/tiplets,lost one at 7 weeks,lost a second at 15 weeks
Praying for a miracle baby to stay with us!
It's a girl!

Shannon- I have to tell you I have had 2 fresh IVF transfers and 2 frozen (FET). The first three transfers were all a bust and those were my best embies. My last FET is what worked and all I could think before I did it was that these embies were not so great quality and it was not going to work. Well I was wrong, I am 12 weeks pg today! Did you do assisted hatching on the embies? I wish you the best of luck. Be patient and don't put too much into the quality of the embies.

On my first round of IVF we transfered 3 'slow growers' on day 3 - nothing was over 7 cells and I now have a perfectly happy and healthy 3 year old that is far from a slow grower. Don't give up hope.
