Need hope after m/c at 7.5 weeks.

Post by snapper »

My second IVF/ICSI went so smoothly. We produced some nice embryos, transferred 3 blasts and finally got our BFP. It was the happiest moment of my life to hear those results.

My numbers never went up as they should...not quite doubling and slowly increasing. The pregnancy was never going to be and we miscarried at 7.5 weeks. This has been the most difficult experience of my life and I am left feeling incredibly hopeless.

Please...can anyone offer me hope...has anyone miscarried and gone on to have their baby. I feel like we got so close...maybe that was our one chance and we won't get another.

Dear Snapper

I would say don't loose heart and believe in God. Here I am in my 28th week, after loosing my first precious one in May this year. It was the approx. the same time you miscarried. It was a FET and we got a very good beta number for a singleton which was 158. But unfortunately the baby stopped developing after sometime and gradually miscarried. The doctors labelled it as chromosomal abnormality. But having a BFP for the first time, was a real boost for the next attempt.

I went in for a fresh cycle (4th attempt) just a month later in June and got a BFP again but a low beta count at 82. And here I am in the third trimester now.

Just believe in God and continue doing your bit. If you have BFP once, your chances having it the next time doubles.

All the Best for everything!!!

Dear Snapper

I just wanted to let you know that I had two miscarriages last year - at 6wks and 12wks and then got pregnant again 4 months after the 2nd one. I am now expecting a little girl in a week - so please don't give up hope - if anything you should definately feel positive that you gor pregnant. I know you probably feel like maybe that was your only chance but the fact that you got pregnant is a brilliant sign and I'm sure you will be pregnant again.
I, like you, was absolutely devastated but you have to just carry on and believe in yourself - it will happen. Love Vicky.

I'm so sorry for the pain you are going through.
I also suffered a miscarriage at 5 weeks and 3 days with out first cycle. There were no clues before it happened, numbers looked good. Anyway, after waiting for what felt like an eternity for my HCG to drop to zero (I think I'm the exception to the rule, most people drop their HCG quickly whereas I took 2 months)......we were able to go ahead with a FET in April which was successful. The baby is a little boy who is estimated by my doc to be about a big 9 lbs! He'll be here soon, my due date is 3 weeks away.
The good news is you are able to become pregnant........and you will again. Hang in there, there are plenty of us here to support you.
FET April 18th
1st heartbeat 6w3d 115bpm, 9w2d hb 171bpm
MATTHEW ARRIVED DEC 19TH....8 lbs 9.7 OZ

I'm so sorry for what you and your husband have been through. It is so tough, heart breaking, crushing...
I lost two babies in my 20s, but now have a little guy holding in at 14 weeks. Miscarraiges are so common, yet as a society we act like they never happen and don't exist, so when it does happen to you, you end up feeling so alone.
You have a lot of things going on right now. Take some time to grieve. We are all sending you our best wishes and hopes!

BFP with 1st IVF! 1st beta 60.85, 2nd beta 975!! Its a boy!
3rd trimester starts February 14th.

The exact same thing happened to me sweety. My 2nd IVF worked but our numbers crept up slowly and every thing was late to be seen, the sack the heart beat..ect. But then everything seemed to work out and we were fine. but then we miscarried at 14 weeks and my whole world fell apart. it was like I was in a horrible nightmare that i couldn't wake up from and I was so miserable. I couldn't believe that even when the whole infertile thing was supposedly over for us, it WASN't over. We where right back in the same place that we had started in.
I'm sure you feel the same way. But please know that it IS NOT your last chance. We tried again and I'm now almost 5 months 3 weeks with my twins and we're so happy. I know it's hard to hear right now, but these things happen. Not all pregnancies are perfect and please know that what was supposed to happen, however hard it is, happened because things just weren't going the way that they should.
I'm going to tell you the same thing that the wonderful angel that was posing as a nurse the night of my D&C said as she walked me back to the operating room as she held my hand becuase my husband couldn't come with with me as I cried histerically.
She said "There will be another baby."
And even in my sadness and desperation to figure out how we could ever afford another chance I knew that my angel/nurse was right. There would be another and we recouped after mourning and tried again low and behold, we have two on the way.
I'm here for you in anyway you need. I know how much your hurting and want to help in any way I can. But there is hope. Just don't give up.

Hello I would like to Thank You ladies for these positive stories it really has given me even more hope. In July we did our first Ivf and received my BFP! Me and Dh was so excited but I was so scared and always read on miscarriages to I think I really brought my thoughts to reality becasue at 14 weeks my baby heartbeat had stop i was so upset but I came to realize that God does not make no mistakes and everythhing happens for a reason. We are starting our second IVF in Jan and I have such a positive outcome on this next cycle but as it get closer I am getting scared and nervous bot all I can do is leave up to the GOD and put it in his hands and hopefully by the end of 2009 i be holding my precious gift from God in my hands.

Thanks Ladies and you all are in my prayers

I am like sonu911 I had a FET in March and had really good numbers for a singleton (we only transfered one) and then miscarried the day before my 6 week scan. I had a fresh cycle in July and got a bfp but basically had a period at the same time and my numbers were low and only going up by about 70% every 2-3 days but within normal and here I am 23 weeks later. I am still nervous but hopefully everything will go ok until the end of the pregnancy.

Check my siggy - my first 2 cycles were just like yours. Now I'm 18 weeks, just got back from hearing a healthy heartbeat at my OB! Don't give up sweetie. I know how hard the m/c is. But at least you know that you CAN get pregnant. It'll happen for you too!
