Yasmina and CarolineP:
Thanks for thinking of me. I did another HPT this morning and got another BFN. It is looking more and more like this cycle is a bust. I will know for sure tomorrow.
Take care,
Tammy

Tammy - good luck today. You can still get a BFP. I got a BFN on the HPT the day before my blood test - and it was a BFP. There is always HOPE !! Stay positive !!
Tracy
I am so sorry for the result. Yes, Andrew is an angel and I am happy that you are thinking positively. If you and your DH don't plan on another fresh ivf cycle, you can always aim at another natural pregnancy! I am also hoping your Ellena will come to you soon.
Take a good rest and give a big hug to your angel for us!

Thanks so much for the kind words about my BFN. DH and I talked last night about proceeding with our plans for adoption from China and we also talked about the possibility of embryo adoption. I am 44 and the chances of my eggs being genetically abnormal keep increasing. When I had Andrew my chances of having a baby with Downs Syndrome was 1 in 70, but at 45 years old it is 1 in 30. That concerns me.
Take care,
Tammy

1/30 equals 97% normal rate, which is higher than BFP in our age group! I have friends who are born when their mother was 49 and it was a natural pg. I don't know the cost of embryos adoption, but I suspect it would not be too much cheaper than another fresh cycle and since it requires another pg, which is what I don't enjoy very much, I rather just wait for the Chinese adoption goes through in the mean time of trying natural pg - of course, this will be you and your DH's decision. Whatever you two decide to do, it will be right for your family!
Hi all,
I will have another check up coming on this Friday after Christmas to decide whether we will schedule a c-sec. Will report then...
If I won't post again before Christmas, merry Christmas to everyone here!

Yasmina: You are absolutely right about the odds!! I guess when I see the odds increasing drastically as I get older, I get a little uneasy. I do not want to do another fresh IVF cycle. The frozen cycle was a piece of cake for me compared to the fresh cycle. The cost of embryo adoption is about 1/3 - 1/2 the cost of a fresh cycle with a much higher chance of success for me. Their current success rate is 40%. I would like to be pregnant one more time, but maybe I'm just nuts . I just wish we could know for sure that the adoption would go through. It has taken so long already and we are still 1-1.5 years away. I'm afraid that anyday the Chinese authorities will close down the international adoption program and just have a special needs adoption program. You know how much I want a sibling for Andrew.
Good luck on your check-up this Friday. Do you have a choice on having a C-section or not? If you do, I would recommend vaginal delivery with an epidural. Mine was not bad at all, once the drugs from the epidural got into my system.
Merry Christmas,
Tammy

Guys i could use a little pick me up if you don't mind the barge. I only had 4 follies at my scan. My doc seems to think that is all i can possible get. I have seen lots of posts with younger gals that have twice as many follies/eggs at ER. Maybe that just doesn't hold true for older gals. Do any of you have any success stories along those lines? If so, was it a particular protocol that made a huge difference? I am grasping at straws. I already feel defeated and i haven't even started stims. It almost seems pointless to proceed if no more follies are going to pop up.
Children what was you AFC when you had such amazing results?
I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year. Blessings to you all.
Don't worry about only having 4 - it can work. I only had 4 embryos at ER, all 4 fertilized and all 4 made it to the ET. One was dividing too fast and they said it would putter out so we really only transfered 3. One took and we were pregnant.
Stay positive - IT CAN HAPPEN !!
Tracy
Thanks Tammy and Tracy. You made me feel a lot calmer. I was feeling myself spiral into panic mode. Which is very unlike me.
Tracy i started to congratulate you on your success and then i saw that you had a tragic loss. I am so sorry. I already have a child. I just need to quit whining. I hope you are blessed again soon with a baby of your own.
I have to add a miracle story from another thread, a woman got only fertilized egg! Today it's her baby! It can happen, it truly only needs one good one!
