Jenn - I can't read your post. I started to and my eyes started to water so I had to quit. I don't want my co-workers thinking I am going batty. Well they probably do. Also they probably think that something is seriously wrong with me because every few months I have to leave for appointments. I never tell them why. They probably think I am dying or something.

I will catch up on post when I get home. I need to finally do some work today.
Spoke with the RE today and I will be doing an Antagonist cycle in Feburary. Should start stims the first or second week. YEAH!!!! I could have started when AF comes in January but I am switching insurances and don't know if I will have a chance to get things squred away with them. AF should be coming the first week in January. I did the Antagonist cycle the one and only time I have made it to ER. That time I had 6 mature eggs, 3 fert and I did a 3 DT. I only stimmed for 7 days which I believe really effected my egg quality. So this time he is going to cut down my drugs. I will be taking 150U of Follistim and 75U of menopure. They will add in ganirelix later on so I won't ovulate on my own. So that is the plan. I am not stuck in limbo. YEAH!!!!

DYS24... hi and welcome. I also have PCOS and they have had me on Metformin for over a year now... and u sure did respond well to the Meds (28 eggs) wow. I'm sorry none didnt make it to freeze. Im sorry for your BFN in Nov. i also got a BFN for my 1st cycle in Nov. It is very hard to cope with, but hopefully it will work for us this time around. Hopefully this cycle turns out well for you. BCPs, they normally place u on them to control your cycle for the month. Especially with PCOS, I am pretty sure your AFs are irregular, so there is no knowing when u ovulate if u do... which is why putting u on BCP they can control your cycle.... someone correct me if I am wrong. So school me please, what are injectables? When do you start BCPs? Once again welcome.

To_have_fun... I'm glad that your plan is finally in from your RE. I hope it goes well. SO u are jumpion in to Stim in Feb... thats great. As for Jenns post, it made me tear up too. Good thing I wear contacts and my co-worker said what was wrong, I said my contacts are irritating me.
I am 32 yrs / DH is 34

Jenn, you are one lucky girl, I have never read anything so beautiful WOW!

Chris, time to update your tag line, you are no longer on a break

I am kind of having a hard time getting into the Christmas mood this year, this is such a family time in my mind and I am reminded that it is just the 2 of us here in Canada all of our extended family is abroad. Also I am kind of watching my diet, no sweats and stuff and I am working more then normally. I was kind of thinking I might just skip the tree this year but my (Jewish) husband started talking about it and asking for it....so I set it up and my little cute dog Hugo thought the tree skirt it was a new bed and snuggled himself on there soo cute, how I love that dog.....!

I got an early present from my sister, a baby outfit with a printed "I have the best mummy in the world" in my native Icelandic. It is super cute but the pressure...uhg! I sure hope someone will be able to use that one day, I would hate to have that around not ever being used. I love that my sister is supportive but how do I explain to her this is more pressure then support?

Hopefully I will find my x-mas mood by tomorrow, as we do our dinner on the 24rth evening.

Wanted to wish everyone a wonderful holiday and thank you for all for your support I truly appreciate it and my Christmas wish is to you all getting your BFP ASAP!!!!!

JennLB, so I am sitting crying my eyes of from reading your DH email. He sounds amazing. We are pretty lucky to have men that would stay around through the crazy hormone roller coaster  I personally don't give DH any credit. I have been down because we know have to wait longer since my AF decided to be wacky as well this month(figures), but he is taking it hard I never stopped to think about stuff like that.

I too have shrugged her comments about "catholic teaching" and agree that if we love and teach our children to love and respect then who are they to judge.

I too talk about my girls for this post and people look at me like I am crazy that I know so much intimate stuff about women I never met personally. On days that I am so sad, I read your post and know that I have you ladies to turn to.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all and let get the BPF rolling.................

Jenn, Wow! That made me cry too! Doesn't it feel better to know you have his support and that he is feeling it too?

AFM, I had b/w yesterday and hcg is down to 403. It was up in the tens of thousands so we are making progress. Going back next week to see if it's under 5 yet and can start waiting for regular cycle. Also, not sure if I mentioned that I'm meeting with RE on Jan 13 to figure out next steps...
me 38: no problems
dh 43: low motility, morphology
IVF #1 (Nov 08 ): BFP! - 2 xfer'd, 4 cyro. Ended in M/C at 8 weeks.
FET #1 (Mar 09): BFN - 2 xfer'd, 2 left.

Lady_J thank you for your kind words, my doc calls stims injectables so I kind of got used to calling it like that  but its same as stims. I'll probably start BCP in Feb or March for IVF, but I'm TTC naturally using stims for 2 cycles first. So I should get my period couple of days from now and start Follistim and then pray for a miracle :) My doc only started me with metformin this month and he says it should help me with better quality eggs so I hope he's right.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday, I did but I had to go back to work on Fri :? :? which ruined my spirit lol :x

dys24 - Welcome to the board. Hopefully the stims and bd'ing will work for you and you won't even have to go through IVF again. I see lots of ladies that have PCOS get lots of eggs and then none make it to freeze. You are not alone in that area. I am also back to work on Friday. Kind of sucks but good to know that I am off again tomorrow.

robin611 - Glad to see that your numbers are going down. Gets you closer to being back on track to getting PG again. Good luck with your meeting on Jan 13, hopefully they can give you some idea of why this little one didn't snuggle in for the duration.

BarbD - I try to mention about the girls on this board to DH and to my sister. Neither of them really get what I am talking about. They both probably think I am nuts. So did your RE tell you why they are delaying your cycle?

Sisi1 - Yep, I guess I will update my tag line later on today. Hope you were able to find your Christmas spirit and enjoy the holiday. Sorry the baby outfit is putting a little more pressure on you. My best friend and my sister have lots of baby stuff to give me. So now I have the pressure of getting PG so I can use there stuff before they give it to someone else. UUUGGHHHH, I just can't take this anymore.

JennLB25 - Sorry AF decided to screw you this month. I know the waiting sucks. What are your RE's saying. Maybe they still can do the mock transfer. It is a really easy procedure. I really don't see why you have to have had AF to do it but I guess that is just they way the RE's work. Your foster child is adorable. I have heard of many stories like yours, this is why I haven't even thought of being adopting or being a foster parent. I just couldn't see myself attaching to a child and have him/her taken away. Kudos to you for trying.

Waiting for 4 - How are you doing? Hope the pain of losing your baby is subsiding a little. I can not even imagine how I would get through a m/c. It is so courageous of you to get back on track again and so quickly.

Hope everyone else is doing well and that you all had a Merry Christmas. My Christmas was good. Filled with a lots of kids running around but I didn't let that bring me down. None of my relatives asked what I was doing now so I guess that was good. I don't mind them asking but I hate having to explain the procedure over and over. I am hoping that my new insurance cards come in the mail in the next couple of days so I can get that all squared away. Then I can have the insurance crap off of my mind.

to_have_fun08 thank you for making me feel welcomed :) I heard that PCOS women have issues with egg quality but I was told by my doc "ohhhh you'll have lots of eggs leftover to freeze because you have pcos" and then I go in for transfer and they say " only 30% of women have eggs to freeze, so dont feel bad if you don't" so that was the disappointing part if I only knew that that was the % I would not be so confident about having leftover eggs to freeze, especially with 17 I was sure some will make it. But it is what it is and I'm moving on and looking forward to start with the new plan it kind of feels like IVf because I have to use stims and poke myself everyday hehe  but if that doesn't work he put me on a new protocol for the next IVF so I'll have that to look forward to.

2nd Cycle

Post by espinozal23 »

Hi this will be my 2nd cycle of IVF we will also be doing the ICSI we are looking for our RE to be Jan 8th and our RT to be Jan 11th. The first cycle we only did the IVF and we had 18 eggs and only 5 fertilized and only 3 made it to be able to transfer back none to freeze we are hoping that with the ICSI we will have more that look better and some to freeze. In case we have no success with the cycle. I am just looking for someone to chat with that is in the same cycle as I am hoping to give me incourage and have someone to chat with. PM me if you would like.

espinozal23- welcome!!! 18 eggs were great I'm sure when you do ICSI this time you'll have more fertilized! I'm assuming you didn't do ICSI last cycle? wow your ER is coming up soon, I wish you lots of eggs and baby dust! You found the right place to be in for support we'r all going thru this and we understand how it feels like. I myself had 1 failed ivf but will be doing second one in 2-3 months.

to_have_fun08 I'm on a low-carb/no-carb diet. It works great on PCOS women my doc suggested it to me and the weight has been flying off (not now because of the holidays lol ) but I'm looking forward to starting again monday. I also take metformin and that has helped me a lot I noticed that I'm loosing weight faster than I did without it.

2nd Cycle

Post by espinozal23 »

No we didn't do ICSI the forst cycle because we both have children from previous cycles and the only reason that we are having to do IVF with ICSI this time is because we didnt have alot of eggs fertilize the first time so they want to do the ICSI this time hoping that we can have some to freeze this time. So ur on your second cycle too? whats your protocol?

For now I'm doing stims and regular intercourse for couple of cycles if that doesn't work we will do next ivf probably in march. My new protocol in march would be month of BCP and lupron and follistim. Hopefully I wont have to do IVF :) but we'll see

I bet you will have a better fert. rate with ICSI good luck!! :)

2nd Cycle

Post by espinozal23 »

Cool hope you have success we are having to do the IVF because after I had my daughter I had a tubal and two years after the tubal I got pregnant in my left tube and the doctor that had done my tubal is the same doctor that done the surgery for the ectopic pregnancy and the dr took both tubes I think because he stated that he had doing tubals since 1985 and no one had ever gotten pregnant and I did so he took both of my tubes :( after me and my first husband divcored i re-married and have been happily married for almost four years and we have decided that we want to try for a baby again and its really weird this time because if everything goes how its planned we will go back for our pregnany test on the 22nd of Jan which is our anniversary.
