Lynnie, that is the best news. I really want this baby to make it. It is only fair that you get at least one baby. Thanks for posting. I really needed a little good news.

Hey guys what do you all think about my craptastic follicle scan. Have any of you ever gotten more follies/eggs at ER than you had follies at you scan before you started stimming? I am feeling so defeated. At 45.2 i have so few good eggs if i start with 4 it is doubtful that any will even make it to blast.

Lynnie: That is wonderful news!! I am so happy for you.

Yes, I'm ok with my BFN. I am disappointed and a little sad, but I knew the odds were against me with only 1 embie to transfer. For me, it was definitely not as bad as getting a BFN before I had my DS. I would like to have a sibling to raise with Andrew, but if that is not in the cards, I can accept it. I am an engineer, so I am very analytical. I always have plans and back-up plans. It sometimes drives my DH crazy :) .Hopefully, one of my back-up plans will work.

Kelly: I have never had the RE give me a follicle count before I started stimming, but maybe he did and I did not know about it. Thanks for the info. on the donor eggs. I would probably not go donor eggs, as it is too expensive and DH and I have already spent a bundle on fertility treatments. I was thinking about donor embies which is a much cheaper way to go.

Take care all,
Tammy

Tammy, i know i have a slim chance that is why i refused to move onto ivf for over a year. But then i panicked and here i am at 42.5 doing what i should have done a long time ago when i had a decent shot. That is what i get for piss poor planning.

I am going to try to be more like you. I know i should be grateful for the wonderful child i have. Thank You for helping put things into perspective.

HUGS, Kelly

Kelly, thanks for asking about me. I'm still in limbo but of course I'm leaning more toward going for another IVF. I'm thinking of calling the RE to make an appt to discuss what could have went wrong with my last cycle. I think I have read several post where a follow-up was part of the cycle but my RE didn't mention it. The only thing I got was a question of "how would you like to proceed" over the phone when he delivered the bad news of the BFN. I love the RE but the more I think about that the more mad it makes me. I think a consult to discuss last cycle may help me make up my mind.

Mitch, i think it officially called the WTF? meeting. And you should have one. Also, i would go to the have a baby . com site (no spaces). It is for SIRM clinics. And schedule a free consult with one of the REs there. No strings attached, it is a service to try and recruit new patients but it is not a sales pitch. You will have to fill out a big history/physical.....and they will go over it with you and tell you what they would do different. Even if you don't want to go there you can use the info to get you RE to try something else or whatever. Good luck to you. Keep us posted.

Kelly --

I missed your initial scan. You had only 4 follicles in your before stim ultrasound?

LOL, so did I this cycle. I wound up having at one point 8 follies showing through stims, but only retrieved 5, 3 matures, 3 fert, 2 good and1 ok embryo.

Remember, its quality not quantity! I estimate 1 out of 5 of my embryos is a good one...but I hardly get any so multiple rounds are needed to get the 5. Some women get 30 with no grade 1 embies. I guess we are just all so dang different.

Do not freak out till you get that fertilization report. If you wind up with even 1 grade one embryo you may be just fine!

Yep, I know how you feel about waiting too long, but that is where we are and what we have to deal with!

Hi, sister, it sounds like you are having a good time and your attitude is good as well. All i have to say is i hope you move near me when you get relocated. And if we are not knocked up by then it is party time and i am getting in line with Tammy to adopt.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Tammy, he is an absolute doll. He looks like he has a very sweet disposition. Does he or are his looks deceiving?

Hello to everybody else.

Kelly,

Thanks for the compliments on my DS. He is very sweet, but he has an ornery side to him as well. He loves to make people laugh.

I am trying to only count the number of cycles for the baby you are currently working on. I know some have other children via ivf but i didn't count those tries. I want to have a clear picture of how many tries it is taking for us older gals to be succesful.

Please correct me, tell me what you want me to add....... and update when appropriate. I have dropped some ladies off the roster because they have not checked in for a long time. If i dropped you off and you want to be added just post and i will put you back on. I am just trying to make this as easy for me as possible. I know its all about me.
