Endometrin Suppositories - help, please!!

Hi everyone!
Has anyone used these as opposed to Progesterone shots? I started about a week and a half ago and almost prefer the IM shots to this... about 3-5 hours after you use the medication, there's discharge and it almost seems like it's the actual medication leaking out. It really freaks me out, because I don't want to not get the full dose.

Anyone have any experience with these or advice? I keep thinking I'm doing it wrong but from everything I've read, it seems like alot of people have the same issue.

How sad is it when you would rather go back to a needle?!

Dear Suzanne,
I have exactly the same experience and I think it is OK. In my clinic they give both the shots and Suppositories so I use both and this way I am sure I get enough

Thank you for the reassurance! We're only doing the supp. twice a day so I've been panicking that I'm a big failure.

How far along are you?

I use both the suppositories and shots also. The nurses told me that I would have to wear a panty liner, because of all the leakage. I defiinately have to change it a lot through the day.

i also am doing the suppositories i even though i have to were a panty liner it beats having bruises on my butt & not being able to sit done straight....if i had to ever do this all over again i would do the suppositories... i also never understood why there was a discard intill i told my doctor & they stated it is capsale of the pill coming out & u that i was still get the right amount of medication...so i think you will be fine...good luck to u & your dh...keep us posted...her is some baby dust to u....

I am taking the endometrium supp too but my re told me to take it 4 times a day because 2 days after transfer my progesterone was only a 7 and he said he likes it to be over a 10. i feel the endometrium supp are much better than the prometrium supp. If you are so concerned ask you re what your progesterone level is to put your mind at ease. Also my re told me if i experience any cramping to insert another so if you feel ok you should be fine. BTW i change my panty liner at least 4x a day..... hang in there you should be good

Thanks so much for your responses! I feel much better. Each day, it seems to get better- I think I just needed some time to get the hang of it and know what to expect. I think I was so worried about doing something wrong that I read too much into it.

Thanks so much! PS- how long were you all on the supp.? We did progesterone shots for the first 2 months and now we're on the supp for the last month. I have to say - even though it's not the most pleasant thing, and doing them twice a day isn't a blast - it is nice not having to bother my husband every morning with giving me a shot. Can't really feel attractive when he's shooting you with a giant needle every day!!
