FET Success Stories

Post by momwant2b »

I just finished my first cycle of IVF with a BFN!! My RE said let's try FET. We have 7 frozen embryos. I have to go back for u/s and bw on the 7th of January and then transfer either 11th or 13th. I know chances with frozen are not as good as fresh but know that it can happen. Also know my age plays a factor. Just want to hear some success stories to ease my mind.

I got pregnant with this baby with my second FET. I had 8 frosties from the only fresh cycle I've ever done :) It does happen, and some women do better with FET than with fresh cycles because you don't have to go through all the ovarian stimulation (AND they are much easier and less taxing than fresh cycles, therefore, more relaxing).

Best wishes to you!!!!!

Like esperanza, I'm pregnant from my second FET. The FET cycle is much less stressful than a fresh cycle. Best of luck!

I got my Bfp in 05 with my first IVF & FET- i was hypersimulated and all my embies had to be frozen until my ovaries calmed down which was a month later. and now 4 1/2 years later i did another fet cycle transfered 2 embies on 12/15 - this cycle was much easier- didn't do lupron - and i just got my BFP on Christmas. These embies are from the same batch as my DS from 05. so it can def. work! just have faith stay positve and relaxed and things should go well. I still have another 2 frozen embies too! Good luck!

DeeStar,

My RE has me on the vivelle patches right now and I have to go in for u/s and bw on the 7th. He will decide then when to do the transfer and how many. I have two frozen blasts and the other 5 were frozen either day 2 or day 3. I hope they transfer at least 3 but have a feeling it will be the 2 blasts. So far the patches have been a breeze compared to all the shots. But will have to start those again 2 days before transfer. Hopefully, 2009 will our year for BFP!!!!!

Strawberry199,

Yes, hearing these stories helps. I have read so much negative about frozen transfers on the internet but to hear the success stories helps so much. Gives me hope.....

I have had 3 fresh cycles(DD from 1st IVF) and 3 FET got a BFP with my last and final FET. I also was very worried about it working, thinking that if the fresh cycle didn't work then the FET wouldn't, but I was wrong and very happy I was. I know when I asked about others doing FET there are lots of success stories out there from FET so keep positive thoughts and it will work.

Hi, Good luck in your 2ww.
Just wanted to add my experience. I got a BFN on my fresh cycle, but was lucky enough to have 10 frosties. I did 2 FET's and got pregnant on both but both were chemical, I had further tests and was found to have a clotting problem.
On my 3rd FET we decided to thaw 2(as we were running low only 4 left) as we can only transfer 2 in the UK. Mine were all frozen at 2 day and they thawed perfectly both 4 cell. My babies are now 6 months old, yes they both took!!
I was 37 when my eggs were frozen, 38 at tranfer and 39 when i gave birth.
everything is possible.

We had 3-3 day embryos for our transfer. I don't understand some of this stuff but on the report it showed one was a 6 cell, one a 4 cell and one a 3 cell. All were grade 2. I know it can happen just keeping my fingers crossed and PRAYING lots and lots.

Hello ladies, Well I was reading your post and I am doing my first FET, I started the lupron on 1/9 and the Nurse said it should be 24 days after that, so we are hoping either 1/30 or 2/2(since the office is not open on weekends). Can you guys tell me how this FET works, why do I have to wait so long? Did any of you do the lupron before the FET? Sorry to be asking so many questions but I am nervous and anxious.
