espinozal23 – I’m not sure when my ER and ET will be. It all depends on how I respond to the meds. I go back to the RE on Friday and then every other morning until my ER. Last time around I stimmed for 8 days… I responded really well to the Follistom so they actually greatly reduced my dose after stim day 4. This time around I am only starting with 225 IUI of Follistom because my RE thinks it’ll be less shock to the eggs. Apparently cutting back the stims significantly can shock the eggs. I think since we’re doing it a little slower that I’ll be on stims for 9 or 10 days, which would put my ER on the 9th or 10th. We’ll see. Plus I had really bad OHSS last cycle so my RE thinks the lower dose will help eliminate it this time around. I really hope so cause OHSS is very uncomfortable!

Sisi1 – Thanks for the diet info. I’m already trying to eliminate refined sugars which is quite difficult since it’s in practically everything I eat. Do you know why its best to avoid al cold foods? I may look that up since I’m so curious.

Barbd – Feel better soon. What a bummer you had to push back your RE appointment. Get plenty of rest!

Hello Ladies... How is everyone???? Off the topic, I am so exhausted. I have been trying to get my house cleaned up for tomorrow... my house is a mess. Since I work full time and have to go home and feed my DH and cook and also attend to my 10 yr old... I rarely have time to clean my house so now that I am cleaning, aaarrrr. I am not doing a thourough cleaning since I found out a few years back, "what is the point, the house gets a mess anyway and then u have to clean it again"... so I basically get the essentials done first (bathroom, kitchen living room)... then I just sweep and mop. The basement is where the party will be, so my DH is cleaning that, since that is his kingdom (rec room.. pool, poker, bar, rec room). SO I got the kitchen clean yesterday and today is the bathroom, sweep and mop. Tmorrow I work but I get out early so then I go home and cook. Yipee!!! Sorry, Im just blabbing. And then to top it off... my dear daughter, my 10 yr old dear daughter, my sweet baby is not a baby no more but she will always be my baby.... she has gotten her AF today  I am so excited, yet so scared now, yet so excited. It is weird, but then again I got mine at 9 yrs old, now I know how my mother felt as her only daughter. yikes!!! Anyway, now I am really getting Drunk as a skunk tomorrow...

ok... Uno MAS... You are very blessed that u have 2 already, and NO, u r not selfish that u want more, cuz then that would make me selfish as well cuz I already have 1 blessing.

Espinozal23... I am in the same situation, I dont understand why it didnt work, my eggs were good (8cell A- & 5 cell B), my lining was good, his spermies were good.... but as u said, it wasn't our time but this time will be our time. As for you BFF... I hope she is ok. Have u heard anything about the accident?

waiting for 4... Hi girl... I like your ticker, it is so Winterish. :) I need to get on some kind of strict diet before my next ET. Starting Monday, I am going to get on a Low Carb Diet. I need to lose quite a few pounds also. As for your meds.... did u check with your RE to see why u were switched? I don't think I like the idea of suppositories, I'd be afraid that they would slip back out so I'm with u on this one.

Sisi1... SO this fish oil... what is that good for? And can u take that with the multivitamin that u r already taking? I also read somewhere about flax seed oil. Is that for the same thing or different? I would like to take anything that will help better my chances.

TKat... Congrats on starting your stimms... we are finally getting closer to it all. I hope & pray u respond well.... Good Luck TKat. So basically u will be doing ER/ET NEXT WEEK  :D How exciting!!!! I am so excited for you. Keep us posted on your progress.

We are finally getting closer.... for those of u that r doing this for the first time, u r in for the ride of your life, and for thos of u, like me, that have been thru this before, it feels as scary and exciting as it did the first time just a little scarier, hoping for the best but fearing the worse. The first time I was so positive it was going to work the first time, I was full of PMA... and when I got my BFN it was heartbreaking and dissapointing and somewhat embarrasing... now I am not full of PMA, just full of HAP (Hopes and Prayers) that it will work this time. Good Luck to all you ladies... may the Year 2009 bring us our IVF Miracle!!!

XoXoXo

BarbD.. Im sorry hun, I forgot your personal... now u get one on your own. So u r still feeling sick... how awful... and now u had to change your appoinment... bad cold, bad bad cold.... leave Barb alone. Hope that works. Have u tried anything, and extra Vitamin C? Or at night try this... rub some Vicks Vapor Rub on your feet and keep them warm. That usually does the trick.. old Mexican Wives tale, it will knock the cold right out your feet. Hope u feel better soon and good Luck with your RE on Friday.

Lady_J - You are cracking me up. Go Clean!!!! I do the same thing, when I clean I just clean the essentials. My room is such a mess. I know I am a slob. I just don't like spending my time off cleaning. Have fun with your party tomorrow. I just have a feeling that my DH is going to invite friends over tomorrow. Which means I will have to go home a clean. Not so much fun.

waiting for 4 - I hear they have done studies and that suppositories are just as effective as PIO. I would rather do PIO because from what I hear suppositories are a mess. The last thing I want to deal with is a mess down there when I have cramping and all those other symptoms from the 2ww.

Hello Ladies

Yes we have an update on my BFF she has to go and have surgery next wednesday and have half of her knee cap replaced but other than that she is in good shape talked with our boss today and got it set up so that she can wrk from home so that she want miss and wrk and still get to keep her health insurance. thought that was really cool of the boss to be willing to wrk with her,

So Lady J I have seen were you were talking about an old Mexican wise tale if you dont mind me asking are you mexican? I am just wondering becauase my husband is 100% mexican and I love every ounce of him. It was funny becasue I always teased him about how mexican men have so many babies and then when I took in his semen to have them look at it to make sure nothing was wrong with it the lady in the lab called be back to tell me that his sperm count was off the chart and that his sperm looked great and I told her please dont tell him that because his head will swell. Just thought that was a funny little story that happened to us last time and though that you all might get a laugh from it.

Hello again!

To answer the donor question. It was something a co-worker was doing, and I decided to sign up to do it. The first time taught me the money they pay is not really worth the effort, so I did it two times more out of the goodness of my heart. The 3rd time I did it I was called back from someone I donated to before, because I obviously gave them a child before.
They treated me so well there, so of course that is where my hubby and I went back for fertility treatment.

Knowing this time we are the ones wanting the baby makes it so much more nerve racking. I can deal with the injections, and hormones, but we really want a baby badly. Our insurance only really covers one treatment of IVF, so we are praying this works. :)

Lupron

Post by Sisi1 »

Yuck, I have only just started using the Lupron and I am already experiencing side effects. I have gained 2lb and I feel very bloated. Had difficulties sleeping last night.
I also have slight ache in the ovaries and slight nipple tenderness.
I think my temper is getting a bit worse too! It is my first time and I was not expecting anything as I appeared to tholerate the stimms well before. :?

Fish oil is very healthy it does contain a high amount of vitamin A & D and can be taken with other vitamins for a period of time. Fish oil is also high in the good Omega 3 oils, that we unfortunetly have too little of in our regular diet.

Hope everyone is doing well, have a great time tonight, last chance to party!

Happy new year! :D

Hi Ladies;
Well I am back for another round of IVF. I was originally on the Oct/Nov board but our ET was cancelled due to the fact we have to do PGD for a chromosome abnormality. Out of the 9 eggs the RE retrieved only 4 fertilized (3 grade b and 1 grade c). Since we are paying for PGD RE recommended we freeze what we have and do another cycle, then PGD all of them at once to increase our chances. I was so devestated. I guess I had convinced myself I would be pregnant by Christmas and it was all I wanted. So I left the boards for awhile but I am back now and hope I can join up with you again.
Christmas was hard and shopping was harder...all those babies and baby stuff seemed to be following me wherever I went. There was a few times DH had to take me out of a store because I was ready to start crying again. Love my hormones! I am feeling better now and even though at the time I didnt think I would be strong enough to do another cycle (I had originally said to DH only 1 cycle) I am ready again to do another.
So I am waiting for my period which should be here around Jan 9th. Then start stims again. My protocol isnt changing...Bravelle, Menapur, Antagon...thankfully I have some left over from the first time and REs office said they might be able to help me out with some donated meds.
Well have a happy new year and heres to lots of BFPs in 2009.

prayin4BFP - Welcome to the board. Glad to see you are going to start a new cycle really soon. I know all too well about hoping and wanting to be PG by Christmas and then getting the big let down. I think I handled Christmas really well. There was a lot of children at my family get togethers but I tried my hardest not to think of my problems and just tried to have fun. Hope you get more eggs this time so then you can have a really good batch of eggs to do PGD and then get your BFP.

Good luck,

Chris

Thanks to have fun08! I am excited to be back honestly. We are still doing this in secrecy. The only one who knows is my friend who is a nurse because she helped me with my PIO last time. But she is a psych nurse and she has a hands off approach since she doesnt know anything about IVF. I am kinda thankful for that...just shoot me in the butt then lets move on to other things...:)
I am glad though no one knows because the holidays really would have be even harder with the family all being sorry for us. My MIL gave me a sun catcher (I think thats what they are called...the glass thing that hangs in the window) and on it it says "where there is love there is life". I hung it in my kitchen and it really gave me the strength I needed. Funny how that happens right?
