Lupron/period question

Post by *Ert* »

Hi,

I just started taking lupron on Monday the 29th. That is also the day I took my last BCP. I took that for 23 days. 6 days ago I started spotting which my RE said was ok. Well, today it is more than spotting but I wouldn't say it is a full flow yet. The past 6 days it was brown and today it is more red. I have to wait to call my RE until tomorrow because they are closed today, so until then I was wondering if anyone has any idea what is going on with me. I thought it would take about 6-7 days of being on lupron for my period to start. I have only taken it 3 nights now. If anyone has had this happen I would appreciate your experiences. Thanks!

Hey

It is normal to get a period when taking lupron. You don't always get it but can. I got mine 2 out of 3 cycles. Not to worry. :)

totally normal, you just stopped BCPs and should get your AF.

So I imagine you would start stim meds in the next few days..

So do you guys think what I have right now is my period? It is normal to get a period after only 3 days of taking lupron? And is it common that it is lighter than a normal period?

I think it depends more on the BCP than on the lupron, so it makes sense to me that you have spotting or your period after stopping you BCP. Good luck with the rest of your cycle. Baby dust!!!!!

This is how IVF works, they use the bcps to suppress your ovaries and time your cycle. When you stop the bcps, your body starts cycle day 1. Lupron has nothing to do with your period. It helps down regulate your ovaries to get all your follies on the same playing field (and some other things)...
