Rhonda - congratulations !! You have given us all hope over here !!

Just wishing everyone a great 2009.

DH and I are going out for awhile. DH does not want to stay in this year - we were suppose to be home with "Spike" but now without him - he does not want to be home at all today. Anyway I just ordered the next round of drugs today $$. I have been going from being excited to being scared. Thinking about being pregnant again - then thinking about the steps 1.) getting some eggs 2.) then they have to fertilize 3.) then they have to survive to day 3/5 4.) THEN they have to implant 5.) then the beta numbers have to double 6.) then we have to see a heartbeat 7.) then an all clear on the amnio. There are soooooo many steps to go through again - I am just terrified that we will not be able to get to where we were before. Oh well - enough ranting and raving - time to put on the "smile" and go out tonight. Though I do have to say Rhonda has kept my spirits up today !!

Rhonda,

I cannot tell you how happy your post made me. :D That is what happened to DH and I. We had a failed IVF and a couple of months later got pregnant naturally with our DS. It is your Christmas miracle.

Tracy: Good luck on your next cycle.

Catharine: Thanks for the kind words on Andrew. He is not always serious. He is a little rascal and will do anything for a laugh.

Happy New Year,
Tammy

Yasmina,

Thanks for the compliment on my Andrew. He is not always serious, as he has a very rascally side to him.

I hope you have had a nice time visiting with your father and step-mother.

I hope everything is going well with your pregnancy.

Take care,
Tammy

It's 2009 hard to believe :D

Hope everyone has recovered from their party reveling  DD was in good party form. I believe it is the first ringing in the new year we've done in some time.

Wishing everyone good health and prosperity in this new year.

Cheers!

Rhonda,

I never believed "infertility" unless the person is completely lack of some of the reproductive organs! You again proved my point and as Tracy said, you inspired us all! We had quite many over 40 ladies here had natural pg following failed ivf cycles. It was believed that treatment increased the fertility rate. Congratulations to you and your DH!

Tammy/Catharine/Tracy,

Happy 2009! We had a big turkey last night with bunch of my colleagues and my parents. It was the first time for them to see such a giant bird and they were so impressed by how much meat each of us could consume!

I often woke up in the night due to lower ab pains. I am anxious to have him out of me now. Unfortunately, my OB is not. I am even very willing to schedule a c-sec to have him early...

Our DD gets lovelier each day and most of the times I don't really do anything but stare at her in amazement! She is perfect in every way and I guess you feel the same when you are looking at your children! I will let you know how I feel about our second one. So far, I have to admit, I only complained about this pg and I almost hated every minute of it and I have not developed much of attachment to the unborn child yet. We are still debating about his name because the fact that we have not "met" him yet, I tentatively named him Remy and my DH prefers Jeremy. Then I said Pierre and he said ok, let's wait and see...

Alright, raise your glass of champaign and let's all welcome a happy 2009!

thanks Yasmina. I know you know how excited I feel right now. Its just so crazy. I know you are ready for that sweet baby to be born. i remember that feeling. though its been fifteen years ago, I havent forgotten some of it. That story about your father and stepmother and the turkey is funny. They wouldn' t want to see my family consume some turkey. boy that would scare them to death. ha ha. Well take care and hang in there. Oh and the name Remy is so cool. I like different names. My dd is named Tanja. Not sounding like tonya but TAN JA. the ja is pronounced.

Thank you all so much for the kind words and excitement for me. I know how hard it is checking the posts day after day when you don't have that bfp. Im scared right now because I know how fragile this time period is. I was gonna try and keep it quiet, but that lasted about two seconds. ha ha.

What I was wondering though is what is a good beta number for me if I am between 4 and 5 weeks? my first one yesterday was 5000. I dont know a thing about beta numbers is that good? also my ob doc want test me again for a week. I have heard people get checked again after two days but she said a week. Then the week after that ultrasound and pelvic exam. Does that sound similar to anyone else. I just really scared now.

Also when did you all feel symptoms. I have sore boobs but not unbearable. I dont really feel sick yet. What is so weird about that is with my DD and DS I got so sick right off the bat. I had to be hospitalized both times and lost 22 pounds with the first one and 18 pounds with the second one. I couldn't even work. i was down for 4 months. That was horrible. Believe me I dont want that to happen again. I have to work now to pay all of the ivf stuff and meds im in the hole for. But That was 20 and 15 years ago so maybe this ole body is different now. Or is it too soon?

Thanks for your input.

Hello Ladies:

Rhonda: Thanks for the compliment on my DS. Your beta sounds good.
I had no morning sickness my entire pregnancy. Count your blessings.

Socal: Thanks for checking in. Glad to hear you are doing well.

Yasmina: I'm sure you will be in love, once your "little guy" is born.

I attached another photo of Andrew. I went into the dining room and found him on the table helping me sort the Christmas ornaments.

Rhonda,
Don't worry about the beta. The DR's usually check the betas every 48 hours, but if they are over 1000 they don't check any more. Therefore, since yours is already so high they are not concerned about it doubling - it already is good enough. Also, the first US is around week 6-7 so you are right in line for yours. CONGRAUTULATIONS !! Enjoy - I never had morning sickness or other illnessness - it is great - ENJOY !!
Tracy

PS - Happy New Year to everyone - I hope that in 2009 everyone gets their wishes come true.

Hi all,

Well, it's a working day which I don't feel like working. Just to company Andrew, here is a pic taken on Dec. 26, 2008 when the daddy and dd were missing me while I was at work. It was taken with a computer built-in camera so the resolution is not so good, but you can see how big our dd has become now.

Tammy,

Andrew is lovely, I prefer his "seriousness" though - more of a MAN! Of course, his smile brightens the day! I wish our kids never grow out of their cuteness but they just grow too fast...

Rhonda,

I wonder whether your ob will check your progesterone level after a hi hcg. Are they going to do a ultrasound between 6~7 weeks and then every 2 weeks after that during the first trimester? I think most of the clinics now using first trimester's U/S to predict your due day nowadays. But for a natural pg, I guess the first day of the last period still works. I am still overwhelmed by your good news. I am so happy for you!

About morning sickness, I had very long ones in both of my pgs as well, I still have some now in the morning if I drink raw and cold milk. I read somewhere that this means our unborn babies have a lot of hair. Well, our dd did have a lot of hair while she was born. However, I cannot say about our ds. We will see.
