Interesting in that article that it says baby aspirin could be helpful in blood flow to the ovaries, especially for those with PCOS. I definitely think this is something I want to discuss with my RE now! Wow, thanks for the heads up espinozal!

Mandeekins- DH said TESE was painful, but he might have also overexaggerated a bit. I am sure recovery was quite similar to that of a vasectamy. He did say that he was awake for the procedure and that when they made the first cut he felt it, and the dr was shocked he felt it so they gave him more numbing, so maybe that is why it was so painful for him. He is glad he has some frozen so we can try again, but he said he would go through it again if he had to...so it couldn't have been that bad.

Good morning! Sorry I have been off of here for a few days. We’re moving into our house so we’ve been doing a lot of painting, cleaning, etc… I went to the RE yesterday and I have about 20 follies all under 10mm. I did have 1 at 12mm and 1 at 13mm also but the rest were under 10mm. They didn’t change my dose of Follistom at all and I go back tomorrow morning. They said everything looks good. I’m stimming much slower this time around which is a good thing. I really hope I stim for 10 days rather than 8 like last time. That would put my ER next Saturday rather than during the week. We shall see.

espinozal23 – Sorry to hear about your lining. I’m sure it will thicken up over the next few days. We’re both getting so close to the 2WW! I’m actually kind of dreading it already. I just remember all the ups and downs from last cycle.

CT_michele – Welcome to the board!

Tkat - Glad to see you are stimming slower. That is what I am hoping for this next cycle. Last time I did the antagonist I only stimmed for 7 days. Re wasn't happy with my eqq quality. Well duh do you really think quality is going to be go with only stimming for 7 days? So frustrating. Sounds like you are moving along well. 20 follies sound really good. Keep us posted.

espinozal23 - I don't know about baby aspirin and helping out the lining. I will start baby aspirin the day of retrieval. Re said it was supposed to help with blood flow and inplantation. Hope you lining thickins with the increased dosage of meds.

CT_Michele - Welcome to the board. Glad you still have spermies left over. I don't know if my DH would ever go through that process. Well, maybe he would for me but he wouldn't like it. Good luck to you.

mandeekins - Let us know what RE says about the baby aspirin. I am kind of interested in what helps PCOS patients. I have not been diagnosed with it. RE said he doesn't believe I have it but I have all the symptons except that I ovulate regularly.

BarbD - AF show yet. She is always slow when we want her to come. I need her to get here quickly, so I can start BCP's again. I want to get my ER down before Feb 14. If it is after that I have to do all the blood work test all over again because it will be a year since I last did them. DH would also have to do his tests again. UUGGHHH come on AF.

dys24 - Remind me, you are doing iUI this month correct? I was thinking you were and seeing that you are only doing 50u of follistim I figured this was correct. Good luck!!!!

Sis1 - I am with you, I need to have control for the shots so I do them all myself. I just don't trust anyone jabbing me and DH didn't really want to do them. I give all my injections except for PIO in the tummy. I have lots of flab so it doesn't hurt.

Lady_J - AF here yet?

Hope everyone else is doing great. Nothing is new with me. I was hungover all day yesterday. What a great way to spend a day off. One of these days I might grow up.

So here I am still on OCPs until the 14th. I am anxiously waiting for all this to happen. I found out on New Years Eve approval for my IVF went thru and I got the letter confirming it last night. I think I will save it for future scrapbook. Ahhhhhh I always start but never finish it. Well hope everyone is doing great especially at the start of this beautiful 2009. This is our year we will all be having 2009 babies.

Lady_J…I am on BCPs too and I should get AF on Jan 12 or 13th I think. It just seems so far away. I looked at the calendar and I think I am looking at a Jan. 28th ER. I wanted to tell my boss to jump off a cliff but I didn’t. She scheduled a staff meeting for the day after my ER and she expected I would be there. I ended up going in wearing sweats and still bent over with cramps. After the meeting she held me back and started in. I just was like I am not doing this. I quit right there. I went home crying and told DH. He was and is really supportive. He was unhappy with the way she had been treating me lately too so that kinda sealed it for me. I am lucky DH can carry our financial load right now (we are also in the process of buying a house) but staying home is lonely.

Tohavefun…thanks for the AF dance promise…I will hold you to it.  I was looking at the want ads and honestly I don’t know if I will be employable if I do get pregnant at the end of Jan/beginning of Feb. I was going to put out some feelers and maybe I can start working for a knitwear designer knitting samples or I can do pattern revisions or something. Those are things I can do from home and I wont need to go into an office. DH has always made more money than me and I know how lucky I am. If we do get pregnant after this IVF cycle I will probably be a SAHM.

Mandeekins…I do my injections in my thighs. Im pretty muscular and I thought I would have a problem but I didn’t. Also check the size of your needle. If you are doing a sub cutaneous injection then you should only have a ½ in long needle.
My DH had a TESA too and he was ok with it. He said it was uncomfortable not painful really. I think everyone is different and we all have different tolerances for pain. I know I can be a big baby about things sometimes.

BarbD…feel better with your cold.

Well I think I finally found out a way to do personals on here…I opened up a Word document and just went back and forth through all the posts. I think I got almost everyone…Im sorry if I missed you.
DH and I are going to Puerto Rico at the end of Feb (incentive trip with his job) and I hope I will be ok to go after ET. It will be nice to get out of the cold weather and sit in the sun. But I will happily give up the trip for my BFP.

Hello Ladies, I hope everyone is doing great, I'm ok the 2nd day of stims passed and it feels weird. I'm using same medicine (follistim) as last time but it seems like it stings more this time its so weird lol. I'm going for b/w on monday and u/s on wed. to see if/ and how many follies are growing ;) Ohter than that i went to see he curios case of benjamin button today and i cried and cried lol ohhh I'm such a cry baby lol

to_have_fun08 its kind of like an iui without the insemination part lol  my insurance doesnt cover iui or ivf so i figured I wont waste money on iui and just do stims and regular intercourse, my doc said its a good idea since my dh sperm is perfect and the chances are still good. instead of paying 2k for iui i can save that money for my next ivf (hopefully i wont need one lol)

Good luck dys24! I wish that option would've been open to us...our insurances won't cover any of this since DH's vasectomy was voluntary  Like he chose to have a severly handicapped child and the doctors couldn't find the genetic link on purpose...stupid insurance companies!

I know what you mean about the cry baby. I've just noticed the last couple of days my mood swings are crazy...and I'm only on the Lupron. Got in a big fight with DH today, and I really couldn't tell you what started it

Let us know how the stims go...Baby dust!

I'm new to this whole process. You all seem so educated on IVF, the medicines and procedures. I have my first set of tests on Monday so hopefully I will receive more information and know a little bit more of what to expect. I was told if all things work out as planned we will do our first ER/ET at the end of this month or first week of Feb. I'm nervous, excited and scared. Your messages have helped me. I'm sure I may have lots of questions for you all after my appt on Monday.

I feel way behind, since some of y'all are already on meds. I don't start any meds until I get AF, which will be hopefully the 15th of this month.

For those of you that started the process already i wish you great success.

I am most nervous about the progesterone (SP) injections, since they seem like the ones that will hurt.

Molly - won't lie to you the PIO shots aren't the best but don't let the needle scare you too much. Once you have broken the skin it doesn't hurt anymore then the smaller shots. You should do fine. Don't feel behind. I am just getting AF and have to be on BCP's for another month. Won't stim till Feb so you are a head of me.

Rosario - Glad you have the insurance approval out of the way. I will be doing that on Monday. will this be your 3rd IVF cycle. I know you were canceled in June/July and then got a BFN in August. I couldn't remember if you did IVF before that. Baby dust to you.

kcraven - Welcome to the board. If you stick around here long enough you will be just as knowledgeable. I thought I knew a lot about IVF but after coming to this board found I didn't know that much. Know I am a pro. Or would like to think so since I have been messing with this crap since last April. Wishing you the best us luck. Keep us posted and good luck with your tests.

mandeekins - I find that when I am on the drugs I am always trying to start fights with DH. I have now learned to step back and think before talking. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. When do you in for your baseline u/s and b/w?

dys24 - I also want to see the Benjamin Button movie. Probably will wait till it comes out on DVD. I hardly ever go to the movies. Good luck on your follies growing. There is no problem with my DH's swimmers so maybe I could do that if IVF never works. Who knows i don't want to think about that just yet.

My appointment is Friday, on my paper it's a suppression check. All I know is that they will be doing a blood draw and ultrasound...it's getting closer!

I haven't really picked any fights so far, but there's been a couple times when he says stuff to me and I snap. Then he pouts and then I'm angry at him for pouting and not understanding that when I snap, it's not personal...just a bad moment! He gave me a kiss this am, which is his way of making up

to_have_fun08 I got cancelled on early May/June then took OCPs the month of June to July. July/August is when I got my BFN and I will be on IVF #2 this cycle. This is our year Chris. All will be well.

10 more days left to be on OCPs. Woooo woooo. I am just so positive this time around. My clinic did everything for me. Submitting insurance info, ordering meds, etc... I have been stress free this cycle. Everything is just so real. DH's birthday is next month Feb 2. I was hoping to give him good news but I guess it will be a little after that. My angel in heaven is looking down at all of us.

Wow- there are so many people on this thread, it is going to take me some time to get to know you all!

Rosario- It is definitely good to stay positive. i hope you will be able to give dh that good news as a belated b-day gift.

Mandeekins- I think we all get emotional during ivf time, it is just so stressful, so hopefully dh's understand.

Molly- don;t worry, i am behind on this thread too. I don;t even have a consult until the 22nd of this month, so i will probably be cycling closer to march.

Kcraven- You have found a wonderful place to hang out. These boards are awesome, so supportive, and knowledgeable people. you will learn a lot and hopefully the process will not be so stressful or intimidating with so many supportive people to talk to.

dys24- keep me updated, grow follies grow! When will your trigger be?

Nothing new for me. Just enjoying hanging out with my little Ella before i start this journey all over again. i am anxious to start, I might actually call RE tomorrow and see if they have a consult any sooner than the 22nd. i just want to get going.

mandeekins- I feel you on the insurance part. I fought with them forever and it didn't help at all, I still didnt get any coverage so I only wasted my time  I also feel you on the mood swings. I always get snappy when I'm on hormones, its just another side effect. My doc told my hubby to stay away lol Arghhhhhhhhh those hormones can really get to ya

kcraven- welcome! I was lost too when I started my IVF journey but you will learn so fast by the time of your ER you'll be a pro!! lol Good Luck, lots of baby dust to you!!!!

Molly23- don't worry about the progesterone shots, they really look more scary then they are. I found them better than stims since the stims sting more and po shots its just when the needle goes in and when done quick you really dont feel anything. Plus you'll just get so use to being poked you won't think about it :D

to_have_fun08 the movie is really good, I enjoyed it because its so different than any other movies out there. As for this cycle, I think this is a good option if you need a break from IVF, or like me need to save some money for ivf, its way cheaper and gives you good odds too, especially since your dh sperm is good.

Rosario- yeyyyy you'r moving right along next thing you know you'll be doing you ER, I bet its great to have a supportive staff at your clinic, mine is o.k although they can be rude at times, but I like my doc for now so I'm sticking with him.

CT_Michele- wow you'r moving along fast, thats great! will pm you after this :D :D

As for me, I'm going in for b/w tomorrow morning to see my e2 levels, hopefully they'r rising :) and u/s on Wed. Back to work tomorrow  I was off from work 4 days I feel so lazy
