I did and got a BFN and then did it again w/ a big positive(twins)

I think acupuncture (over time) really helped my body and my system, but my acupuncturist was also a great diet helper, therapist, and guide to finding my own path through all of this.

The studies show it does make a difference, but that said it doesn't guarantee a positive. Also I know many women who did not do it and got BFP.

If it will stress you out, I say it's not worth it. If it will be a relaxing half hour for YOU each week, I say go for it. Also some just do it before and after transfer.

was that just no help at all???

I did a lot of stuff. Daily wheatgrass for FSH .
DHEA and L-argenine for being a poor responder and I gave up caffeine, wheat, meat, dairy and cut back on sugar. I ate lots of beans and Kale and quinoa and totally cleared up my allergies.

I went to maya massage.

The big difference this last cycle was that I exercised. (not any crazy jumping) but I did spin class and vinyassa yoga (the one where you move through, not hold, poses) up until transfer.

I soaked my feet in epsom salts between retrieval and transfer.

I drank pregnancy tea - raspberry leaf, lemon balm, nettle leaf until transfer.

I did about 6 months of acupuncture before my June cycle. Then it was a BFN. I did nothing for a while and then jumped in for an August cycle. That meant I only did about two weekly treatments before it was time for retrieval.
I did a session before transfer and then stopped home after.

If I sound like a nut, I'm not. I was told last christmas to give up, that I had few eggs and that they were bad. I was 39. I decided to give myself one year to try everything I could. I cleaned up my diet and took itamins and wheatgrass and yoga to try to improve egg quality.

I did DHEA and L-argenine (under RE's supervision) as well as lots of omegas and good oils to improve my status as a poor responder. I got a miraculous (for me) 3 eggs, and am pregnant w/ twins.

I learned a lot about diet and well being and am grateful for it.... Now I'm pregnant and craved cheetos for a month, but I will probably go back to that healthy diet again.

Last christmas I was in despair. This christmas I'm waddling around so peaceul and happy. Feel free to PM me if you want any more specifics.

I did acupunture this time and expecting twins.
This is my 4th IVF, I did not do it for the first 3 and they did not work.

I am now 12weeks 4 days and I still go for the acupunture once a week. I am very very luckly though my insurance covers it.

I swear by it!!!

I did accupunctue & chinese herbs for months & I know it improved my eggs and helped implant. I wouldn't be pregnant at 43 without it.
Plus...it makes you feel sooooo good :D

Hi Daniela,
I don't know if you remember me from Sheredjourney(I'm pretty sure it's you,the same nick),I was pregnant at the same time as you but lost my baby at 16 weeks. After that I did another IVF-bfn.After that I looked into acupancture(my friend swears by it).I did it for 2 months+ chinese herbs and a slight change in my diet-no caffeine,no dairy(except yogurt),no wine!,only whole grain bread. We changed clinic, bought 3 times package, transfered 2 and got PG on a first try...with triplets. (we lost one at 7 weeks)
I did acupancture before every week until retrieval and then on a day of transfer- right before and right after.I was supposed to go until 12 weeks ,but we own so much money and my insurance doesn't cover. We got almost to the end of the 1st trimester so far and taking one day at a time.
I'm not sure what helped this time, but here we are.
I know it won't hurt anything.I didn't have problems with lining, fsh or egg quality(well,at least they didn't think, they were able to get 16-18 eggs each time from me and 10-12 always were good ).So I wasn't really sure what exactly acupancture can improve in me(maybe implantation, blood flow),so I did it.
Good luck!
IVF#1-BFP,but lost our angel at 16 weeks
IVF#2-BFN
IVF#3-BFP,started w/tiplets,lost one at 7 weeks,lost a second at 15 weeks
Praying for a miracle baby to stay with us!
It's a girl!

Marina - great story!!! I love this stuff. I really think it improves egg quality and if nothing else circulation, but I really saw so many other subtle ailments (allergies, digestion, dark circles under my eyes) go away by cleaning up the diet.
I'm eating a bit crappy pregnant (along w/ good foods) but I learned so much in doing all this and will forever look to diet if anything is wrong w/ me.

I did accu with IUI, but not at first. Got pg with my first IUI, lost the baby. Second IUI was a neg, third was cancelled. Fourth IUI I did the accu ~ think I started sometime just before the the third, but was well into it by fourth. Fourth IUI was twins! Didn't do the accu this time around, but only took one IUI, and I'm having a singleton. If it relaxes you and you enjoy, why not? Go for it.
IUI twins ~ July 2006
IUI singleton ~ due Jan 15 2009

Daniela,I'm glad you and baby doing good! :)
You right,I was going to do FET 3 months after my m/c (we had 6 good quality embies all grade B frozen) and planed on thawing 3(in case if one didn't make it) and transfer 2.But on a day of procedure they called us and said-we are sorry, none of your embryos made it...NONE!!! Of all 6 !!! At first we were in shock-how it can be?! They were frozen in 3 different straws,I can see one or 2 didn't make it,but all 6  .So we had a lot of questions to the doctor and lab,but unfortunately we can't prove anything, they all cover each other. We are 99% sure it was a lab's mistake :x I was going to leave this clinic, but they gave us money back for failed FET and my RE "promised" that next time he personally will take care of me and we went to IVF#2 right away(by the time of my retrieval my RE left on vacation and I had somebody else do the whole thing). It failed,I was done with this clinic.

I did not believe in FET,but if you remember Lyly, she was doing FET and second IVF in the same time with me and got BFN,but last time she had 4 embies left after failed fresh cycle and transfered all 4,didn't even hope for anything ,and miracle happened! Now she is almost 14 weeks pregnant(singelton) and another girl after FET(they transfered 5) with triplets! So,I guess you never know!Different embies, different day, different stars lined up!The quality maybe not very good, but if you already have them-go for it! And yes,you 'd have to stop breastfeeding, because they put you on b/c and Lupron and then estrogen.
And I'd definatly do acupancture with FET to improve the blood flow and the lining.

Stefanie-I agree with you,and my dh did it too this time-before acupancture they told us to think about using a sperm donor(he had 88% sperm fragmentation(only 30% is normal)-broken DNK in sperm) and after 3 months it improved a lot.Plus diet,of course. So, I believe in this stuff,it makes sense to me-you won't see many asian people having trouble to concieve or overweight.Of course,I'm not going to change my diet completely ,but we could learn some useful tips from them.
