Hi there, where did everyone go?????

The July group got so quite!!!!

No more m/s and throwing up. Since I stopped getting the daily Progest. shot every morning (last shot 12/31) the m/s really subsided alot. Even though my r/e released me to my local OB he had me go to the local labcorp. to have blood tests taken to monitor the progest. level. I went yesterday morning with the results being sent to my r/e, he called my yesterday afternoon and told me the level is at 70.
He isn't doing anymore blood tests and said I am all finished with his office. My OB appt is on the19th.
My OB also called me yesterday to let me know that he got my official CVS test results for the twins and all is fine.
It is just so so odd........no shots in the morning, no weekly doctor's appt., no weekly u/s. And I don't see my OB until the 19th.

My belly is starting to get big. None of my suits or pants for work fit me!! I guess i'll have to go and do some shopping. :)

But come 7:30 8:00 at night I am just pooped.

Talk to all of you girls very soon.

Hi girls! I just got back from a little mini vacation in Orlando for 2 days and is my first real day back to work since the holidays. Ugh! We had a great time though and am so glad we went since this might be our last trip for awhile. Hope everyone is feeling good.

Rinnie, DH bought me a wonderful stocking stuffer for Christmas that lists all baby things (cribs, car seats, strollers, monitors, etc) and rates different ones. It's really helpful to have some info to get started. I'll try to remember to write down the name of the book if you're interested.

JerseyGal, I can so relate to the long wait once you've been released from your RE. I really miss my frequent appointments so at least I got some regular peeks at the baby. Glad to hear your m/s is gone. I thought I was done but had a touch of nausea last night and until lunch today. Hopefully it will be completely gone soon though. Have fun shopping! I can't wait to start growing so I can look for some cute clothes. One of my good friends is actually giving me some of her clothes from last year, so that will give me a good start!

Rinnie- I am happy to report that my m/s is really starting to subside. I was really only able to eat breakfast before and was still throwing up here and there but now I am able to eat 3 small meals and I haven't thrown up in a while. I still don't have a great appetite but it is getting better! Hope you are feeling well.

JerseyGal- I feel the same way. I haven't had a u/s or been to the ob in 2 weeks and I don't go see mine until the 20th. I get so worried. I just want to hear the hb and know everything is ok. My cousin works in a dr office and they have an u/s tech. She said she could sneak me in for a peak any Wed I want but it is not too close to my house. I really feel like going there tomorrow to make sure everything is ok but I am even scared to do that. What if I go and there is no hb then what? I know I may sound paranoid but that is what happened to me last time.

Wonderce- A vacation mini or not sounds great. I am glad you were able to get away for a few days. It will be quite a while before I will be able to do that.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

hello Everyone,
I am so nervous for tomorrow. It is my NT test day! I am so scared. I hope my baby doesn't have Downs Syndrome. I am 36 years old. Either way, whatever happens we decided we would not terminate the pregnancy. For those that had the NT test, did they tell you the results right away and were they able to tell you the gender of the baby?

Thanks,
Donna

doddo - I had both the NT and CVS testing done on Dec 26th. The NT is very easy and the Doctor will tell you right away if the thickness at the back of the neck on the baby is within normal parameters. With the NT they usually do some blood tests that tell you in certain markers are present. Those results usually take about a week or so.
As for the gender question, they could not tell anything (for us) from the NT u/s. When we got our CVS results the sexes of the babies are available (we are having twins) but we told them we don't want to know.

Just remember that with the NT there are false postives so try to keep that in the back of your mind and relax. I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts. Everything will work out great for you!!!!

hi everyone!
wow so most of us have entered the 2nd trimester by now! It feels so good and more reassuring :) question for everyone-we are supposed to fly in 2 weeks to santa fe for a little vacation. Bridget is a little worried because we just met someone whose wife went into labor at 26 weeks and they think flying triggered it. Now I know we are not nearly that far along but with bridget being 37, us having a m/c in the past (although very early on) and her pregnant with twins-i think it made her a little afraid to fly. does anyone know the answer to this? Is it totally safe to fly around 15 weeks?
We see our OB monday and will definitely ask her opinion but wanted to check and see what your thoughts are.
thanks!

Hi girls,
Kb 1231-I was just asking the same question on Monday and my peri(we see different doctors every time) said it's ok after 12 weeks to fly.You have a second trimester to make some trips if you want to .But I guess everybody have their opinions,so you better go with what your doctor says.I know many people fly,but I'm scared myself to be far away from my doctors office.
We had a little scare on Monday,I had appt. with genetic couns.,but in the morning when I went pee I noticed brown spotting. So when we came I asked them to look at me first, because I didn't care at that point about genetic person telling me what I already know. But luckily everything was fine and they don't know exactly why I'm spotting, but as long as it's brown,it's ok.
We decided not to do any testing now.Gosh,it's stressful enough for me to wonder every week if we'll see the h/b at my next appt. And that doctor wasn't pushy ,so we left it at that.I just saw a message from girl on this forum about her baby having DS-how awful and scary.Just breaks my heart.
IVF#1-BFP,but lost our angel at 16 weeks
IVF#2-BFN
IVF#3-BFP,started w/tiplets,lost one at 7 weeks,lost a second at 15 weeks
Praying for a miracle baby to stay with us!
It's a girl!

marina-we decided the same thing. we are still going to do the 20 week scan but we decided since it wasn't going to change our decision, to not worry about yet another thing. i think bridge has decided not to fly. as much as we wanted to take a nice relaxing vacation, we have worked so hard for this pregnancy and I don't want to be worried and if something does happen-blame flying on it ya know? we might be being a bit conservative but we have to do what feels right!
we'll talk to our OB monday though.
i hope the spotting stops for you. i'm glad it's only brown and sounds like everything is going well otherwise.
have you gained any weight yet? i'm starting to note a little bump with bridget-it's so cute :)
i can't imagine how much she's going to gain with twins!
she's little like you so it will be interesting :) sounds like from the twin forum-there is differing opinions on eating but i think the post about eating only a few extra hundred calories is needed.
thanks for your input marina!

Lyly, glad your m/s is subsiding. Mine is too thank goodness! I'm still having a little here and there, but not all day like before. I'm still dealing with bathroom issues some though and that worries me. I know it's normal but just don't want to go through the pain I went through twice before when things weren't "regular". Did you decide to go sneak a peek yesterday with another u/s?

Doddo, I just had my NT test a little over a week ago and JerseyGal is right, they should be able to tell you about the thickness of the baby's neck right away. I had some different b/w done though, so I actually didn't get results yet and will go back at week 16 for one more blood draw and then week 17 for the b/w results along with another u/s. They couldn't tell us the gender of the baby yet but we'll know at week 17. Good luck and keep us posted!

Kb, it sounds like you and Bridget may have made up your mind about the traveling, but as I mentioned earlier this week that DH and I just took a trip to Orlando. We actually flew and I'm 13 weeks today. My doc said it was completely fine, just to make sure DH and the skycap did all the heavy lifting of our bags and for me to drink plenty of water. As far as I know, everything is fine with me. I guess you have to do what feels right though. Is Bridget feeling better these days?

Marina, sorry you had the scare with the spotting. It sounds like you're fine though and glad you were already going to the doctor that day so they could check you. Yes, the thought of having a baby with DS is a little scary and we were a bit nervous to get the testing done. I think it was the best decision for us but not for everyone. Less stress is better, whether that means testing or not testing.

Hi ladies!
I'm sorry to be a late joiner to the board- but I'm so glad that it's here!
I'm due 7/30. Yesterday was our last appointment and u/s with our RE- and I cried when he said goodbye. Going through this experience is so emotional and when you have a terrific doctor that you've LOVED working with (much less made a baby for you!) it's hard to give that up.
I'm in the process of switching OBs. Had a rough experience with my long-time OB right before IVF so I'm on the hunt - terrified to switch, though, after a good experience with the RE! Has anyone else switched after IVF?

Stopped suppositories yesterday, too - I totally understand how the rest of you feel. I feel like I'm not doing anything! Hard to believe I'm 1 week from being in the 2nd trimester.

Congratulations to everyone!

Hello,
I had my NT test today and everything is fine!! Thank Goodness! But, I now have two Subchorionic bleeds. The first one hasn't gotten bigger. It is 2 cm. The other one is smaller but part of the placenta isn't attached to my uterus. I am so scared. Why can't things go smoothly? I get another ultrasound in 4 weeks. I am soooooo nervous!

doddo - great news on the NT!!!!! I am very happy for you.
I don't understand why your OB is making you wait 4 weeks for another u/s. Does he/she feel that this doesn't need to be monitored closely? Or did they say it's not something to be too concerned about?

tigersuz - welcome!!!! I had a hard time leaving my R/E, he was just wonderful. I got spoiled with the attention from his staff. As for the m/s is does go away. Mine went away dramatically after I stopped the Progest. shots execpt for this morning. I was brushing my teeth and I ran for the toilet!!!! Everything came up. I know TMI.

kb- I hope you two have a wonderful time on you getaway!!!! At this point I would love to be on a mini-vacation too.

Talk to everyone soon!!

Welcome Suzanne :) Are you having one baby?I did hunting myself before last IVF,had to leave my OB also-bad story, but this time I didn't have to wonder a lot-my IVF clinic sent me straight to high risk OB(peri) because I started out with triplet pregnancy. All the doctors and nurses are wonderful .

Well guys,I think we are not going to travel at least for a few weeks from now- my spotting turned into blood last night, which scared the hell out of me(and my DH,he worries more then I do!),I ended up going to the doctor again this morning, but again, they did not see anything wrong,my cervix was fine,no infections, they think that it might be because of the 3d sac.
So ,I'm going to stay close at least for now until this spotting stops.

Lyly,did you go for u/s?

Wondercare, try Colase(you can buy it over the counter),my nurse told me this is the best if you need to use a drug.My "problem" stabilized for now,at least I'm able to go every 2 days.

Kb-I put only 4 lb :? since the beginning (last week was 5,this week I 'm down to 4  ),this weight doesn't want to stick with me yet,but I have a little bump too  (well,to be exact ,I was this big first time when I was 5 months PG with my son!)

Doddo-congrats on NT scan-tat will easy your mind a little!

The dr. said its small, like half an inch big. He didnt act like it was a big deal. He said as long as 75% of the placenta is working then things would be fine. I feel like I don't get the full details and I am the type of person that worries over EVERYTHING!!!!! It is crazy for them to make me wait another month to see what is going on in there.
The only thing I have that is reassuring is to use my doppler and hear the heartbeat. The other subchorionic bleed that was found early on has not gotten bigger but it hasn't gotten smaller. I am such a wreck over this.

The ultrasonographer said oh I am suprised you aren't bleeding! So that scares me.
